2. You do understand that these are survival priorities, right? Because we need a number of these people and groups alive after this incursion is over. I'm rather in agreement with the list as is, tbh. Durin did a really good job setting the defaults.
Areatha isn't going to die if she's put on 1. We need her making a massive impact, if only to secure the safety of our other heroes.

As for Saint Lin, he should be fine on 4 if you give him hero bodyguards. We need him doing something. His potency as a mass anti-daemonic debuff is too valuable to ignore. It directly improves the survival of all our other heroes.

@Enjou, could you add some more instruction to the orbital assets? Beyond just helping focus-fire the Island Turtle targets, perhaps have them also assist with the Deathstrike attack for even more fire to use, and for any guns not supporting the turtles, either due to the turtles not shooting for some reason, or because of horizon issues, to fire at will into the deamonic hordes. We have a very target rich environment, and bombardment platforms immune to enemy action, let us use them to their fullest.

[X] Plan Evacuate, Redeploy, and Prioritize

I am voting for this I have to go over see a blood dirive today will help out when I can, if I can.

I am really afraid of getting more than 60% loss on our helltroopers , you should at least put a Hero like Areatha with them to fight, putting pure Helltroopers/PDF is just asking them to get decimated, and I'd rather we don't lose the bonus we built up.

I imagine we don't need to personally enter coordinates of every orbital strike. They will bombard by themselves and passive command to their fullest, we just need to enter specific ideas.

Basically this. The idea is to add some plans and ideas to improve things, not micromanage everyone's actions.

Bonus points if you yell "Blood for the Blood Drive! Skulls for the Skull Throne! Khorne cares not from wence the blood is donated, only that it is donated!" after donating.

@Enjou, I really think we should open those Cavern portals. Khorne daemons are resistant to psychic powers so doing indirect damage with our psykers is one of the best ways to use them. Telekines aren't doing anything special like the pyromancers so indirect damage is the best they can do, and the best way for them to do indirect damage is by unleashing a horde of subterranean hell beasts to attack the horde of extradimensional hell daemons.

I also highly recommend putting the Phase Tigers on hero extraction duty. They're too small to have a major strategic effect in any other way, and we know from the last daemonic incursion that hero extraction is something they're good at. This is one of the best ways to further ensure the survival of some of our most important and irreplaceable assets. n Steps Ahead should ensure they're where they're most needed.

Finally, I highly recommend killing the Alpha trainees. Under normal circumstances, an Alpha psyker only has a 10% chance of successfully completing the trials. Rogue Alphas account for 95% of the damage done to us by rogue psykers by Word of God. Keeping them around during daemonic incursion or even ferrying them up to the orbitals is simply too risky. They would do far too much damage in the very real scenario that they go rogue.

@Durin, do Ridcully and our other Telepathica heads recommend doing this? Or is taking them into orbit sufficient? (I imagine we've got warded transports for moving untrained psykers to and fro, given how many of them we deal with every year)

there is a better then even chance that your alphas can be safely taken to orbit, and if they are they are pretty likely to pass the trails

Defiance of the Frozen
Defiance of the Frozen

Once more then, The commander of the Frozen Remnants mused to herself grimly as her eyes scanned readiness reports from her subordinates. This time it was the damned Blood God that sought to assail their home. Two-hundred and twenty years; it had been over two centuries since the last incursion. Two centuries since her first major conflict.

Back then she'd been a fresh faced, terrified Second Lieutenant participating in a forlorned charge alongside her Regional Commander; armored in Carapace and armed with an Impaler Carbine.

Now though? Gone was the Carapace suits; replaced with Power Armor, gone were the Impaler Carbines to make way for their larger Rifle variants. Gone was the folly of the past as we are smarter and stronger now than we once were. More than that; the Frozen Remnants still remained; forged in the fires of the First Incursion, they had only grown in both number and in skill.

