Deep Space, onboard the Nadesico

You wake up with a moan and find yourself in the cockpit of the Rose. Odd, weren't you and the girls on the bridge when the ship went through the chulip? Turning around, you see no one is in the copilot's seat. A tinge of fear penetrates your being, and you immediately exit the Super Robot.

People are splayed about the hangar, and you realize some of them don't even work in this part of the ship. In fact, most of the uniforms you see are of the kitchen staff. You gently nudge a girl you recognize as one of Howmei's European foods experts awake before getting into the elevator. After almost tripping over Kenji and Tsubaki sitting back to back and holding hands while unconscious, you exit the elevator and start looking.

You find Nina and Yukari in one of the lounges, unconscious and spooning on the couch. Most of your stress leaves your body at once, and you sag into one of the chairs in relief. Shortly afterward, Lucia enters the room.

"Where did you end up?" You ask.
"The cafeteria, you?"
"Inside the cockpit of the Rose. I panicked when I realized none of you were with me."

Nina and Yukari stir, Nina regaining all of her faculties first. She gives Yukari a quick peck on the cheek before gingerly sitting up, helping Yukari do the same. After making sure none of the girls are injured, the four of you set off toward the bridge.

Everyone in the bridge crew is present except for Yurika, but the only one conscious is Ruri. She turns toward the four of you as you enter the bridge. It looks like she's been trying to assess damage to the ship while waiting for everyone to wake up. You and the Rose girls set about trying to assist her, but whatever the chulip did to the Nadesico caused most of the computer systems to crash, and Ruri's had a rough time of getting things together. When you finally do manage to get things up and running, the ships sensors greet you with an absolute mess.

For starters, telemetry says the ship is in orbit of the moon. There is a massive space battle occurring around you, with EFF forces, Jovian Lizards, ZAFT, and a force consisting of what look like mobile suits, but which resemble no known models. The rest of the bridge crew are starting to wake up, and Yurika barges in to the bridge at that moment.

"WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Yurika yelps in fright when she sees what's going on on the main monitor.
"There appears to be a massive battle going on around us." Ruri deadpans.
"Set the Gravity to wide spread, fire in the general direction of the Jovian Lizards, then pull back toward the EFF fleet!"
"We can't fire a Gravity Blast that big, Phase Transition Engine is operating at 12% capacity. We can maintain the Distortion Field, but it will likely only be able to stand up to a single salvo before failing." Ruri reports.
"Scramble all units and take us toward the EFF fleet then!"
"Hangar is reporting problems with the launch bay doors, we can only open them enough to launch the Aestivalis units."

Yurika looks like she's about to cry, and you can't really blame her. With so many things having gone wrong on Mars, dropping into the current situation feels like a slap in the face. Nevertheless, the Aestivalis units launch.

Things almost immediately start going wrong. Ryoko's team discover to their displeasure that Grasshopper robots now have Distortion Fields, which practically forces them into close combat. Gai and Akito are separated by ZAFT, and although Gai is able to hold his own against the GINNs that go after him, Akito was forced to double back...into Jovian Lizard territory. He's being swarmed by Grasshoppers, and judging from the medical readout, he's not in the best state of mind. Before long, Akito's Aestivalis is surrounded by Grasshoppers.

"Damn it Tenkawa, hold on, we're coming to help!" Ryoko all but shouts into the comms as she and her team try to break through to Akito, Gai doing the same from the opposite direction. As Akito screams incoherently into the comm channel, you realize neither Ryoko and her team nor Gai will make it to Akito in time. Then, two things happen at once. First, a blue Aestivalis grabs Akito's Aestivalis and drags it to safety. Second, a Stark Jegan fires all of its missiles and bazooka rounds at the surrounding Grasshoppers, destroying them. Although the Jovian Lizards have been cleared out, ZAFT and the unknown mobile suits are still present, and, sensing weakness, converge on the Aestivalis group.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWz2BWGxqMI

Before either group can get close, a massive yellow beam lances through the void and utterly obliterates the ZAFT GINNs. You see a blue and white Gundam with angel wings holding a massive rifle and red shield in the distance. The Gundam turns toward the unknown mobile suits, which scatter and retreat before it can fire again.

The pilot of the Stark Jegan opens a channel.

"This is Patrick Colasour of the Solar Vanguard! All Aestivalis, withdraw to the Nadesico immediately, you're too close to the line of fire!"

Before Patrick can elaborate, the sensors pick up a massive blast.

"20% of the Jovian forces have been vaporized." Ruri reports.
"You're kidding!" Minato exclaims in disbelief.
"Detecting second volley."

Goat Hoary seems to come to a realization.

"A multi-barreled Gravity Blast Cannon?" He ponders out loud.

A ships with the same color scheme as the Nadesico comes into view, with IFF stating that it is the ND-002 Cosmos. It's accompanied by a Clop class cruiser, the Budapest. The commander of the Budapest opens a channel with the Nadesico.

