Sword Riot Quest

There is already a shrine in the city, isn't there? That is what you described behind the weapon shop at least.

Also, the blood requirement is a bit of a tough call to justify when there is only a handful of people around, unless we want to go and drain the dead.

It's only about a pint of blood and you have over 50 people in the company (I am avoiding exact numbers in case of a large growth or loss in the voter base.) and that isn't your shrine (you can't take it with you when you leave).

Also, can I get a vote tally?

Edit: It is a lot of blood comparatively, an ordinary shrine only needs a few drops.

I am surprised that no one wants to build a shrine, it is the only way you can wake up more swords.
When you say shrine, I imagine a building or a room in one, not something you could take with you. We're probably going to be on the move, so I din't want to suggest it until we had some kind of space in which to make one. A wagon maybe?

Good rolls. I like the nat 100 on just the right thing, but we just missed the DC of searching for swords by one! Very frustrating.

Turn 4
[X] Bury your dead, you can't bury all of them right now, but you can do some.
DC: 10 Bonus: 25

Several more soldiers work on burying the bodies, and now that they are starting to smell, they work extra hard. They mange to get two-thirds of the bodies in the ground, much better then the previous efforts.

[X] Search the (upper) city for more special swords.
DC: 60 Bonus:5

Two soldiers search for more swords in the upper city, but they fail. The soldiers do mange to cover quite a bit of ground, so if there are more attempts in the upper city, it should be a little easier, to find them, if there is any to be found.

[X] Search the (middle) city for other gear you might need. Blankets, backpacks, cooking pots, maybe tents? Those kinds of things.

Another group decides to keep looking for gear, and they do mange to find some, in the house of a poor merchant. They also grab a couple of carts to carry all the gear, and anything else they might want to take with them on the road.
(Company fully equipped for traveling)

[X] Have a sparring match, test each groups skills (besides most of the Beserkers, because they can't kill their opponets)

It turns out less like a sparing session and more like a session of ephinanies. By observing and battling the other groups, the Iron Warriors learned to learned to put skill into their blows, not just strength, the Everblockers actually learned how to attack and take advantage of their skill at blocking to counter-attack, the Whirlwind Fighters learned how to incorporate blocks into their fighting style, and even the Beserkers learned how to be more efficient from watching. The Sword-Saints improved the least due to their already high skill, but they advanced a little in every category and came up with some dirty tricks. All in all, the Company is less like peasants how picked up magic swords, and more like professionals. It seemed like the blessing of Grael was on their training session.
(New combat options, future combat DC's may be reduced)

[X] Search the (upper) city for stuff to make the banner with, then make the banner.

The soldiers didn't just make banners, they managed to make enough ribbons with the symbol on it for the entire company. Everyone tied them around their arms, and the company is now recognizable as a single group.
(Can gain reputation, no chance of confusing a company member with the enemy in a battle)

[x] Search the lower city for other gear you might need. Blankets, backpacks, cooking pots, maybe tents? Those kinds of things.

Finally, Kilden (default character name) checks the lower city for traveling gear, but she finds nothing. Probably because there is nothing to be found.

There is a lot of debate tonight over whether the company should stay, or follow the nobles. In the end, they decide to stay, but a few company members are worried about the empire coming back soon. Also, one company member realized that they haven't actually been looking for money and any valuables that may have been left behind, and the whole company felt idiotic.

OOC: I will give bonuses for Omakes, the size of the bonus depends on the Omake and they don't have to be too long, but at least a hundred or two words.

It is small enough to fit in one of your new carts and one of you could probably carry it, although It would be very awkward.

[X] Practice fighting as team and not an individual, covering for each members' weakness. It's teamwork that wins a war.

[X] Stay in the city for a while longer.

Hm, In that case, let's make one while we have an existing example to work from.

[X] Build the shrine to Grael.

Although I'm tempted by Spectator's write-in, that's a crucial thing to know. Or for that matter spiral's write-in. Not quite as crucial, maybe, but very difficult to find out once we leave.

I was also thinking of voting to look for similar shrines to the other gods or maybe check out what that mysterious necklace does (although that's probably best done later when we don't have the opportunity to loot) Even look for more "special objects". By the way, @Dark Ness the mysterious necklace isn't listed on our inventory list. We might also want to get a bit more food and water

Alora breathed deeply, hand resting on her sword as she walked through the streets of the upper city. Finding valuables in this place wasn't hard, but she had to pick out things they could use. Coin was the best option, as well generic pieces that wouldn't be too suspicious. But anything that a noble would recognize as their own, or worse yet, be able to prove their claim to ownership, was just asking for trouble. While yes the Free Swords were technically little more than peasant mercenaries, they still need money and reputation to survive. And while she felt no shame to being a thief, being widely known as brigands would only damage them in the long run.

So, it was mostly coin and the odd trinket she was looking for, generic things that, while odd, wouldn't be outright suspicious to be in the possession of a mercenary band.

Fixed. Also, @silentspirals write in will have a ridiculously high DC, because you know absolutely nothing about your maker. The owner of the fateful shop is specifically named "caretaker."

In addition, @D.D. Spectator, the Beserkers are literally incapable of teamwork. They are like PC's, the best they can do is attacking the same target at the same time. It works for the rest of the groups, though.

Do they have enough sanity to designate a leader to follow?

Iffy, sometimes yes and sometimes no. It has to be another Beserker, though, they are worse then Orks when it comes to tactics and battlelust (during battle, outside of it they can strategize fine). On the other hand, every one is between an elite unit and a hero unit when it comes to attacking.

You don't have to worry about that unless you are stupid enough to sell the stuff in front of a noble. With the constant wars, spoils are common and merchants don't ask questions. Attacking a neutral merchant caravan is a no, no, though. This stems from the river caravans providing most of food to the region and anyone who stopped them would get stomped hard. Also, +2 to the valuable roll.

I can't decide which one is worse.

They are at least good enough not to attack the rest of the company. It used to be that a crit-fail or almost crit-fail would cause that, but the armbands stopped that.

[X] Bury your dead.

[X] Leave and follow the nobles.

Since keeping the city under the current circunstances is a no-no, the next best option is getting the nobles. It wouldn't do to have any unfotunate accident happen to them while they are away after all. And we could use some sacrifices to make more swords.
