Wheel of Fortune: Denial of Predestination. There was possibility of asking Educator to give tools to work with threads of Fate. And it gives me ideas. Possible uses and ideas I got in my head:
1. Shears - to cut knots and threads. Because one working with threads must be able to do it. May be ultimate move of the Role.
2. Dyes - to change colours of threads. Because tapestry doesn't made of one colour and all threads are different. So maybe we can dye the thread to make it to get to the same goal as it should, but in a different way and influencing things around. Thread did not change position, but the new color still affected the pattern.
3. Treat relationships between people as Threads of Fate. Because if people linked like this, then it means their Fates are intertwined. When something happens to the one - it would pull the other.
4. Treat gravity as Threads of Fate. Because gravity is just a predestined path caused by the curvature of space-time. This is not a force - this is literally the fate of the object to be in a certain place and time. This why you cannot escape the event horizon - your Fate leads only deeper inside of it.
5. Unweave the object's Thread of Fate into many smaller fibers for finer control. We can give each part of the object its own fate to, for example, tear it apart. All threads are made of smaller ones - this is a fact, because objects can be divided and each part may have its own unique Fate.
6. Try to find the beginning of the Thread of Fate for the object. Because Fate is not something in the future - its also in the past. It just frozen back there wthout some time-travel.
7. Make a loop of the Thread of Fate so that the future leads to the past. Will an object with such a fate end up in a time loop?
8. Make every blow to wove new Threads into the Tapestry of others Fate. Like, wove gravity Threads of other objects to make them go towards the target. Gravity is manifestation of Fate as was said before.
9. Maybe make probabilistic interactions of elementary particles into Fated outcomes. I feel it has potential to affect things as light, because its made of many probabilities and statistics. We just need a way to affect the scales.
10. Can we change state of matter via affecting Rates of particles in made of? Just make all fibers move in one direction in specific moment to make all energy go to the side of their movement. Trasnform heat into mechanical wave.
11. Check on the Fate Tapestry to see, if someone use precognition to change future. It should be reasonable? If someone tries to see our future, in which we change Fate and trying to know how, it means we should see some signs in the present.
I think we could still make the material threads of our power cursed so that every blow of this thread is woven into the fate of the target, bringing it closer to death.
(Not to be confused with that one superhero setting with the Russian Gun-toting Batman Anime Girl.)
For thousands of years humanity has attempted to prove Moral Realism as the true absolute model of Ethics. From Plato tying it to his ideas to Religion later on, a lot of people want the idea that the right thing to do is a set in stone objective truth as gravity is.
Penelope couldn't believe that it was anything more than absolute, undeniable, Cope.
Cope, Cope, cope.
How could anyone see that school of thought as anything else?! When even gravity was something to be disproven, as a matter of fact there were hundreds of people who disproved the laws of physics casually and dozens of them left education on a regular basis. Her parents did it. A regular basis, it was practically their job.
She then used a large amount of mental fortitude to stifle a sigh and stop herself from letting her head fall on her desk.
It was a bad time to remember her private philosophy lessons and she could do less with thinking about old Greek guys and their beliefs, despite how much her dad enjoyed ancient Hellenic crap. You didn't name yourself Olympian if you weren't a fan in some ways.
Probably why she was named after a female figure known for her shrewdness, loyalty and patience. Or maybe she was named this way because in some traditions she cheats on Odysseus with all suitors and gives birth to Pan, the embodiment of natural chaos.
If she was their hope for the future though why not pick a name like Athena or feminization of a heroic name. Unless they wanted her to weave her way out of problems. It wasn't like being named Atlanta Storm or something would make her stand out any less than Penelope.
Though it seems like it wouldn't be something her goody two shoes old man would do. It would certainly have some fucked connotations, luckily her father hasn't displayed any telltale signs of the evil superman trope. He had a good relationship with his family, he doesn't talk about humans as mortals, or inferiors or anything. He can get rough with bad guys though, however most of those bad guys can take it. The Metaphysicist can more than take it actually, according to several fanfics her fellow students have published online.