Not that it has all been positive for that matter; virtually all of her friends and soldiers she had fought alongside during that day were long dead barring one. They weren't shielded by a Warstorm that had guarded them from outsiders either and were trying to hold the line against the perdition of Chaos out on the Colonies.

They might very well need to make another sacrifice as they had done before. If Samanta; Marshal Khol gave the order, then they may very well need to follow it, if it meant defending their comrades and fellow citizens they would likely need to hold the breech should the walls fail. She trust her superior and friend; one who had mentored her since that fateful day. Standing at her station amongst the moving mass of her subordinates and guards she nodded to herself. Everything was as ready as they could be with the time they had available, not that they wouldn't; they were Avernites, preparing for the Daemons was their task and their purpose. Brigadier General Bethany Dryden tore her gaze away from the readiness reports when the voice of young Helltrooper spoke up.

Glancing to face the younger officer, she did her best to hide a smile, after all she still remembered when she herself had been is that same position. Motioning to a comms officer she spoke calmly before being redirected to Marshal Khol.

"Marshal Khol, Ma'am; the Frozen are ready to follow your lead-." She began.

Let the damned Blood God come, she thought; if it wanted war and battle let us show its servants what we truly fight for; each other, those we have lost and those we have yet to lose and not mindless conflict. And if it wanted to do so on a world that hated the Ruinous Powers, so be it.

A/N: A bit short but I'm going to be rather busy soon.

Their Third Trial
Their Third Trial

For many, even those in the Telepathica with free Juvenat, this was to be their first daemonic incursion, a terrifying test of their will far hasher than the trials they had gone through before. Whispers of the first incursion, more than two centuries ago, were spoken of by their elders. Failure here, in the best case scenario, would be mere death. Far worse fates were in store.

For those scant few psykers who had already suffered an incursion, this was all their horrors and hates brought back to life. There were some forty thousand who had survived the first incursion (and still lived), and for them this was a time where more than half their compatriots had fallen, slain by the daemons that came, by their compatriots who fell, or, tainted, by those with will enough to put them down. This was a time when their wills were put a far harsher test than any before, the University trials being nowhere near the difficulty of their second trial.

The experience of their second trial was the crucible -or perhaps filter- that hardened all the survivors. Control and strength of will utterly tested, strength of arms proving for too necessary all too often, even and perhaps especially so for Sanctionites and Trainees. The least of them are veterans of whatever they practiced, and among them Avernus' few Exemplar Battle Psykers can be found.

With the scant few hours left to them, they swapped stories among themselves for mirth and resolve, readied themselves for the terror to come. Triple, quadruple, quintuple and more recheckings of the runes and wards that protected them, banishment of every doubt they could find from their own minds, in it's stead enforcing tranquility and clarity upon themselves to oppose the sheer rage that would bombard them.

It was time for their third trial.

--[Y] In the event of an Exalted Greater Daemon approaching, Areatha will attempt to engage away from our cities if possible.

@Durin
What is her opinion on that?

@Enjou
For ranking her 2 that is terrifyingly dangerous!

currently I do not have that, though I can provide the table with their ages and power

  Total 21-25 16-20 11-15 6-10
Alpha 2 1     1
Beta 34 7 9 8 10
Gamma 273 44 63 79 87
Delta 1743 460 355 435 493
Epsilon 6822 1748 1476 1549 2049
Zeta 14298 3668 3098 3230 4302
and that is a rather big Phase-Tiger, but not unnaturally so.
That'll be doable. Ooh. That's a rather young Alpha. I feel like wanting to hug them.

