#StickiedForAReason
Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

@OnlineArmadillo can you define your choices as a plan so I can just vote for that. I agree with the choices and have similar reasoning for all of them.

[X] Plan OnlineArmadillo

-[X] Leave it in the bank for now. It will be safer there than at your manor.

-[X] Keep it a secret (for now) and talk it over with Dany. She is our partner. She deserves to have a say.

-[X] Talk it over with Daenerys and see what she suggests

-[X] Take out more money to keep on hand. You're wealthy now and need to act like it all the time. (Write-in how much.)
--[X] 3GT, 20GD, 25SD, 50 CW (Total on hand)

-[X] Take out the rare books to study.
--[X] Blood and Fire
--[X] Dragons, Wyrms, and Wyverns: Their Unnatural History
---[X] Ask the bank about obtaining the services of a scribe to make copies of your books.

[X] Plan OnlineArmadillo

A stiff breeze could knock us over. Bring it out is just asking for it to be stolen, given that weapons can go for kingdoms. Until we have an army or sizable contingent of armed loyal retainers around us, lets leave it in there. Let's keep the wealth a secret for now so we can utilize the secrecy to build upon. Use it to acquire land, businesses and men...and by then it'd naturally be known that we are wealthy without proclaiming it at all.

[X] Wait for fame as well.

We'll coin the term 'Loan Dragon'

But again, these are just the crazy things flying around inside my head.

They get loose sometimes and go forth to spread equal amounts of joy and despair (depending on your sense of humor).

Edit: I'm not just talking about Tywin anyway. No need for the sarcasm Luna :eyeroll: I'm just trying to get all these Lurkers motivated to participate more :drevil:

Even if they come in with reasons why something wouldn't work, I've succeeded in my task

Even stupid ideas can get a conversation started, I've found.
Heh. You know I gotta be sarcastic. Can't help it. But I'm jokingly so, or at least that is the tone you should hear when you read it. You'd see it more in the discord if you were active more. I kid a lot.

But yeah, the banking bit could be a great idea, just not to Tywin, especially not secretly.

So, for future reference: If you want to vote as someone else did their votes don't have to be in plan format. Just make a vote like this:

[] Username

And you'll copy the vote of whatever user you put. Do still use the format I described in the voting instructions though for weekly votes. I'm about to edit it now for this info.

I have no idea how to work this website...and I run a quest. I usually just ask what won.

[X] You will use this. You can stop training in dual weaponry and have this as a symbol of your might and power.

Why give the shield to deanerys? If we are in a situation where the wife has to be on the front lines, then we are already in deep manure.

:???:

Um... maybe go back and read the chapter again. We've got plenty of actions left to get through for this decision arc. Also Luna wants specific choices for things like the money and books.

She's training in a style favoring agile sword and board. Plus she is going to be a Targaryen queen modeled after Aegon the Conqueror's sister-wives.

So far, she's been more of a manager than anything else, and I do not think the trend will reverse anytime soon. And Aegon has already had one near death experience, so we should be working to avoid another.

The trend will change down the line, so she should get training in when we aren't in immediate danger (like now). Conflict on a large scale is inevitable for our characters (at least if we want to get anything done).

Plus you never know what kind of situations may come up. We've just begun this journey to greatness after all.

And Aegon has duel wielding. Something a number of us have plans for.

But vote however you see fit :D

That is the point of Quests after all.

Hah, wow last minute vote for me. I didn't realize the deadline was so soon. I'm still happy with the plan that won though, none of the plans were bad

@Lunasmeow

Am I close?

Then she pulls back eyes searching yours for the slightest hint of deceit.

Echoes of the first vision – cautious, some what hesitant to believe.

When you look her directly in the eye and nod she squeals again and peppers your face with butterfly kisses. "When will we be married? Oh, there's so much to plan!"

Third vision Dany returns.

Daenerys looks back at you instantly, her attitude once more doubtful and hesitant. "What do you mean?" she asks uncertainly.

Distrustful of us.

Dany's hesitance drops away and steel once more settles into her face. "But we will marry? You give me your oath? By your honor, your blood, and our name? By the 14 flames from which we sprang?"

A thrice sworn oath is given before the gods they say, and she has asked it of you.

I'd suggest that the aforementioned points and this in particular is very important – we are, by some distance, the person which Dany cares for most in the world and thus the ones she should trust. Her first reaction is distrust, followed by an almost Machiavellian plot to get us to swear an oath before the gods, a thrice bound oath (three appears to be a magically significant number – perhaps the Valyrian equivalent to seven? Three heads of the Dragon?).

This may seem like a cute moment but it shows the steel of Dany in getting her ambition – we could not back out of this even of we wanted to, without ruining anything we have with the gods – we are stuck. This is pure vision one Dany.

"Aye," you agree solemnly. "Once fame and fortune are ours, or three years hence, whichever occurs first." You could almost swear that you feel your blood rushing through your veins, heated at twice the normal temperature. The doubt leaves Dany's eyes almost instantly, replaced by an intensity that practically shimmers; a trick of the sun's light no doubt.

