So anyone with tech ideas?

It might be the last chance we get to suggest them for a while, so if anyone has any please bring them forth :).

And now I'm being annoying... sorry.

Long term hibernation pods would be useful.
Already got Statis and cryopods.

Interesting things to note though

Depending on how it is view the Human Terminator armour project will be getting anywhere between a 34+10+5=49 bonus from Tranth alone.

If other things like intuitive, optimiser and reclaimer proc ten that bumps it even higher.

Edit actually I think intuitive and optimiser would proc.

If so 34+10+10+5+5=64 flat bonus from Tranth.

Advanced solar collectors? Microfabricators and MEMS technology? Industrial cogitators? Tidal power generators? Maybe thermal recovery and advanced heat exchanger technology to optimize power use and productivity in factory cathedrals?

Modular foundry and reactor units for rapid industrialization, maybe?

Documentation of the principles of behind the Well of Urd's back up drives plus some intermediate technologies using them.

High performance drive and manoeuvring systems that can use the power output of a hyperadvanced reactor - because a battlecruiser that has the power to run a Ragnarok cannon should be faster and more agile than our current models except during the actual firing cycle of the main gun.

Ok, here's some tech ideas...

Power Armor Type III, because we're missing that.

Nano-fabrication Forges - Forges that use legendary nano-technology to assemble components.

Administrative Cogitator - Cogitator with an advanced machine spirit specialized in handling bureaucratic tasks. Detects errors, increases efficiency, etc.

Something akin to a Titan - Not a big one, more something on the order of a Warhound or Reaver. Perhaps some prototypes.

Other stuff we could potentially find...
- Intact research records, for things like wildlife, Avernus phenomenon, tech, or anything really.
- Intact xenotech the ancients were studying.
- Historical records filled with inconvenient truths. (STC systems were run by AIs, conversations with the Men of Stone about the Men of Iron, or things of that nature)

Probably not I fear @Durin doesn't want too much Nanotech.

It doesn't strictly have to be a mass deployable technology - could be the energy requirements only make it good for making certain types of AM/EM/RM. And definitely wasn't meant to be the unrealistic "I can build a city in a few days with this" kind of thing - this is meant to be a contained form of fabrication technology akin to a 3D printer, just very good at precision work at a small scale.

I know... eh never mind, brain non functional.

Already got Statis and cryopods

I meant the ones similar to those used to keep Gulliman iced for thousands of years. If we have those already then never mind.

I would like some tech that would help terraform planets and moons.

Maybe tech that can be used to build cities underwater.

Titans or their equivalent machines would also be nice.

Biotechnology to enhance the capabilities soldiers and civilians.

Maybe some DAoT bug spray too. :p

Some more stuff to help the SEOS maybe live longer and fight harder. And some Psychic weapons made from Old One tech for our ever faithful Battle Psykers. That or more ways to weaponize the Wildlife of Avernus. I want my plasma machine gun lazer raptors already.

No we would never build a elevator on Avernus too much of a risk of something getting out.

But since we do have Forge hives on another planet it makes sense to build them there.
The Forge Hives are hyper dense points of infrastructure located on small moons with relatively small gravity wells, so I don't think that concentrating the surface-orbit transport into a few elevators would have much of an advantage. What would it change but adding an expensive, redundant, vulnerable line of infrastructure?

Unless we can get the moons to have a level of fortification and defense comparable to what Mars had that enabled it to build the Ring of Iron, there's not too much point in space elevators.

A elevator can bring materials up more efficient than a shuttle. Hence while several planets in 40 k with spires specialize in ship building. Kind of the same way the spire of mars allow mars to build ships faster than other Forge planets.

The alternative is having a fortress that stretches to low orbit *cough* The Fang *cough*

Speaking of which assuming Ridcully survives this, can we please see about divining the loyalist primarchs/founding chapters?

I had one a while ago, a version of teleportation that is exploitable but not game breaking, but I went back and read the author entry that the way teleportation works was for balance reasons and would not be changed, so deleted what I wrote.

Serious business, there was some discussion upthread about getting replacements into the phase tigers by forming their kids into a whiteshield regiment in the militia, then having their training and working with the Phase tigers begin from an early age, then having the Phase tigers pick and choose who can get into the regiment based on relative skill.
Is this happening in the background? or do we need to set up a specialized regiment for this?

I'm pretty sure the answer is we dunno.

If it's happening great, if not :(

We just don't know.

I have a few.

An idea of a failed attempt at making a cheap teleporter that ended up scattering everything it teleports over an area being repurposed into a warhead. Essentially a souped-up fuel-air bomb because it can teleport (and ignite) explosives inside targets near the shell. Expensive per shell but few things deal well with an igniting could of liquid explosives being teleported inside its armor. The size of the blast lets it work well against infantry and medium armor too. On the downside, the system is theologically difficult since the notes make it clear that it's a failed system being repurposed as something else. Something many conservatives are not comfortable with.

on the industrial side, I have a few ideas for stuff based on the beetle's energy siphon(they had not found the beetle at this time). a modified type of void shield that can unfurl over a massive area(think tens of thousands of kilometers) and draw all sorts of energy from the area. Little use in battle as the draw rate is not fast enough to noticeably drain weapons fire but it can produce staggering amounts of energy if near a star. A variation of the same filed can also be used to create an energy field that will hold onto a massive amount of that energy near perfectly. Making transfer of that energy to industrial sites in the same system practical.

the use of the same energy manipulating filed to provide super fine control over the colling rate of material in industral processes. Useful for the development of the most delicate and advanced technology and alloys.

and now something based on the time twisted fields. The temporal furnace, a power-hungry system that can be used to double/triple/whatever arbitrary number would make it useful the passage of time in a very small area. The energy cost increases exponentially with the area. The largest size feasible for even limited use is about the size of a chimera, and that would need an entire forge cathedral to devote the majority of its power to it.

What is the largest human-made thing in 40k? The Phalanx? The Astronomican? A Huge Hive? I need to know for a technology omake.