Mpreg is so fucked up. She could only flag so many before she realised her best bet is to simply ignore that they exist, for her own mental health.
It was not easy being their daughter. She had to carry the expectations of the people who carried the expectations of the entire world, and she didn't have superpowers, not yet. This was it though, the hours upon hours of extra curricular training, the lifetime of being the perfect child to embody their expectations.
This was gonna be the moment to rise up to the occasion. Even with Solomon's freaky precognition she still held a massive sway of the class, she could angle for whatever role she wanted.
The Sun, World and Emperor stood out to her as classical leadership and powerful roles. Though all in different capacities depending on varied interpretations.
Why the fuck did it have to be tarot cards though? Why couldn't it be super duper ultra God's or like at least something where there was a clear best option, like with the Evil Mastermind or her dad for fuck's sake!
Even thinking of that Saturday Cartoon villain made her upset, though a lot of things made her upset. Still she felt like it was a fair emotion to have over the fact that her dad's arch Nemesis could be and is likely plotting his demise through her. She really was a secondary character in their story, she just hoped this was her being set up for a future story where she was the protagonist instead of a tragic turn where she gets assassinated at her moment of glory. Though from what she knew of her classmates, it would be extremely lame of her to get put down by any of them except the Senator maybe. At least he had the build and if he was revealed to be acting this entire time at least it would be a good twist.
Once more she used her immense self control to not groan in indignation.
Maybe this actually was her chance to escape it all. She could with the Moon or something and slowly and steadily escape to the shadows and take some time thinking about what she would like to do with her life as opposed to what was expected of her.
She wasn't gonna take drugs or go mental with evil, maybe take a couple years or decades consuming mindless media and eating copious amounts of ice cream. That sounded nice, not doing anything.
If she wasn't bothered by the idea of disappointing her ageing parents she would have maybe probably gone for it. There were other people obsessed with being good people, it didn't have to be her. Though at the same time she didn't hate the idea of being the next Olympian for the world, it was just that she didn't really know what else was available to her realistically. It would be nice to window shop a bit for a casket before hammering the nails in.
She couldn't hold it back any longer as she broke the tip of her pencil against the notebook by pressing too hard.
Letting her thoughts roam freely she simply began to just feel bad. On one hand, she wasn't immediately and undoubtedly jumping to her birthright of being the class leader and paragon and on the other hand she wasn't willing to truly consider what her happiness away from common perception would be like.
Sun and Moon, day and night. She had to pick which side she would live on and there was probably no going back. Tarots were up to interpretation but you couldn't really argue that the Sun should allow to retreat from the view of the crowds and maybe explore the world, find out about why things happen and what her parents hide from her. Same thing for the moon, you can't see it and expect to stand as a sole undeniable paragon of Virtue and source of power for people to rely on.
She looked up from her notebook and at the regular sized blackboard with way too many words written out clearly. Maybe this was actually the moment her namesake would do something and she would have an epiphany.
Weave a shrewd tapestry where she could both be someone to be relied on, where she could have the knowledge kept away from her, where she didn't have to be the Olympian or the recluse who turns away from the world.
The High Priestess smiled back from the drawing on the board, as if it already knew.

If we're concerned about the power level of Wheel of Fortune: Denial of Predestination, we could go for a Write in. Same cost as Cultivator, and we could choose a general boost or advance on a specific spot. Thoughts?
No same endgame potential yes. If I actually cared that much about just power, I would consider Cultivator a better choice than Wheel. I meant more of a "we must spend the credits right now", or if it would make it stronger by spending credits at all. Does anybody know if we can actually do it?

With this power, everything seems to be in order and it does not have such obvious shortcomings that the King of Magi has.
So if we want to make this role stronger, it's better to wait until we start developing our strength and then buy the appropriate talent, at least this strategy worked in another Birdsie quest.