I'd bet anything that the trick of the sun's light was no trick. She hides some of herself from us – the unfeminine greed – a typical draconic habit.

She smiles once more, placated by your words and places another light kiss upon your face. "Then I am content," she says once more back to her normal self.

And Dany is happy. Normal Dany, or vision three Dany is back.

---

What I'm getting from this is that whilst Dany is normally the flirty, happy girl who we know and love, looking more closely we can see a few underlying traits covered by the gregarious exterior.

She's distrustful, which is probably wise after years on the run, but she's distrustful of us as well. Maybe this has something to do with Viserys leaving, and a fear we'll leave to – which may be why the instance on marriage arises.

She's ambitious and somewhat greedy, but more she's a little cunning, able to manipulate us into binding our promise before the gods – I suspect that Dany won't be going around screaming 'where are my dragons' in this quest.

Basically, she smart, she loyal, but she could go mad and use us as a sex slave. Flip a coin.

Very interested to hear what she's been keeping from us.

Edit: typed up on phone, please over look any SPAG mistakes
Hmm. I think I'll give you another hint. 3 being special has nothing to do with Valyria or its gods. But you're right. Three is special. Why, I wonder?

Will they find out about the Dothraki horde? We might be able to contribute to Braavos's defense. We should go on the offensive, working together with the Braavosi to hire merc companies to attack the Dothraki before they can make a demand to the Sealord asking for Dany. This would keep us safe and also hopefully gain us prestige and influence in the city.
Performing well against the Dothraki, whether personally or by proxy, would indeed give great prestige throughout the city. And prestige carries a level of influence all of its own...

Stretching One's Wings - Part Eight
Winning Vote

Treat the knowledge with caution. Magic is still new to you, and while the knowledge of the future may be helpful, you don't want to lose who Danerys is to whoever this "future self" is either.

Major Decisions: Aegon
Take Matalarr and meet with the Valyrian worshipers. Get to know each member by name. If they ask about your blessings, show them something simple. Like fire immunity. Take Jorah to the market and commission a pendant for Dany's nameday. Design: Two entwined dragons for yourself and Dany. The dragons will be encircled by an Ouroboros styled Dragon to symbolize Viserys' self-sacrificing protection. Materials: Gold (Aegon's dragon is yellow gold, white gold for Dany's, and red gold for Viserys'). Rubies for accents and purple dragonglass for eyes. The combination of gold and ruby shall evoke the appearance of flame. Add a High Valyrian inscription: Va moriot hen Drakarys (Forever of Dragonfire) Hēnkirī isse Ānogar (Together in Blood).
Sell some of Illyrio's gem encrusted statues to pay for it.

Minor Decisions: Aegon
See to the summons from the Iron Bank. Train with Matalarr. Train your battlemagic.

Free Actions: Aegon
Talk with Ser Jorah, Boromun & Matalarr each in turn.

Major Decisions: Daenerys
Explore your scrying magic. Go out with Boramun and listen for news and rumors.

Minor Decisions: Daenerys
Train with your tutors. (Household management/Stewardship.) Try to hatch the dragon eggs. Train with Matalarr.

Free Actions: Daenerys
Talk with Jaehaelyx & Saenera each in turn. Talk with Aegon.

Winning Sub-vote

Leave the shield in the bank for now. It will be safer there than at your manor. You also will attempt to keep your new wealth a secret for now and decide whether to reveal it or not after talking with Daenerys. You need to talk with her anyway since marriage is now a realistic option, especially if you decide to flaunt your wealth. You're going to take out more money to keep on hand. You're wealthy now and need to act like it. 3GT, 20GD, 25SD, 50 CW to generally keep on-hand should do. You especially want to take out some of the rare books to study. Two specifically: Blood & Fire and Dragons, Wyrms, and Wyverns: Their Unnatural History. You'll have to look through the other unknown titles to see if there is anything else of import at some other time. You should probably also ask the bank about obtaining the services of a scribe to make copies of your books. Many of these are rare in this day and age. You'd hate to lose such a trove of knowledge no matter whether due to accident or intention. Knowledge is power, and you need all you can get.

Stretching One's Wings - Part Eight
First Week of the Sixth Month 297 AC

Whatever reasons Illyrio has for backing you are irrelevant at the moment. He's one to look out for certainly, but if he still has reason to help you then perhaps he might not be exactly an enemy after all. Or this could all be a ploy so that you feel comfortable meeting him in person and he has his Unsullied kill you at the meeting. Either is possible really. Right now you have more pertinent decisions.

