I'm confused is the campaign finished and were just mopping up, or are there more bits we have to vote on, cause if so then this is getting just a teens weensy bit ridiculous.

Patience guardsmen the campaign is done. But I think were going to have another update soonish about how we left and maybe spend some Government actions decrypting the data taken from the DE. Trust me, everyone and even GM felt this was a bit too long.

By the way Xavier and those Phase Tigers are my personal MVP's for this campaign.

Yeah sorry if that came off the wrong way, just I got to the point of skimming updates.
Of course Xavier and the Phase Tigers are the best, they da &&*&^&*&^&*&* bad-asses, though the Governors Own are in a close second.
Also we need to equipe the phase tigers with the advance infiltration armor!!

Actually.... don't we still have the "special" location and the main city that had been hiding behind the fortress that the Timeless Army just finished with?

I assume the next stage is for us to join up with the Timeless Army and plan the final assault.

We'll probably get stuck fighting in the city again...

O GOD!!.
Sorry, just this started beginning of November and has dragged onto the latter half of January.
Its stretching to say the least.

So does anyone remember what we wanted to do during regular turns cause it's been so long I've forgotten what peace turns are like.
Building a massive cathedral to bring in tourists, donations to the church, disempower cultists, and to honour the Emperor.
Speaking with some Trolls and Siren Ladies to see if they have any lore or passed-down stories.
Doubling-down on Syr's tutoring to critical-success her into sainthood.
Checking up on our fief in Asgard. We've not been a responsible lord when it comes to that piece of land.
Sending the Arbites, the Diviners, and the Inquisition to proof our lunar shipyard (the one with the Dark Age ship) against heretics and Dark Elves. In my opinion, this is extremely high priority.
Filtered for what durin said were good ideas/possible and what we realistically can/want to do. For my cathedral idea, it would be good to reference what a standard cathedral looks like. The monument we're gonna build will make that monstrosity looks small.

Also we need to equipe the phase tigers with the advance infiltration armor!!
Yes, definitely.

Unlikely. We're to the point that victory is inevitable. I predict we'll get three options: One, capture it with our massive army. Two, blow it up for a bit, then capture it with our massive army. Three, get our orbital bombardment, our massive quantity of artillery, and our gigantic psychic choir and tell them to have fun.

I've come up with a few further ideas of what to do when we get home:
Petition the Imperial Navy to patrol our system. There's a great many Dark Age relics in our system and we don't have enough ships to keep them all secure.
Upgrade volunteers from our Governor's Own to make them 'Space Marines Lite': cybernetics and bioaugmentation, mind-strengthening, and omni-disciplinarianism.
Check Blacktyde and other abandoned cities for cultists

1. The Navy has its own things to do and we have a shit ton of Defense Monitors. Once we build some Ancient Defense Cruisers we'll be fine. The Navy also took a large number of losses, and they will be busy defending our shipping from the remaining Dark Eldar raiders.
2. The Governor's Own are already at the level of Space Marine Veterans thanks to their equipment. They really don't need to be forced to go through anything more.
3. Any city that's abandoned is a deathtrap. Without the defenses active, any cultists trying to live there would be hunted down and killed within months at best.

Alright, that's a relief. About the Defense Monitors I mean.

They don't need to be better any more than the Phase Tigers don't need to learn to use recon armour. They're awesome either way but they could still be more awesome.

Really? Really? Underestimating Chaos has never, ever been a good idea. The Inquisition may be insane but they have the right idea when they say that every measure must be taken to ensure that corruption doesn't grow.

Avernus literally takes active measures against Chaos - not the government, the planet itself. If they tried to set up camp in those abandoned, decaying cities they would die as the wildlife would most certainly kill them. This is not a matter of underestimating Chaos, this is a matter of the idea of them trying to set up camp in those places being utterly and completely batshit insane.

Avernite wildlife has been observed specifically targeting Chaos-hotspots. If cultists do indeed form bastions of Chaos in the ruined cities (not bloody likely, Avernite cities have super heavy defense for a reason), then they'll get paid a visit by the nearest Magma Wyrm.

That was the city Elder Haman, the Timeless army blitzed the fortress protecting it in a single day. All that is left is the "special location."

Said 'Special Location' is probally next update and hopefully no real battle. Also overall I think we've done really good except for a massive amount of leadership losses. Troopers can and will come back into the army. An we got to kill at least one of the Archons (If my lore is right they usually lead Kabals which are like SM chapters/organazaations) and take away a potentially new city/haven for the most foul xeno scum.

Are bonuses granted to all omakes or just the immediately relevant ones?
Relevance and how much Durin likes them are big factors, as well as how ambitious they are.
Some omake's just get extra lines added on Durin's random encounter tables, some get a small numeric bonus to one or tow die rolls, some have given us major story bonuses such as the Well of Urd.

@durin
Now that the war turns are over (there will probaly be another recap post) you asked me to post the three Adeptus Munitorum actions again. Here they are:

Got your Back- General Drago put these suggestion foreward in light of the recent campagin against the Dark Eldar. The harassment had cost a great many more lifes than any clash with an army the size of the harassing force would. To prepare the troops for future fights of this sort he suggest to train and equip troopers in harassment tactics to spot them. This would in the future reduce the number of losses suffered by harassment and make the infantry more deadly while harassing. He placed this as low priority as he does not expect to face large amounts of harassment anytime soon again.

Time: ? years.
Chance of Success: ?%

Cost/Upkeep: ?
Reward: Train 1 in (10/20/25) guardsmen (similar to the corpsmen) as a 'Pathfinder' to reduce the casualties of harrasment suffered.
Invisible modifier against harrasment for all troops.

Planning: Skirmisher Regiments- Historical it is most often the job of the light infantry to harass or screen against it. By forming a sub-group of light infantry specialized in these two aspects General Drago beliefs to be able to more effectively perform those two jobs. With some time he is sure to create a composition for these two jobs and how best to re-train part of your current light infantry to fulfill it.

Time: ? years.
Chance of Success: ?%

Cost: ?
Reward: Get composition of Skirmisher Regiments. Expected to have +?(smallish) bonus while harassing or screening against harassment. Special training would greatly reduce their looses against harassment.
New specialist regiment for screening and harassment.

Planning: Ranger Regiments- General Drago suggest to form dedicated regiments to handle fighting deep in Avernus wilderness. Those regiments would be tasked with operations farther away than standard partols reach or to protect other regiments from the wildlife. The focused training and equipment would make them deadly against the wildlife and in harassing actions but they would be of little use outside their trained area. Given the needed training these regiments would be unable to belong to the PDF.

Time: ? years.
Chance of Success: ?%

Cost: ?
Reward: Get composition of Ranger Regiment for each of Avernus terrains for Helltrooper and Hellguard. For Hellguard there will be an additional composition with full or partial power-armor option if useable for the terrain. Expected to have the best possible typ advantage for the terrain, +(largeish) bonus while harassing and against local wildlife, +(largeish) home ground bonus and usage of wildlife in harassing action. Can not be used outside of their trained terrain.
Highly specialist regiment that cheats as much as possible. Avernus only.

Wasn't there another action someone suggested about checking into why people where shooting themselves or causing other injuries to try and alleviate some of the pressure on the system?

Yeah. I put that foreward as well mainly to know if we could get another bonus to skill if we give acess to 'professional gyms and trainer' to our generall population.
That idea was born out of the omakes picturing the standart Avernites as 'training really heavily by themself'. So how about making it 'training really heavily professionally'.