I would encourage people who really don't want Wheel of Fortune to vote for both Hermit and King of Magi. I'd certainly prefer either of these over Wheel of Fortune and I hope that a few people share my preferences.

As I said earlier, at a suggestion of some folks over on Discord, I decided to write a Wheel of Fortune EFB option. This is the first draft and I encourage anyone interested to give their feedback.
[ ] Wheel of Fortune: Master of the Forked Road [250 Will, 25 SC]
Life, they say, is a series of choices. Every decision, no matter how minor, is a fork on the road of one's destiny. Even the dead matter is subject to numerous random events. Existence is following blindly in the direction it perceives as "forwards".
Not you, though.
You are the Master of Forked Road. For you, the infinite tapestry of choices and destinies is as clear as a map of your home, free to traverse in any way you desire or to move others to the paths they need to tread. No force in reality can affect what you declare to Must Be and even the most improbable scenario can occur with your interventions.
*From the start, your understanding of Fortune will involve not just Fate, but also Probability. You will be able to perceive all results of random events ahead of time and possess the capability to manipulate them, increasing or decreasing probabilities. As you progress, this ability will only continue increasing in scope and capability: start by arranging a series of unlikely coincidences or make casinos cry, end with manipulating quantum mechanics or twisting a near-certain asteroid impact into an event less probable than flying pigs.
*Your foresight will grow from predicting the future into predicting ALL futures. This will allow you to see every possible series of events stemming from the moment of now, like a map of the roads you can take. Your mental capabilities will grow so that comprehending and navigating possible futures will be as easy and instinctive as navigating your home. With the ability to influence probabilities, you will also be able to push for futures you want to happen, making actions that fulfil them easier. Apply enough force and no power will be able to prevent your designed future from coming to pass. Inversely, you can make certain actions harder or downright impossible by pushing away the futures where they occur.
*If you choose to, you can affect paths of the future in a more direct and physical way. Twist and muddle them to confuse your enemies, push someone from one road to another to change their destiny or chart a new path and find a third option where there was none before. While redundant to a degree, you can also claim mastery over physical roads and paths.
*Actions have consequences, especially actions that change what hasn't happened yet. The futures have certain inertia and changes you make will be very hard to undo. And since time is a set of communicating vessels, your actions will often influence many seemingly unrelated events that can (and often will) be hard to manage without potentially dangerous knock-off effects.
The opportunity to see all possible futures seems too powerful even by the standards of a role for 25 credits. It's probably better to limit the number of futures available for viewing by a percentage of probability, for example, all futures with a probability greater than 5 percent are available for viewing, or choose another criterion.
It is also probably worth delineating the boundaries of the disadvantage more clearly, since with such a formulation, even a small change in probability can overtake us after many years passing through causal relationships.
I would also suggest adding a passive sense of danger for one day and a sense of manipulation with fate and probabilities. Because they will be useful but given the predictive power of the role will not look out of place.
Birdsie has clarified the King of Magi weakness -
*It is difficult to change outcomes that you yourself have predicted (this is the majority of the drawback)
*You are NOT more vulnerable to fate manipulation and effects like the Wheel of Fortune than any other wizard (!!)
*You should follow the contours of general fortune. For example, if Bob were fated to win over Alice, even unbeknownst you, you'd find it more difficult (though not impossible, especially if you are mighty) to cause Bob to lose to Alice. It'd be more profitable for you to find a way to share in Bob's victory, or render the contest itself less salient, etc.
I wonder if this flaw is due to the fact that Solomon predicts the future too well or because of his own metaphysical limitation?
If the former, then perhaps the destruction of our prophecies will be inconvenient for all other manipulators of fate. This can be quite an interesting way to limit the powers of such roles.
Made a really shit omake in the point of Nerd's view
Damien Nash travelled to school by walking, something that left him thinking unnecessary thoughts like what the bullies would do this year. If they would shove him in a locker again or get worse.
