One other thing to keep in mind - Doomed Wombat's mega-omake character is now hanging around and would be fairly likely to help if a Third Circle Angyl were to show up, I'd think.

I don't think I'll get into trouble for this, so

Marcey can beat the 3rd circle reliably, but not easily. It'll keep her occupied for a good while, but she'll kill it eventually.

On the + side she'll probably perma kill it as she has access to a ton of Permakills.

Her getting involved is another matter, chances of her doing so are very low, but increase the more demons there are.

Shouldn't we maybe actually send our elite assasins against the enemy? Seems like we are kind of wasting them considering their talents.
Eh...maybe.

I mean the thing is they're trying to beat down people of their own skill who are trying to get at Lin, so they're far from doing nothing, but until we've knocked em down to about 10 assassins I'd rather keep them on killing em duty.

Aren't these Angyls way better than the traditional daemons?
Not as far as I know?

IIRC the reason the Archangyles are so powerful is because that's how powerful Durin thinks greater demons should be, which makes sense they're supposed to be big deals rather than things that get kicked in the daddy bags all the time, or just get given the Wharf effect.

[] Plan Summoning Takes Time
-[] Harassment - Low while viable, None after. (Rotbart's judgement on the option to get the best kill ratio.)
-[] Psykers
--[] Tamia+1st Telepathy Choir to go on Counter Telepathy against Abomination Telepathy
--[] Sirens to Dominate mid-level commanders and force them into betrayal.
--[] 2nd Divination Choir to select the Mid-Level commanders for the Sirens.
--[] Xavier, Ridcully, along with Pyromancer Choir 1 to enact Scry and Fry tactics, targeting Chaos Lords.
--[] Pyromancer 2 will begin Pyromatic attacks on any targets of opportunity.
--[] Telekinetic Choir 1 and 2 to counter enemy Telekinetic efforts to weaken the walls, as well as strengthening the walls.
--[] Biomancer 1 and 2 to begin working on buffing our troops for the coming assault.
--[] All others to rest. (Primaris Executioner Forces, Lulana, Daemonologists 1,2; Diviner 1, Telepath 2)

Assumptions made in this plan:

1) The Chaos Lords will have a Warding Bonus which is less than 400, because their Warders and whatnot are working on defending their Sorceror Choir.
2) We can survive the next phase without using Ridcully. Well, more accurately without suffering severely.
3) We can handle the 3rd Circle Angyl. Or at least, it's more problematic to stop the Angyl from being summoned that to kill the Angyl.
4) The Range Malus to our psyker actions is largely gone at this point.
5) There is a relative dearth of wildlife in the area. (If there is a lot, I guess the Biomancers will be augmenting them instead.)
6) Telepathy to summon a Magma Wyrm is a no-go.

Available Choirs & Characters Next Phase:

Fresh: Xavier, Lulana, Tamia, Daemonologist 1, 2, Diviner 1, Telepath 2, Primaris Executioner Forces
Tired: Diviner 2, Telepathy 1, Sirens,
Exhausted: Ridcully

Alternatively, we can skip the 'Scry' but of 'Scry and Fry', and have Ridcully fresh to Divine in the coming battle.

@Durin

1. Any comments on the plan? (Most importantly, the Warding Bonus our targets would have.)

I'm pretty sure that low already assumes that (and there will always ge at least some safe-ins harrasment opportunities, even if it's snipers taking potshots at the sentries and the like).

3) We can handle the 3rd Circle Angyl. Or at least, it's more problematic to stop the Angyl from being summoned that to kill the Angyl.
Won't allowing 3rd Circle Angyl to be summoned allow him to summon/decrease difficulty of summoning further angyls, including Angyls of higher Circle?

If the answer is yes, then our cost of allowing this summoning will increase with time (as we kill Angyls, more of local warp energy will be freed, allowing further summons, which the Angyl will perform/directly support).

Maybe.

At the very least the 3rd will bring along its support crew. On the other hand chances are Avernus will ramp up its response to more demons.

A hundred to one kill ratio. As in a single Avernite by themselves will kill a hundred of the enemy before they die. that Micro Astrates thing is becoming more a reality by the minute. Whats the highest kill ratio with our soldiers we have goten so far in this quest to compare?

Note that we are fighting harrasment war (which is specialty of our light elements) in extremely favorable condition against enemy which is A. really bad at such warfare B. is more concerned about getting the objectives archieved as quickly as possible and don't care about casualties.

Frankly the time we managed to get 1 to 1000 kill ration when storming an Ork fortress containing almost a billion orks turn 77 was more impressive.

So any thoughts on how to hit the sorcerers?

Cause I have to say I don't really want the thing summoned unless we can do something to really weaken it, like smash an over charged Banish into it.

Though that being said we do need to do a bit of voting...unless there's a Mortarium on it ATM?

It does make yoy think of every Avernite as a unstopable force of violence and carnage that has a mountain of dead enimes to their name.

We are not letting them summon a Greater Demon just so we can use it as bait.

Depends how you look at it.

The Phase Tigers have repeatedly gotten an infinite exchange rate, inflicting some casualties for no casualties. However they rarely kill all that many enemies, on the scale of conflict we generally engage in.
Fred and the Govoner's Own once got separated and surrounded by a couple of million Orks. They killed all the Orks for relatively minor losses. Call it somewhere between 1:10,000 – 1:100,000.

Right I have been given the go a head to post some questions I posed to Durin in PMs.

