@Durin 1) since we have spare naval slots(ships we can build without tithe to the trust navy because we're replacing ships) from the many escorts that were destroyed in the two front war that are unlikely to be used, can we trade them back to the trust or other planets?

2 ) we aren't responsible for upkeep on ships we build for the trust, right?

Probally a typo, but the build ships for the trust action has an upkeep attached.

Edit: it occurs to me, that we could do rune of fire : helguard and since that's part of the helguard upkeep the trust would subsidize it. Once we increase the tithe anyways. Woot, (maintenance cost) free rune of fire!

So, thinking of the whole path to ascension thing, I have to wonder how that interacts with being a blank.

I mean Blanks exist and are percieved by warp effecting creatures, so they probably have an archetype in the warp, even if no blanks are actually able to interact with it.
I was just thinking that if it isn't possible under normal conditions then Aria might actually be one of the, if not best, then nearly best available claimants in the galaxy, on account of other claimants either not being blanks or not being able to interact with the archetype.
Even if she isn't actually to the point where she does anything godly level impressive yet.

I'm not sure I agree, I think an issue is in the specific nature of region Eta's danger, namely that it is full of things that are especially likely to be a physical threat to the defences and structures of the region.
As such I think there is a greater chance of being forced to pay to repair damage to structures as a result of building things there, and a greater chance of random events that snowball to depopulate or destroy a city by means of damaging their defences, thus rendering savage or refounding less advantageous.

Also, from a distance this region looked like the safest option, but when we got closer it turned out to be the homeland of one of the most dangerous creatures we have yet encountered, typical Avernus.
So going by the logic that this region especially was sort of a trap, the other two options are likely to be easier.
(Also the lizardmen jungle captures my imagination for deadly but useful plants)

@Durin
1. Can blanks normally ascend to godhood?
2. Why or why not?
3. What opinions are our advisors and generals putting forward on whether or not to check out a different region?
1. unknown
3. not the player

Odds are that the other regions are just as dangerous just in their own ways. Example, north is closer to the poles which are noted to be the most dangerou places on the planet potentially leading to us meeting creatures that may have migrated from the poles while the other option has us going across the freaking sea which are noted to have the most dangerous creatures on the planet which is the reason why falling into it is considered a death sentence. Choosing a region is pretty much picking our poison when it comes to expansion.
I dunno I thought the deep caverns were supposed to be the most dangerous place and have the most dangerous creatures.

At least the most dangerous place we could theoretically visit without being invited of course.

@Durin
1 if we get enough motherships can we send them out so we have everything mapped for the next time we can expand?

It takes a dozen to fully explore with just them but we have already hit the point of diminishing return for useful out of them for helping our ground expeditions. To make it worth it we would need to build all remaining one in quick order and send them out immediately.

I want to complete a dozen of them and have them doing regular explorations so we do not have to have a army every time we explore. It is more of something we can do for next time or just have them ready to explore.

@Durin 1 would spying on the chaos gods be considered a great feat?
2 would spying on a god in general be considered a feat?
3 does Saint Lin have a idea what would be considered a great feat?
4 would someone who ascended be able to do things not related to thier Dominion?
5 like say heal a Primarch of a chaos curse/stab.
6 or keep a Saint alive by giving him some power for his soul?

Yeah that's the plan I want build them at once. Then send them out to explore the regions so we don't lose troops to an expedition.
I'm not Durin but for 5. He has said that the God needs to be some sort of healing one for it to work without dangerous consequences. For 6. The problem for Lin is that his Soul is too powerful so adding to it would probably straight up kill him.

That's honestly immensely wasteful at this point. As I mentioned those things are immensely expensive to make and we would only be using them every hundred years. We take losses all the time so I'd rather we not spent so much resources and Admech actions on those along with putting off expansion for several decades.

If we have them we can use them constantly exploring different regions at any time not just when we need to expand.

Thing is at the moment we are not going to expand for at least a hundred years after we move into a region so it's still a collosal waste considering all the things the Admech actions and resources we can spend those on.

Actually resource-wise they are really cheap (comparatively ofc). It's the AdMech actions that actually hurts us.

3. not that much
4. it depends

6. unknown, there is no chance of Ridcully ascending before Lin dies anyway, the path that he is walking is long and he has just begun
@Durin can we ask Areatha for accurate locations of Dark Age research outposts and other ruins?
you can ask

oh god, what if we have to do the same thing with titans? devoting a mecanus action for each individual titan? sure for like a warlord that would be worth it, but it would take forever to build up a meningful store of warhounds or reavers.

If divining the gods is considered a great feat, perhaps it would be best for Ridcully to simply spy on all of them? Even that Malal guy and the true Emprah.

We could also divine the black crystal goodies we have. That could be fun and sciency.

I was fairly sure we could automate the mobile research platform production at some point.
