I'm still waiting for more research options for bombardment catcus pollin. that would boost pop too. just have to manufacture it. though expansion ties up a lot of ad admin actions. it also opens up resources.

We are doing some level of deliberate gathering of it, but actual manufacturing is basically impossible. It's not 'just' a drug, it's a super complex Warp-active set of compounds. And trying to put together a mimic of a Warp-active aphrodisiac is sooooo many kinds of bad idea in the 40k-verse.

I was thinking something along the lines of growing the cacti and surgically disarming them before they develop enough to shoot. or whatever the term would be for a plant. if nothing else it would be one hell of a exotic luxery export if we can't produce enough for wide spread use.

Do you mean the processed aphrodisiac or the plant?

On the bombardment cacti thing, I would like to get around to doing the investigative action to see if they have psychic materials. Right now they're looking like the best potential source we've got for a Divination-specific focus, and our Divination already kicks all sorts of ass.

Of course, we're chronically short on Telepathica actions right now, especially with Ridcully needing to spend like half his time scrying. We've got a huge backlog of warding actions and the crafting of better focuses as well, and that's not even touching our current research options or expanding our Songweaving capabilities...

Yeah and I want to get the resonance action done before Lin dies, if we have to poke chaos, I want him on hand even if @Durin says its safe.

At least the Telepathica should have the critically-important-but-takes-really-long-to-finish construction project done.

But there'll always be Telepathica actions to be done, anyhow, like Mechanus Biologis actions.

(Although if we had more accurate data about invasions, I suspect it'd be delayed a bit, owing to foreseeing casualties among psykers.)

there is always going to be a back log of things to do in most categories. wouldn't be very fun if we could just do everything we wanted and there was never any pressure. though i'm more interested in expansion. get our pop up to where we can field truly massive armies.

We already have massive armies, just not 40k armies.

yes but i want massive armies by 40k standards. we may have to populate the rest of the planet and re-found all our cities, but then we should be able to take on all comers.

We've only just been able to get out of our safe zones and instantly ran into the Sun Beetles and Implantation spiders, so we can't just rush into this.

Lets refound Blacktyde our last destroyed city and connect Duat to the rail system before we start considering another expansion.

There's also population growth to consider.

Actually, we have well over 40,000 men.
I know, its a reference to Warhammer 40K, which you probably know, but I didn't see an Emoji :D.

We were talking about the size of the typical human army of wh40k. a few billion strong. think of all the troops Cadia or Krieg exported every year. except with power armor, a proper medical corp, and juviant treatments.

and i didn't mean to sound like i wanted to rush it. but long game i want power armored zerg troopers. :D

The Avernite natives are unlikely to roll out the read carpet. Quite the opposite, any colonisers are required to proquire their own, often from the blood of their ancestors.
Not quite sure what you mean by this?

Are you refering to "natives" as in avernite sentient and wild life, or Avernite humans?

Not quite what we do, but close enough.

Still we're never going to be a traditional hive world.

As for few billion strong... that's a crusade force.

when the emperor is reborn what do you think is going to happen? i doubt he will just sit around on his thumbs. and where does he get his army? the planet with space marines lite living on it.

Or from Ultramar, or from the other places he warned, other surviving bastions of humanity.

We maybe lucky and survive the 5-15 thousand years before he reincarnates, but even if we colonised the entire planet, its still one planet.

Also "space marine lites" o_O... no not even close.

The former. It just sounded a tinsy winsy optimistic, populating the rest of the planet, that is.
We can do it, but given how the exploration and holding of Duat cost us upwards of 5 million soldiers I think doing it fairly slowly is a good idea.

I'd also like to research the beetles, Hathor beasts and Vector bird before we move on.

Still meeting the Lizard men on the other continent may change things.

Our population is set to grow freely.. for the next 50 years, outside of extremely improbable scenarios (as in, die rolls on popgrowth.) or an unlucky freak accident that sees Dis gone.

And after that it is simply a matter of upgrading our cities into hives to allow it to grow more. We will only max out our cities upgraded to large hives when we have a population in the hundreds of billions. Expansion into the wilds of Averneus will not yield any real benefits population growth wise, although the research possibilities for both the biologis and telepathica are great.

It actually does, it lets us increase the Deathworlder/martial tradition bonuses and upgrading hives is pricey, just look at the cost for a single small hive, never mind Dis, sure we can afford it, but still.

Exploring and establishing new cities is actually cheaper than upgrading our old cities.

@Durin
1. Does the trust mechanicus maintain a fleet?
1a. If so how large is it?
1b. If not why not?

2. Have the inquisition started external spying yet?
2a. In Karnas
2b. In the dragons nest
2c. In valinor

If he say's jump, then we all jump. Welcome to Warhammer.

He'll need to conquer the galaxy (again), be more careful with people he trusts, and maybe do some things differently. Also we may not get their because of how LONG that will take. Durin has something about that in the FAQ somewhere or the OP somewhere. I believe that it will take 10,000 years for him to be reborn but that's out of dodgy memory.