Damien finally reached school, slightly out of breath from the work. As usual, he was there early. Much earlier than anyone else; so much so that even the courtyard was empty.
Damien entered the building while reading his book Chimitango Bruised Bananas. A wonderful book filled with mystery and romance, about two bananas doing the horizontal tango with each other. It was a truly insightful book on the nature of human existence.
Pausing, Damien stopped to drink from his bottle yet his body failed him once more. His hands fumbled with the clasp and the contents of the bottle spilled onto the wood-looking floor (not actual wood, as if the school would spend that much money). Cursing, Damien closed his bottle and avoided the orange juice spill and continued his walk to the classroom.
Entering the classroom, Damien really had one choice even if the class was empty. After all, where else could one sit and dramatically sigh at life but the window. And thus. Damien stared out the window thinking.
How great it would be if he could get powers, just like Olympus or maybe even the Metaphysicist.
Solomon Lancaster interrupted the usual routine, turning to face Damien and said "Hey Nash, How's your day been?"
Damien replied with the first thing that came to mind, to quickly for him to stop his mouth saying "You're not usually this talkative".
Solomon looked almost offended and replied "You aren't usually either".
Damien muttered under his breath, "Smartass".
Solomon then started to tip his chair backwards and said "I have incredible news for you."
"Do you?"
"Yeah. The most incredible news."
"I'm all ears"
"Starting from about today, no one's gonna pick on you anymore. It'll be too dangerous. Especially if you aren't too stupid with your choices. Fuck, if you apologize to me after this and ask nicely, I'll even help you make the best ones to scare Josh and Francis off."
Arching an eyebrow, Damien looked at Solomon like he would at an asylum escapee, dropping his arm to the desk. "What are you on about?"
"What if I told you that you'll get superpowers today?"
"Yeah, right." Damien snorted in response, and then opened his book and continued reading.
Man, Josh's way of bullying me is getting wilder and wilder. Also, this is a beautiful description, I wonder if it's even possible.
"You're skeptical. Just like that one time I warned you that you'd get stuffed in a locker in June, and you didn't believe me, because 'it does not make sense for you to be anywhere near school in June.' You didn't heed my advice then. Maybe you should heed it now?"
"Ugh, you're being freakier than Olivia." Damien retreated even further into the story of Bruised Bananas, and visibly disabled his interest in processing audible sound.
"Alright. Fair enough," said Solomon, "Just don't call me a freak again when you can throw fireballs. I'm so nice and happy today that I'll preemptively forgive you anything you say until we get there."
"Uh-huh." Damien replied, engrossed in the bananas becoming brusied after so much tango-ing.
Then the Educator arrived and Damien stared at Solomon, wondering how he knew that.
I've been spitballing ideas for a 25 Credit version of the Pagan Devil with Brightwing. Here's one for people fond of the introspective nature of the Hermit but with a darker bent. I don't think anything's been greenlit yet though.
[ ] The Devil: Paganism - Arts forbidden unfold at the fingertips of those who dare to raise them up, magics and evils revealed to a deity that doesn't care about moral impositions and society. Mind over matter, and matter over spirit: all drawn in a circle that binds. Do as thou wilt.
*Wand of Divine Will: The Wand which wills dreams into reality and illusions. FMA Style circleless matter transmutation that becomes stronger when it synergizes with your desires.
*As a result of passively wishing to continue living a happy (?) life, you gain supernal longevity; potentially even immortality. For some reason, time manipulation comes to you with surprising ease as well, compounding to ensure you'll always have more of it.
*You possess the ability to manifest the gates of matter to summon Goetic Demons with powers based on aspects of your personality given an hours meditation per demon. Their power scales with the intensity of the associated aspect. Their powers are also connected to the associated aspect of your personality. Think Exalted 3e Intimacies or the 7 Deadly Sins for examples of valid bases for a Goetic Demon. Their cooperation is not ensured and should one be destroyed by anything short of high end esoteric attacks, it will reform inside your brain. This process causes noticable psychological damage.