You visit the storage area and withdraw more coin to carry on-hand, as well as pulling out two books, Blood & Fire, and Dragons, Wyrms, and Wyverns: Their Unnatural History. There are literal libraries of books here though so you'll have to look through the other unknown titles to see if there is anything else of import at some other time. Any library kept by ancient Targaryen royalty is knowledge worth learning. Especially if Jaehaerys the Conciliator, wisest of all the Targaryen kings of Westeros, thought them worth saving. Who knows how many other books came from later generations, but at least some were put there by him. His wisdom was legendary, and it would do you well to make use of it. He apparently had the foresight to protect his descendants even if they somehow lost the Iron Throne after all.

When you get home from the Iron Bank you are told that Dany is downstairs in the basement. You head down to see her burning the eggs once again. Dany tells you that she thinks that the bit of stone that had been removed from the previous burning had returned, so you apparently are going to need to burn the eggs constantly. She isn't sure exactly when the stone covering grew back, but it took at least two weeks of inactivity. If you want to depetrify these eggs, you're going to need them burning at least once every two weeks. Then you've still got to figure out how to hatch them.

"Well," you respond, showing her the books you brought home. "At least now we might have some clues as to how to actually hatch them."

When you show her the books and explain what happened at the bank she is clearly excited. She's always been more interested in the lore of the past than you were, and you know she'll devour these books the first chance she gets. But the books can wait. You're here to talk about something more important than that.

"Dany," you say, taking a much more serious tone. "Theres... something else to consider."

Daenerys looks up from the books questioningly. "What then?" she asks, her tone trusting as always when dealing with you.

"We're, well wealthy. Ridiculously wealthy. We can either hide it and continue as we were, or reveal it. If we reveal it, being that wealthy would make us... famous in a sense." You meet her eyes and say three meaningful words. "Fame and fortune."

Dany's eyes are confused for just a moment before comprehension dawns. "Are- are you saying that we," her voice is practically shaking with hopeful excitement.

"We can. I promised to you that we would, and we shall. I just want to discuss whether or not revealing our wealth would be... prudent just yet," you say. After all, information is power. Information that no one else has is more powerful than any other.

Unfortunately at your words her eyes and voice lost their hopeful tones and turn depressed and disappointed. "You've changed your mind," she whispers almost to herself. Her shoulders slump and she seems to collapse into herself. "Or... maybe you never wanted to in the first place and were just putting me off."

What do you do? How do you handle this?

[] Write-in.

Sometimes when we men try to be logical, the women in our lives see the emotional aspect and misunderstand our motives. Any of you who've ever had a relationship with a woman, well... You know how that goes. Time to fix it.

Also, that "unofficial" engagement gift may just become an official one. Well well well. Might be a good idea that it was so extravagant after all...

:jackiechan: Women! (I joke, don't hurt me :p)

[X] Plan: To Dany with Love
-[X] Look deep within yourself, and summon all the passion you have in your heart!
-[X] Carefully bring her face up to yours and kiss her sweetly.
-[X] Look into her eyes and say:

Daenerys. I love you more than I can say. Not simply as a brother loves his sister, but also as a man must love a woman. We have been together nearly our entire lives, separated only by a scant few months.

The sound of your laughter is one of my first clear memories. One that kept me warm on those cold nights that we spent destitute, huddled under filthy rags, and dreaming of a brighter future.

I made a vow to you that day upon my honor, my blood, and our family's name. By the 14 flames from which we sprang that I would take you to wife. I stand by that vow, and do reaffirm it to you here and now.

When I realized that fortune had found us, my thoughts almost immediately turned to you. But it also turned to the dangers that such a sudden windfall will bring. If we do this then a thousand eyes will be fixed upon us, not all of them friendly.

Never for a moment did I think we should not become man and wife. And I am hurt that you would accuse me of lying to you, off all people! I only wanted to speak with you first, before assuming that I knew your mind.

We are partners Dany, in this and all things. If you wish to announce our betrothal to the entire city tomorrow then that is what we shall do. Only please, take a moment and have a care. The usurper and his hired knives are still out there. I have just discovered that Illirio knows where we are. I know not what his game is but I don't believe that he is a true Ally.

As I said, we are partners, and I made a promise. I leave the final decision to you.

NOTE: I dug deep for this one Luna. I hope you are happy with yourself. You made me feel my own feelings!:p

But seriously, IC Aegon can only explain his reasons and ask Dany to consider them along side her own desires. A man has a right to say no to his significant other, even when she is at her most infuriating. But a true relationship (like I hope these two fictional people that we play with are developing) is an exercise in compromise. The ball's in your court now girl. Make your move!

Plan up!

Ugh. The lack of logic infuriates me.

[X] "Yes, Dany. That's the real reason. I didn't want to marry you, that's why I told you I would, instead of marrying you to someone else to get a political alliance. Yes, that is logical and the reasons I just gave you are lies and excuses and shouldn't be considered at all. I mean, the first half of that statement was that we can get engaged and we shall. Let's ignore that. Focus only on the second half where I only said that I want to discuss whether or not revealing our wealth would be prudent right now. And take it to mean I don't want to marry you. That makes complete sense."

Let's be the (sarcastic) voice of reason here.
