The Dawi in Arda (Hiatus)

The Foreboding Tunnel
There's a malign presence in this tunnel, the silence is too still and there isn't even the faint scent of old Grobi presence.
Nope, nope, nope, nope. No. Nu-uh. Noperino. Not going to work sir. No can do. Negatory.

I'm not really sure which tunnel(s) are best but we should bear in mind we have the following Throng modifiers for terrain:
+5 to Combat in Open or Mildly Rough Terrain
Surface Training Yard allows the Throng to drill in combat in terrains similar to the Valley and Passes.

+5 to combat in Open, Urban and Tight Terrain.
The Training Hall allows the Throng to drill in combat in terrains similar to the Halls and Hallways of the Karak

I'm not sure we need the quarry, it gives us stone but we have tons of that just from excavating halls.

I'm gonna level with you. I have no idea how stone is tracked, just felt like since armies are moving around and we've almost finished one of each building we'd probably start throwing up more walls :D (even if they're not strictly a priority)

Stay out of that Foreboding tunnel frens.

Other than that, I've really not got much. If nothing else, we should block all the weird tunnels so stragglers can't escape. Especially the small ones since we can't make use of our superior ranged weaponry in quarters that tight.

It's slogging in the nightmare warrens time.

The bigger tunnels would likely qualify for Urban and Tight.

And we get a +2 to all dice, nice. (We should probably rush an Armory somewhere. I'm not actually sure what we still have space for.)

Cool. I think it best if we split the throngs up and go in through the North, East, and west. All the Hargrobi are in the south, so if we head in the south side they may notice us and be able to run into the rest of Goblin town proper.

This way we can come in while blocking the exit closest to them and sweep through and secure the majority of goblin town before we reach them and this blocks them from the rest of the town and thereby confining them to the southern section they're currently in.

This will reduce the advantage of their far greater numbers by not allowing them to spread throughout the town.

@Warkeymon Did the prospectors roll anything this turn?

I'm gonna level with you. I have no idea how stone is tracked, just felt like since armies are moving around and we've almost finished one of each building we'd probably start throwing up more walls :D (even if they're not strictly a priority)
1 Die on mining out the hold lets us use 1 die on building with stone, we can save those stone dice for one turn with the dice left over from last turn noted at the top of the start of turn post

Pick 2-3 and block the rest? Maybe a pair on the same side and then another on an adjacent side? Like south, gentle and west?

Edit: So that's what those excavation dice are!! Gotcha

l would like to leave a small group on the surface to either reinforce one of the areas or keep any wondering enemy's away 20 Warriors and 25 Quarrellers should be good to hold top for at least awhile

[X] Plan: Box them in
-[X] The Northern, Eastern, and Western Major Tunnels. Block all others. North Throng to the North, East to the East, South to the West. Gatrim will be with the Eastern Throng and Gutfroy will be with the Southern.
-[X] Tactics
--[X] The Throngs will lead with the Rangers moving quickly in their respective entrances as a Vanguard silencing any Hargrobi they come across.
--[X] Once in the Nest proper the Throngs will move south quickly in an effort to surround and confine the Hargrobi to the area they are already in while the Rangers will spread throughout the Nest picking off and cleaning up any stragglers that are not where the rest are so that the main force is not attacked from behind.
--[X] Once the surround is complete the Warriors will form up into a shield wall and slowly advance while the Quarrellers fire upon the trapped Hargrobi.
--[X] The push forward will continue until the Hargrobi are eliminated totally or we begin to be pushed back in which case a slow and orderly withdrawal will commence.

To be clear, my strategy isn't based around stealth, it's based on speed and surprise. The only reason I have the Rangers leading the way stealthily is because we can't be spotted immediately or they'll have time to at least partially spread throughout the town.

This is less "Oceans Eleven" and more "FBI! Open up!". By the time they know we're here we'll already be on top of them.

Can't we block all entrances but one and smoke them out? These suckers still need to breathe.
[X] Plan: Box them in

[X] Plan Jab-Slow Hook
-[X] The Southern and Western Major Tunnels, and the Southern Gentle Tunnel. Block all others. North Throng to the South, East Throng to the West, And split the South Throng between the Two Southern Approaches. Gatrim will be with the Eastern Throng and Gutfroy will be with the Northern Throng.
-[X] Tactics
--[X] The Throngs will lead with the Rangers moving quickly in their respective entrances as a Vanguard silencing any Hargrobi they come across.
--[X] The gentle tunnel and western tunnel teams will attempt to sneak and clear as much space as possible, meet up and then surround the area where noises are to the south. The south tunnel team will hold position and give the other groups time to get in position. Approach same as "box in" for western team (Rangers will spread throughout the Nest picking off and cleaning up any stragglers that are not where the rest are so that the main force is not attacked from the side)
--[X] After a bit of delay the South Major Tunnel team will advance stealthily as far as possible eliminating enemies when conflict becomes open they'll form up and kill as many enemies as possible. If western team has been discovered this will strike from an unexpected direction.
--[X] If the gentle tunnel team is able to join with the western tunnel team both will hit the enemy in the flank/back (wherever they come out) which happens if the southern major hall team is discovered first. When stealth is no longer possible form up and kill enemy. If west&gentle don't meet up after a set period of time the gentle tunnel team will destroy everything they can and retreat to reinforce south major hallway team.
--[X]The push forward will continue until the Hargrobi are eliminated totally or we begin to be pushed back in which case a slow and orderly withdrawal will commence. Bring down entry hall ceilings or block with stone where possible to cover retreat.

Tried something different. I'm not sure we can clear the area so tried a jaws sort of movement. If west gets discovered with their lead then south comes up behind defenders and hits them. If south discovered first it swaps. Gentle is clearing anything between the two forces and then reinforcing or causing mayhem. Not enough info to really plan well, just hoping enough enemy aren't home so we don't get swarmed ala Moria.