Ayin's Vision: Through the mystical connection to the Hebrew letter Ayin, Capricorn gains True perception, allowing them to see Truth of all things. Illusions fade, mysteries unravel, souls lay bare before him.
*Additionally, you can enter binding pacts with mortals and your goetic Demons, conferring upon them similar capacities to yourself, or granting them wishes by your own power. The contents of the contracts are binding, although they don't have to know that. Contracts default to binding subjects by the letter, however if all are aware the contract is magically binding they can bind in spirit. All that is needed to seal a contract is a verbal agreement made in truth, using no unnatural coercion.
Other ideas that have come up include
1. Supernatural persuasion at getting people to indulge their rebellious/violent desires
2. Hundredfold willpower multiplier for the Arcanist effect in the original version
3. Starting with immortality and higher potential for time manipulation(Able to reach 5 second time stop, make a 40x time dilation chamber, replicate king Crimson's power, etc)
4. Making contracts with supernatural entities in general
5. Lung Style Scaling to Worthy opponents
Just got a funny idea, which could be Wheel of Fortune. Well, too bad I thought about it so late. But let it just be here, perhaps? Wheel of Fortune - Probabilistic Mage
As a Probabilistic Mage, you possess the peculiar ability to bend reality in unconventional ways. However, your power is most effective when you constantly come up with new and intriguing ideas for achieving your desired outcomes. It also helps to avoid strict observers who may hinder your abilities. For instance, you can effortlessly conjure simple objects out of thin air, but it becomes considerably more challenging if someone is closely scrutinizing your every move. Similarly, if you wish to teleport, you must vary your methods each time to not be too predictable. Perhaps once you spontaneously appear in a different location, while other times you unzip space-time to create a portal. Your magic thrives on improvisation and being captivating. Your role is to distract the universe just enough to accomplish your goals. However, it is easier to manipulate the universe when it aligns with its natural tendencies. For example, igniting a puddle of gasoline is effortless since it is highly probable. The most fascinating aspect of your magic is the ability to halt time, enabling you to contemplate your next move. Although you are unable to physically move in this state, everything around you freezes in shades of gray, allowing you to survey your surroundings and strategize.
Another power of the Probabilistic Mage is the ability to disrupt and distort the predictions of other precognitive individuals. When you unleash this aspect of your magic, the predictions of those around you become muddled, distorted, and unreliable. Your presence creates a chaotic interference that scrambles the accuracy and clarity of their foresight. Other precognitive individuals find it challenging to decipher the true meaning or outcome of events when in your vicinity. This power grants you a unique advantage in manipulating fate, as you can disrupt the predictions of others and shape the course of events in your favor. It works by making outcomes of you magic a bit depended on what the precognitive seeing with their ability - magic changes, when they see something about outcome or process, fact of observation making thing different. Sort of infohazard.
Wheel of Fortune -Probabilistic Shifter
With the power to manipulate local space, you can transform it into a probabilistic existence similar to a wave function. Within this bubble, multiple events unfold simultaneously in superposition, giving rise to different timelines for local area. However, only you possess the ability to determine which timeline manifests as the true reality. In each of these branching timelines, you embark on unique paths, exploring diverse scenarios and possibilities. You live in all of them at once, while other people only see one timeline. When someone enters this space, they become entangled in the branching local timelines, experiencing their own version of events within probable timeline.
When the bubble is eventually dissolved, and all timelines collapse into a single true reality, living creatures retain memories and experiences from all the timelines they were a part of (if they are still alive). This amalgamation of memories can be overwhelming and traumatic, as individuals lack your ability to process and reconcile multiple timelines. Experiencing too many timelines at once can lead to a state of catatonia, as the mind struggles to comprehend the complexity and contradictions. From an external perspective, the existing bubble appears as if all the timelines are occurring simultaneously, layered upon each other. This creates a visually confusing and intricate display of events.