It's Raining Blood Today And I Forgot To Bring My Umbrella To Work
It's Raining Blood Today And I Forgot To Bring My Umbrella To Work

It was supposed to be such a good day.
Okay, not really, no. It was supposed to be another boring yet dangerous day where you could either stare at dull white snow all day, or color it red for a change.
It was shaping up to be the latter kind of day.
The one saving grace of this situation was that he wasn't going to face it alone.
Can't let the old bastard get away without a scratch when you'll be spilling your guts.
...
"So... it's an incursion. Again." Joshua started, breaking Mike's monologue.
Mike shivered in response. Because it was cold. Also because there was a massive horde of demons coming. Equally from both.
"Yeah. You'd think they learned their lesson last time, but nooooo, their warp-tainted brains just don't learn at all, do they?" Mike replied.
Joshua didn't move at all, outside of adjusting his missile launcher. He thought showing fear was a bad thing to do. Which may be right, but he also though that scented candles make Blink Spiders' teleporting harder, so his words should be taken with a hefty grain of salt.
"Just our luck to get deployed this far north, too." Joshua squinted, trying to make out the dark shapes in the distance. "Coming, one thousand meters."
"Luck? You were caught taking a nap during a patrol! We still don't know how you even managed that." Mike would have pointed his finger at him, but he was too busy pointing his gun at a dog-like... thing, that kept dodging his shots!
"Oh, shut up. At least I didn't oogle sarge's ass when you think she wasn't looking." Joshua didn't bother with pointing, or body language for that matter.
A rare moment of complete silence appeared. Both of them took a moment to appreciate it.
...
"How's your wife, anyway? You said you hired a bodyguard so she won't be so stressed out from the Blinks."
"Called it out. The orbital nursery said it can get her a nice, cozy place a month or two before delivery."
Mike whistled, impressed. "Not bad. Will get her further from this shit, too."
"Hope so. At least one of my kids will live to maturity. She's still heartbroken over Sally."
"Failing trials isn't the worst that could have happened to her. At least she didn't end up possesed or something."
"I know, I know. Doesn't make those witch finders any less ominous. Big one on your three."
And it was big. Big and fast like a speeding train. Thankfully, a well aimed missile slowed him down enough for others to fill him with holes. You can only bleed so much, after all.
Then silence. Again.
Except it wasn't really silent. Winds blew, demons howled, and arnaments of all sorts fired all they've got.
It was just silent between those two grumpy grenadiers, stuck on frontline duty in middle of a crisis.
...
"You got some smokes?" Joshua asked, holding a dead Blink Spider, a knife stuck in it's abdomen. Even now, those damned things couldn't find a better target. Or maybe it was just running away? Eh, whatever.
"Nah, ran out last night." Mike spit out some blood before aiming at a Bloodletter. It lacked an arm, and couldn't find a replacement, since it kept tearing off arms of soldiers it encountered. It was weird, even for chaos.
"Shame. Could use a last smoke, before getting skewered." A horn the size of Joshua's arm got stuck in the ground next to them, a farewell gift from a visiting tourist, here to visit local sights, slaughter local populace.
"Too true. Too damn true."
Silence reigned between them. There was nothing left to say, after all.
Not like could hear one another anymore.
Could those bloodthirsty screams be any damn louder?!

I think Xavier has a rather unique opportunity in this war.
Combat Paragon Trait: Chimeric Master (no penalty to combining multiple skills, can use average of targets combat with psychic defence and/or intrigue in duels)- Grandmaster Xavier has mastered the Chimeric Style that he has created to such a level that he flawlessly combines combat, stealth and psychic powers. This allows him to take advantage of any weakness in an opponents skill set with great ease, making him a terror to those who focus entirely in a single aspect of combat.
He's capable of nullifying enemy's martial advantage, considering Khorne's distaste for psykers and trickery.

Deepwood Defense
Deepwood Defense
A report by Magos Biologis p3T3r-P4N after the Skies of Blood

During the previous incursion the wildlife was witnessed to coordinate at levels never seen before allowing many new tactics and even species to be documented. The Skies of Blood was no different and this report will go over some of the tactics that were used by the residents of the Deepwoods.

