The major/minor psyker ratio shift looks like it is the result of a gradual process—while it's only a few turns, in years it's quite a bit more. My money is on it being a 'natural' result of Avernus meddling in human genetics, maybe somehow boosted by a threshold effect from first producing alpha plus psykers of any variety.

Honestly it seems pretty benign, even beneficial. Not really worth having Ridcully look into, given that at this point Jane isn't worried, losses to Chaos psykers are below replacement on the relevant forces, and any hinky plots would have had a decent chance of being revealed just as a byproduct of Ridcully's recent scrying on why our psyker hunting forces were getting targeted so heavily. Ridcully actions are quite valuable after all, and the random years spent scrying one thing or another add up.

Than I would propose to try to sent him back in time to after the end of the first colonization of Avernus so that he can prepare for The Great Crusade.
Issue is that there probably wouldn't be a great crusade, cos fred would stomp all over the iron rebellion alongside the emperor and star general perturabo, then they'd bust into the web way and slaughter the eldar empire. Federation of man would stand triumphant over the galaxy alongside their allies, no slaneesh, and the other 3 stay barely active.

You are massively underestimating both the MoI, and especially the Eldar Empire.

+ The probable lack of Perterabo in this instance, the fact that Slaanesh would probably be born early assuming any war against the Eldar is successful and the fact that the 3 would instantly go active since they'd be strong enough to ignore Asyran's directive.

Personally I do find the idea interesting to see how a young Areatha and Rotbart would interact. Would he kill someone he knows could be an extremely valuable asset because he found the future version of her that he knows annoying or would he attempt to mould her into an asset that won't irritate him.

The end of the first colonisation of Avernus is after the MoI rebellion and probaly after the fall of the eldar empire.

So sometime in the later 8000 years of the first age of strive.

I would imagine the Emperor or Primach tasked with integrating the Trust region to do it diplomatically. Because by that point we -the questors- would have manage to build a Deus and with a 8000+ year old Rotbart in command it would be insane fighting that fleet head on. At the other hand if it is the Emperor he could likely manage that with half the fleet numbers and a single battleship as the heaviest under his command. Emperor OP please NEVER nerf!

if there is another great crusade, the trust would be 100% down with joining willingly. We'd likely still negotiate for a few special privileges though.

it would rather depend what we look like in a few thousand years. By that point avernus is likely going to be a majority minor psyker population. That alone would give us enough bargaining chips to negotiate.
In a thousand years? I retract my statement, if we haven't been destroyed by them we'll have assimilated the Blood Dragons and other neighbouring polities. We will still be very small compared to the big powers however, even if Avernus produces 1000 times as many psykers as your average hive world the large human powers do have thousands of hive worlds. We won't be getting all that special treatment.
I do wonder if we are going to get a tri avernite Centurian trait or if we have just tapped that upgrade out for now?
My guess is 500 years then 1000, or 400 as a doubling.

Depends on the who and the what.

Tech could probably secure us a lot of special privileges alone, the knowledge of the warp'd probably help too.

Horus (pre corruption) for example would love to talk to us first rather than just beat our skulls in.

"So you know Chaos? FUCK Chaos. F U C K C H A O S. If they show up, tell us, we get to kill them if they're reasonably nearby."
"That's an odd condition..."
"Fuck. Chaos. So. Hard. And not like that either, there's one who LIKES that."

The tech trades are going to continue to happen, I doubt we'll have any particular advantage by then unless you're counting favours owed for our good faith.

Ah right had a bit of a brain fart, talking M30 Great Crusade.

Predicting how a "new" great crusade will go and our position in it is pretty much nonsensical, since there's a reasonable expectation that the galaxy will be so changed by that point it won't matter.

If there were to be a Great Crusade now...I'd make the argument we'd be important, but only for the reason that we're probably the best basing in Pacifus. We can do expandy expandy etc.

That being said each of the big three apparently owes us like multiple Honour bounds for the tech we gave, as I recall.
