You know what would be funny? If we had our own cult. Like, they didn't pray to the chaos gods or the emperor, they prayed to us specifically.

That would be awkward as all hell.

Knowing this universe and how the warp works that may just make us into a Saint/benevolent warp entity. I mean we already are, but you know what I mean divine light ect.

I can just imagine Rotbart's prayers after finding out. "O Emperor, who art off recuperating somewhere in the warp, my people have started to worship me as a god. I would ask for your guidance in these troubling times, but, well, yeeeeeah."

Chaos god: "Puny creature. Though your people worship you, you are still not powerful enough to defeat us."

Rotbart: "Well at least I have friends."

Chaos god: ". . . and now I'm sad."

But he's also the only Chaos God tha wouldn't be mocking Rotbart. In fact he'd probably be happy he's taking such good care of his people, though they could do with less cleaning.

Jane: "As it turns out. The reason why we've seen a decline in the number of Chaos cultists is because they're defecting to the Cult of Rotbart."

Fredrick: "Uh, that's bad isn't it?"

Jane: "No actually. If they're praying to you, they're much more stable, happy, and productive and are not nearly as prone to violence and mischief as they would if they were Chaos cultists. In fact, they're better members of society than those who worship the emperor."

Fredrick: "But . . . but what if I were to turn evil?"

Jane: *flat stare*

Fredrick: "I could be evil if I wanted to!"

Freya: "You're so cute when you have your little delusions dear."

Fredrick: *sniff* "But I could be evil. . . I could, really."

Syr: "Daddy is a bit silly sometimes isn't he?"

Fredrick: Sh-Shadup! Go learn to be a nun or something.

Syr: *crys*

Freya: *Angry face* WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY BABY!

She would probably attempt to become a Sister of Battle instead of crying actually. Frustrating both her parents with her shenanigans.

New Assault on Fjol IV Part Twenty-One: Resupply
Assault on Fjol IV Part Twenty-One: Resupply
T=27:12:00-27:18:00

After a bit of thought you decided that the speed and lack of opportunities for harassment provided by landing just outside the outer walls made up for the increased efficiency of the Dark Eldar AA. To weaken the AA you detailed all of your artillery to fire on the Dark Eldar AA positions as soon as they are located.

At the break of dawn ten thousand cargo shuttles begun to descend from the orbiting fleet, escorted by around half of the surviving Imperial Fighter Squadrons. The light of their forces re-entry into the atmosphere covers half of the skies in a display of lights that made it look as if the stars were falling out of the sky.

As they enter the atmosphere AA weapons within the inner city open fire on the approaching aircraft, shooting down thousands in a object lesson in the power and accuracy of Dark Eldar weaponry. As soon as the Dark Eldar AA opened fire Marauder Vigilantes within the airforce and Monitors Scout Cars on the ground begun the process of locating the Dark Eldar AA for your readied artillery regiments. Despite some brilliant targeting and accuracy the Dark Eldar defences hold against your massed artillery keeping damage to little over 10% for the first half hour.

4d6*2=20*2=40 Armed Cargo Wings shot down

kills 7d6/2=37/2=18.5 Regiments of Dark Eldar AA killed
penalty 3d6/2=15/2=7 from next AA attack roll

As the landers reached the middle atmosphere more of the Dark Eldar AA opened fire, taking out a major portion of the descending fighters and some more of the cargo wings. This period was the optimal time for the Dark Eldar fighters to attack and their absence strongly suggests that they will not be getting involved. By the time that the airforce had landed over four thousand Imperial fighters had been shot down along with one and a half thousand cargo shuttles. In return forty thousand Dark Eldar AA guns had been silenced, greatly reducing the threat that the Dark Eldar AA has on your airforces for the future.

It took an hour for the cargo shuttles to be totally unloaded and another two for the landed planes to be brought within the outer city where they can be protected until the inner city is taken. The supplies that have been unloaded will allow your forces to fight at full capacity for another thirteen days which will be more then enough time to take the outer city making future supply runs far easier.
T=27:14:00-27:18:00

Now that you have no real supply constraints it is time for you to make a decision on how long you should wait before attacking the inner city. If you want to provide support for any of the other armies it would be best to attack sooner but otherwise there are no major problems with taking your time. As always you will also have to decide how to split your fire among the possible targets.
[] Maintain the bombardment for one day before attacking- This will allow you to inflict a moderate amount of damage to the areas on the other side of the breaches and slightly expand the breaches but will not be enough time to inflict major damage/
[] Maintain the bombardment for two days before attacking- This will allow you to inflict a large amount of damage to the areas on the other side of the breaches and severely expand the breaches but will not be enough time to inflict major damage to the inner city.
[] Maintain the bombardment for four days before attacking- This will allow you to inflict a massive amount of damage to the areas on the other side of the breaches and greatly expand the breaches as well as inflict major damage to the inner city in general but will not be enough time to create any new breaches in the outer wall.
[] Maintain the bombardment for a week before attacking- This will allow you to inflict a large amount of damage to any target but the inner wall and to create some small breaches in the inner walls.
[] Maintain the bombardment for twelve days before attacking- This will allow you to inflict a large amount of damage to any target but the inner wall and to create some major breaches in the inner walls.
First vote for how many targets you want and then vote for targets.

[] Concentrate fire on one target.- This will allow your artillery to have a major impact on the selected target at the expense of have no effect on the other targets.
[] Split fire between two targets.- This will allow your artillery to target multiple areas while still having a significant impact.
[] Split fire between three targets.- This will inflict a moderate at best amount of damage to most the the targets.
[] Split fire between all four targets- This will cause the least damage to all possible targets.
[] Write In

[] Target the current breaches.- This will enlarge the breaches in the inner walls allowing more men to attack them when the time comes.
[] Target the inner walls. - Target the remaining inner walls and create new breaches that your forces can attack though.
[] Target the inner city.- Firing into the inner city with an aim to ruin as much of it as possible would most likely kill a decent number of slave-soldiers and some Dark Eldar as well as reducing the benefit of the Dark Eldar's knowledge of the city. This option will make taking and holding the inner city easier when the time comes for it.
[] Target far side of the breaches.- Firing into the far side of the breaches in the inner walls will make it far easier to take a small section of the inner city and make it harder for the Dark Eldar to build additional layers of fortification on the other side of the breaches.
[] Write in target

Let's just hope Rotbart never actually turns, because that would be the end of days for the human race. Reduced to nothing more than cattle and playthings for the Dark Gods as world after world is conquered and pillaged. The only sounds that can be heard over the butchering and violation of human life is the marching of power armor and a manic laughter.

Can we do some orbital bombardment on the city or at least doing high altitude drops by the bombers on the city?

sadly, our popularity took a real hit over some prolonged period of disaster since the death of the emperor and the fight with the cults, and we never really bothered to boost it back up to the same insane levels as before since it is still amazingly high

Those were some bad rolls...

I think we still need to do a little more work opening up the breaches. After the previous round of bombardment, the current status of the breaches was this:
These breaches range from three hundred meters to five hundred meters and are large enough to send a decent sized attack force though, though as things stand you will have issues sending large groups though the breaches and will be outnumbered for a while.
I'd rather them be further opened up, not providing extra chokepoints against our troops if possible. 5 days to pound the far side of the breaches and 7 days of blowing up the rest of the inner city seems like enough time to me.

@durin is this split firing plan allowed?