1. If you're not too irritated with me, what would the chances of her getting involved in the Valinor bashing be?
2. How powerful is she by the time she arrives in Storms End? I was imagining quite a few Paragon Traits and maybe an artefact due to her axe.
1. at first low, if the daemon numbers get past the first threshold (not saying where that is) medium, if they get past the second high and if they get past the third (full daemonic incursion) certain
2. yes, i would say at least four paragons and an artefact as well as several grandmasters
(note this conversation happened before I posted the omake and transcendence happened now I've got even less idea what her hypothetical are like)

2. What is she a transcendent of? I always imagined control or piety, but combat would have worked too.
3. What level of artefact is her axe? Something on the level of Surtbrander?
4. BTW two things, first I think you forgot to mark the omake as canon on the front page
5. Does her bow count as a relic?
2. control
3. yes
4. ok
5. yea
1. If Marcey decides to get involved when the 3rd circle is summoned how easily could she beat it?
2. What is she doing ATM? Just watching and waiting?
1. reliably but not easily, while she has taken on greater it is still a powerful greater deamon
2. yes
1. Out of curiosity, how would she do against the Exalted Angel? I'd imagine she's one of the few humans in the galaxy who are even capable of fighting one, but what would her chances be?
2. A more odd question:She's beaten (well killed) an Exalted before, and of course it was a very hard fight. Hardest of her life in fact, but was it easier for her than it would be to beat...say An'ggrath because Slaanesh is currently the weakest of the 5? I don't feel like this discrepancy in power between chaos gods would be noted in a demon since they're not connected to the main god, but I wanted your opinion. I guess the question in short form is the Archangyle more powerful than Heartstealer?
3. A question that is more related to the quest, do our characters have a chance against the Exalted if we gang up on it? Cause currently the only way I can see us winning is fire the BCS out of a macrocanon and pray.
4. Can I post some questions from here into the thread, or would that be spoilery?
1. She would have a disadvantage
2. God power rarely effects daemon power
3. If you hit it with all of your gepheroes you stand a chance, though relying on Avernus to deal with it is a better option
4. Yes you can

Thanks @Durin

[X] Plan Summoning Takes Time

Figured I may as well vote get some discussion going or something

@Durin
1. Could we specifically scry and fry a single sorcerer?
2. Would that be more effective than just generally saying scry fry the lot?
3. How much damage would killing a single sorceror do to the ritual if we did it at an opportune time?

1. yes
2. no, killing a single sorcerer is something they are likely to recover from
3. not much unless it is the Sorcerer Lord running the choir, with major rituals it is not that uncommon to lose some sorcerers

1. By choir do you mean the one who's running the defence choir?
2. If so how hard would it be to scry fry him down?
3. Are the Sorcerors still keeping the interdiction fields around the titans up?
4. Just a curiosity question, but do we have the telepathic chops to get a magma wyrm to surface under the abomination forces?
5. If so how do we estimate they'd do against it if it appeared away from their titan support?

[X] Plan Summoning Takes Time

Only because it has an option to attack the Chaos Summoners. I would prefer we sally forth now before they can get actual defences set up. Right now they don't have there full force on the ground and are not completely turtled up. I would rather we go out and kill these guys aggresively. Remember they are here to kill one man: Lin.

If they want to do that they'll need large assets aka the 3rd circle Angyls.

3. yes

Someone should write an omake about the lead sorcerer getting bit by a death's head blink spider because not only will it be funny it might also help prevent the summoning.

Calis knew better than to interrupt Savarion while he was concentrating. In this case, on the mine's trigger mechanism, a pressure sensor. He was holding them, preventing them from detonating even as the sacrificial Valinor soldier walked right on top of them, surviving unscathed.
Ok but why a psyker? Why don't they remotely detonate the mines with remote triggers like normal people do? Relying on a psyker to perform a task that can more easily be done via mundane means is unwise.

Imperial Diviners d100=85+398(power)+159(Ridcully)-25(range)-15(fatigue)=600
re-roll Imperial Diviners d100=47+398(power)+159(Ridcully)-25(range)-15(fatigue)+15(Paragon of Divination)=589: Selected
Why was the inferior roll selected?

Listed below are largely those accessible to a psyker of Zeta strength of below
How come Zeta and below can do it but not the psyker grades above Zeta? Shouldn't they be able to do it due to having more power?

At higher levels of control, the psyker makes the targets create the acid or posion, usually with lethal effect.
A simpler solution to me would be to enhance the acids/toxins the targets naturally create, such as the acids produced in the stomach. Having the stomach acid overpower the mucus lining and burn a hole through their body from the inside seems like it would be more efficient.

Agitation - The psyker vibrates the material in an object or person, causing discomfort, pain, and subsequently spontaneous combustion. Higher levels of control equates to faster spontaneous ignition. Exceedingly efficient in terms of power used.
How is this different from the Spontaneous Combustion power?

Bind - The psyker amplifies gravity, holding down the target, or targets, and making movement more difficult. Higher levels of power allow crushingly strong gravitational strength to be applied. It's reverse form makes movement easy, though true flight is clumsy without Telekinesis or another method of independent propulsion.
This seems more like a Geokinesis power.

Daemonology Powers: Nova
In this point in space, the psyker exercises dimensional manipulation, vastly amplifying the strength of the Strong Nuclear Force, as understood by the Mechanicus. With an application of Telekinesis, the collected material, with a sufficient amount of force, collapses upon itself.
This seems more like a Telekinesis power. The name may also cause confusion as Nova is one of the sub-categories of the Witchfire category of psychic powers.

3) We can handle the 3rd Circle Angyl. Or at least, it's more problematic to stop the Angyl from being summoned that to kill the Angyl.
Take another look at your plan. It has Xavier, Ridcully, and Tamia all participating in this turn of combat, reducing their effectiveness in a fight with the Archangyl and possibly making it so some can't participate at all. The psykers you're keeping on reserve would only be enough to take out the Archangyl if it was alone. The Archangyl will come in with troop support, sorcerer support, Angyl support, and possibly even support of Archangyls from lower circles.
