Faith is faith.

Even if he doesn't want to he can't control that his faith is still resonating and creating power which is then attracted to the abomination due to the warp's weird ass principle of attraction. It might (emphasis on the might) hurt it, but it should still power it up and if the abomination can take the faith power of its fellow chaos gods and the eldar I think it can handle Lin's.
Again, Chaos. It can take the power of its fellow Chaos Gods and the eldar because it's all raw, chaotic emotion. Emotion that's completely pure and perfectly aligned to Order would give him nothing, because again, before all else, including emotion, Chaos Gods are chaotic. If it's not chaotic, it doesn't matter what "it" is, it won't feed them or help them.

For a start since when was Lin orderly?

His faith is pure and concentrated to be sure, so is that of the Grey Knights, its well organised and put together but hasn't stopped it from being emotion which are inherently chaotic.

If you wanted to make the argument that all his emotion and any power he might send is tainted with the light of the Emperor who became anathema to chaos then that might work.

But, no matter how "orderly" and well thought out emotion is its always going to be emotion which is always going to be chaotic in part, even from the strongest of saints.

Oh joy the Quartik extermination rants are back
I will be back in a few hours when I am in a better mood and can deal with this calmly

@Durin
1. How do the people perceive her? I know you said she has a reputation (a possibly legendary one) amongst them, but does that translate to her being considered a guardian, a weapon or an anomaly?
2. I take it Klovis is scrambling for counter measures...or has he just sighed and decided to not bother?
3. Did she message the Knights or have we had no contact since she rode the wave of destruction?
4. How many people did she kill in her attack? It seems like...a lot.
5. How would capturing abominites to feed to the Sirens be perceived at the moment?
6. If we wanted to do it, should we write it in, or is it happening automatically.

Still theoretically we shouldn't have too many problems assuming she doesn't run into someone too bigotted who tries to make a point to the uber powerful psyker.

Still I kinda want to offer to bring her to the moon. You know to see if she wants final closure or just to see it again.
1. an anomaly
2. he is looking for them but not to hard, she is by no means the most dangerous thing you have found on Avernus
3. no contact
4. she killed a few hundred thousand, the side effects of the ritual failing killed a billion
5. aceptable
6. write in

You don't just introduce a high powered character and then not do anything with her...well at least I know Durin won't do that.
He has with the Great Ones. And the new Eldar god.
Arguably most of the Ultramarines that turned up as well. All were high powered, being veterans of a thousand campaigns, and yet all but one seem to have vanished into the realm of 'off doing their own thing' never to be seen again.

To be honest I really don't care about Marceline. She is just another of the many overpowered monstrosities that live on Avernus. To be ignored and avoided when possible and shot at when necessary.

Far more interesting diplomatic targets are the Emperor Penguin and the boss Slann.

yeah, there are a lot more stories in the Imperial Trust then you can see, some of which are being ignored, others developing by plot and others being rolled for

@Durin
1. Will the next update just handle our finishing up, or will it also look at Mar Sara's situation as well with options related to that as well?
2. How long do we estimate replenishing our current casulties will take?
3. Fixing up Dis/Lonely citadel?

1. it will include finishing things up on Avernus and the next update for Mar Sara
2. not sure, a decade or so
3. two decades for Dis, a few years for the Lonely Citadel

1. Do our Avernite auxiliaries have any insight into how Avernus purges chaos corruption? Like how in the first invasion we found possessed and corrupted weapons cleansed.
2. Do they have any methods of doing it themselves that they'd be willing to share?
3. How large an increase in cults do we expect from the crashed ships and Abomination sleeper agents?

1. No
2. sort of, high grade psychic fire is good for cleansing according to the Sirens
3. major but probebly not a full uprising, Jane advises preparing for one anyway

But even I have to admit that this is an incredibly catchy song.
Ironically the fanatical purifier/determined exterminator/devouring swarm isn't really the best way to play long term.

I mean it does quite well early game, but it suffers a lot late game ironically due to problems we see in the Imperium itself.

So is anyone else going to make a plan where we grab some cultists for the Siren trade? Because Durin did say that a few posts ago that it would be viewed as acceptable by everyone else and that we needed a write in for it.

Won't that be a choice for later turn?
Mostly wondering how would one incorporate that, with write-ins focused on specific locations. Unless, of course, there can be a 'global' write in, to "catch enemies for siren trade".
Use chem warfare or psionics to disable whoever you can?

Eh even if we don't we're apparently expecting a large enough uprising that Jane should keep alert.

We should probably expect higher cultist averages than before as well.

There is a world of difference between 'acceptable' and 'good'.
Oh come off it, we already pushed this far enough to piss a lot of people off- backing down when we're unlikely to be attacked for it is shitting all over the political capital we've already spent for absolutely no reason.

If people are turning down a golden opportunity to collect souls in a morally and politically acceptable way- we never should have broached it in the first place. But we did and here we are.
