Well, maybe we could have a giant ring on his back, sort-of like this guy?


Maybe compromise on the cape as well, put the Glowing Flame/Mantle in the center of the ring, where it will be a perpetual backdrop for our head?

Also, eyes, all along the rim! Eye's that look around and emote along with the Zest!

Just spitballing with everybody else...
 
So now we are at a quandary.

A number of people wish for a knight. A knight with shades, I guess, but still just a knight.

A number of people wish for something off the wall and weird, and have chosen my ring idea to follow behind.

is there any reason we can't have both? my image up above is a nice one. Can we all agree to reach a middle ground?

Edit: Well. That works too! I can dig the Asura's wrath rings.

How about this? We get both the knight and ring. We can have shades and body language, but still get the cool as heck rings. Someone said it earlier, but nobody voted for it.

I prefer my suggestion of a ring behind the body, serving to provide the image of a halo floating behind us. Bit less ring-y, but a more natural integration of the circle (which can still have eyes! Fully articulate eyes!)

Heck, we could even mimic the shape of our actual halo. For symbolism, and stuff!
 
The ideas are all well and good, but the compromise ideas actually need votes to win. Anyone going to change their vote?
 
If enough people change their votes to actually matter, I will as well. I do like the Asura option, but changing if the current version of your vote has a chance to win to something better but less voted for makes it more likely for what you dislike to win

Counter-point: if enough people start jumping ship all at once, other's may follow along to form a bandwagon! Or you could not, and I'll get one less vote. Your choice :)
 
Wouldn't the ring on the back get in the way of a mantle cape?

Don't understand why others want rings in general though would not be opposed to ring arms if needed.

Assuming the rings can still have the cape there also; with the head still having glasses, the eyed-ring design can still flourish
 
Huh, just noticed that the star body already had a back halo. It's relatively understated, being only a thin ring of orange light centered on the body, but it's very much there. Except in speech boxes, but whatever.

So, I'm apparently less suggesting a new idea, and more proposing a re-imagining of an old design?

Probably not, mostly because the cape should be able to flow through it anyway since it appears to be a manifestation of our Ego, and there's also the possibility of the ring/halo floating slightly separately.

As for the desire for the Ring shape, it's probably a desire to emulate Abrahamic Angels, at least one of which was a flaming wheel with many eyes. Also, eldritch things are cool.
 
I would absolutely be down with the knight ring combo. Get the best of both worlds!

Maybe have his torso be the pair of rings? Like....

You have the Head which is whatever helmety shape you want to roll with, but then his body is the crossing pair of rings that connect to the arms and legs? So you got this....

I like the idea of the halos crossing over his chest. Perhaps if we went with a General Grevious-esque design that meant normally we have two arms - but when it's time to get down to business, they seemingly split into more.

Can we get a tally to tell exactly how splintered into uselessness we are? Also, would extra arms actually do anything? If they allow us to use more weapons its kind of obvious to have them, especially with the grievous arms style not making it look weird while we aren't needing extra arms.
 
Can we generally agree that we kind of want a combo at least? Because I get the vibe that folks at least want elements of the two, but the specifics are a bit in the air.

I mean the specifics of it are a little eh at the moment But I think it's fair to say some flavor of knightly and angelic ring beast should be in play.
 
I feel like we're more, "refining" the ideas that we really want, and trying to bring together as much of it as we can?

Also, did not intend to bring multiple arms into it, it's just that stuff from Asura's Wrath has some of the more obvious depictions of what I'm talking about.

Like mine will be

This way, no matter what we individually want, the general idea will be achieved!