Initially it was worried that the recently discovered Shrine Fairies would be a liability in the incursion due to their psychic powers not being strong enough to overcome the Blood God's hate for witchcraft while still being valuable sacrifices for the demons. Thankfully this seems to have been accounted for in the defensive strategy of the Deepwoods as great efforts were made to prevent the Khornates from reaching the 'cities' of the Shrine Fairies and the almost helpless people who resided in them. One of the ways suspected but not confirmed is that however the Deepwoods' space is warped was changed to make it harder for the demons to attack the cities. The Shrine Fairies main use during the incursion was providing a safe area for defenders to rest and giving psychic support defenders of the Deepwoods. Though their lack of power made this a minor effect but in an event as dangerous as the Bloody Skies was even a little help can mean the difference between life and death.

While the Shrine Fairies were wrongly worried to be a liability their more physical cousins were correctly guessed to be a major part of the defense. The first thing that was noticed in regards to the Slayers was them gathering in greater numbers than the small groups they usually operated in around the Shrine Fairy cities. This was due to two reasons one of which was the Slayer Fairies entrusting those who were too weak either due to age, sickness, or injury to their psychic cousins so they could completely focus on the enemy. The other reason was for the Shrine Fairies to enact a massive ritual to empower the gathered Slayers which was very successful due to the Slayers' smaller size compared to many of the other defenders and their compatibility with their cousins. Afterwards many of the Slayer Fairies split back up to their usual groups, though those who were typically loners grouped up as no one wants to fight an incursion on their own, in order to prepare for the enemy. When the demons finally entered the Deepwoods the Slayer Fairies used their small stature to quickly ambush any Khornates that appeared which with their crafted weapons and the strength they granted usually ended the fight then and there. Against the tougher of the Blood God's minions who would not die to a single ambush a Slayer group would meet it in battle and making full use of their numbers would slay the beast. Finally when a powerful Bloodthirster entered the Deepwoods and began slaughtering everything in its way including several experienced Slayer parties a special group of Slayers who were waiting and resting for an opponent such as this moved out. These were the most skilled and best equipped (for the two traits were interconnected) of all the Slayer Fairies, who had even left the Deepwoods to hunt one the greatest predators of Avernus, dragon. For this they were titled by their people, Dragon Slayers, but today they weren't hunting dragons they were hunting a demon. The battle between the Greater Demon and the Dragon Slayers is one worthy of having an entire report of its own but to summarize it: after nearly an entire day of battle where many of the party was wounded and a few slain the leader of the Dragon Slayers in his Invisible Bastard armor dealt the final blow to the Bloodthirster. After this the assault on the Deepwoods was weakened for the rest of the Bloody skies.

The third and final wildlife that showcased new capabilities in the Deepwoods Defense were the Bwana Trees. At the incursions start all of the Bwana Trees brought their Dryads together into one massive army. The leaders of the army were those sapients who were brought to their tree masters alive and without brain damage, primarily Slayer Fairies and humans, as they are the most intelligent of the Dryads. The canon fodder of the army were the brainless for no tactics beyond charging mindlessly was possible for them but they did manage to successfully occupy many of the Bloodletters that entered the woods. One of the interesting things that happened during the Bloody Skies was that almost all of the dead and dying defenders of the Deepwoods were brought to Bwana Tree pools to be reborn as Dryads so even in death they could still fight. The Trees created so many Dryads that more than a few died by the toxins produced in the aftermath of the incursion. As the Khornate invasion went on many of the Bwana Trees began to weaken from both the toxins and exhaustively using their psychic powers to support their Dryads. While the first issue couldn't be solved, the second was another thing entirely. For the Shrine Fairies sensed that their hated enemy turned defender was weakening and realizing that if they failed the Blood Demons would definitely reach their homes. So many Shrine Fairies would volunteer themselves as sacrifices for the Bwana Trees who greedily devoured the psykers in order to empower their minions to even greater heights. Because of the Bwana Trees role as troop producers and medics they were centers of the battle with many bands of Bloodletters following the trails of Dryads to the trees where important fights took place for every dead Bwana Tree meant the Deepwoods were closer and closer to falling.
