You're right. I have options for dealing with giant robots. My faction is nothing but options. And only half of them require making the GM believe a questionable interpretation about what "Destroy target artifact" means in the real world.

My faction is all ten guilds of Ravnica. It's all the fun of playing Ankh-Morpork, but backed up by actual firepower.
Eh, Old School Phyrexia became New School Phyrexia and I don't see much of a reason not to go with the current edition of Phyrexia.
Still, I'd rather stick with the Zerg; that way I can stick to being a neutral, maybe good someday, faction rather than being Evil.

Personally, I'm going to be expanding westward as quickly as possible, to escape from the Technocracy. I just planted myself there so I'd have at least one NPC faction to deal with. I wasn't quite anticipating nearly half of the PC nations picking Teragra as well.

If the Cabal were any less aggressive I'd just keep that NPC to my southeast alive just as a buffer.
Unfortunately the Cabal aren't into such weak and dishonorable things such as "letting somebody fight for you." And meatshields.

Umm, to be honest, I don't plan on much aggressive expansion. My sheet is specced for peace, trading, and espionage, not wars of conquest.