"This is Colonel Kati Mannequin, captain of the Budapest and officer of the Solar Vanguard. Nadesico, do you read me?"
"We hear you loud and clear colonel." Yurika responds.
"Welcome back to the Earth Sphere. We've got a lot to talk about. The Cosmos will tow you to drydock."

On your way to the Lunar drydock, the pilot of the blue Aestivalis introduces himself as Akatuski Nagare. He informs you that it's been a month since you entered the chulip on Mars. During that time, attacks from the Jovian Lizards intensified. In addition, the Autonomous Region of Giganos renamed itself the Giganos Empire and declared war against every other political entity in the Earth Sphere. Adding to that mess, ZAFT commenced open hostilities against the Earth Federation due to the Federation's failure to punish Blue Cosmos or eject it from the Federation senate due to their role in the Bloody Valentine Incident.

"We skip forward a month and everything in the Earth Sphere goes to hell. Can things get any worse?" You groan.
"Unfortunately, I wasn't finished yet." Akatsuki says grimly.

Akatsuki goes on to explain that, aside from the war with the Jovian Lizards, Giganos, and ZAFT, two separate alien empires have commenced an invasion of Earth. The only positive note is that the Federation had advance notice of one invasion due to a positive relationship with the Campbellians, who had warned the N.U.N.S. of an impending invasion from the Boazanian Empire. While Campbell would ordinarily have intervened to prevent the invasion, its new leader, Deus, has his hands full trying to keep the imperialist faction from regaining power.

"And the other alien invasion?" Ryoko asks in expasperation.

Akatsuki explains that the other alien invasion is at the hands of the Balmian Empire. They had come to the Sol system in search of a new home after the destruction of their home planet. Negotiations initially seemed to be going well, but something happened which resulted in the deaths of Leon, Chief Admiral of Balm, Isamu Ryuzaki, the main ambassador for the Federation, and Field Marshal Noventa. The Balmians accused the Federation of orchestrating the entire thing before commencing an invasion.

"And on top of that, the Invaders still come and go whenever they feel like it, Doctor Hell is ramping up his efforts for world domination, and we have no idea what Neo-Zeon remnants are up to." You summarize everything else going on in the world at the moment.
"Not to worry, the Federation is not completely impotent in the face what's happening. The Solar Vanguard was formed in order to deal with all the problems that the EFF by itself can't address. We're recruiting the best of the best, and a few organizations have already signed on. Treize Khushrenada can tell you more when you go to meet him, he's been waiting for the Nadesico to get back for a while now." Akatsuki offers a nugget of good news.

OZ headquarters, Amsterdam

After the Nadesico is put into drydock for repairs, you say good bye to the people from the SARI. Apparently what they found on Mars was of great interest to Professor Shiba, and they need to make preparations of some sort immediately. Yagyuu tells you that Professor Shiba will likely have the SARI join the Solar Vanguard, but he needs to make some preparations first. Speaking of the Solar Vanguard, you, the Rose Girls, Mr. Prospector, the bridge crew of the Nadesico, and the Aestivalis pilots are sent back down to Earth on the Budapest to meet with Treize.

Your group arrives at OZ headquarters in Amsterdam. After being shunted into a meeting room, you're not made to wait long until Treize arrives.

"I apologize for how hasty things have been moving for you, Captain Misumaru, but needs must in our current circumstances."
"Oh no, I understand. So, how do we figure into this?" Yurika asks.
"The Solar Vanguard was created to protect the Earth from all of the new threats it faces. To confront such extraordinary problems, we require nothing less than the absolute best that the Federation has. You are a brilliant commander, Captain Misumaru, and we need every advantage we can get."

Mr. Prospector adjusts his glasses.

"I was told by the main office that Nergal had reached an agreement with the Federation. Part of the deal was that the Nadesico and her crew would be integrated into the Solar Vanguard when it was found."
"So we don't really have much of a choice then." Yurika sighs.
"Are you telling us we're going to be soldiers from now on?" Minato says in protest.
"No, that's not true. It means we're temporarily cooperating with the Federation." Akatsuki says. He holds Minato's hand, and she immediately yanks it out, clearly unamused at his attempts to flirt with her.
"What about Mars?" Minato changes the subject.
"Admiral Jenius has been able to hold the planet with her combined fleet. The Jovian Lizards are persistent, though, and have been assaulting Mars almost continuously since you left. The New UN Spacey has had to send an additional defense fleet to supplement Admiral Jenius' forces, although the factory satellites that they initially brought with them have eased many of their logistical burdens, so I've been told." Treize answers.
"Please, take this opportunity while the Nadesico is being repaired to rest. I get the feeling that there will be few opportunities to do so in the future. Lieutenant Ayana, would you and your copilots please stay a bit?"

You don't really have a choice under the current circumstances. You nod as the others file out.

"Please, I mean you no harm. I merely wished to offer you a chance to join the Solar Vanguard independently of the Nadesico and her crew. While I realize that you left the EFF of your own volition, given your unexpected acquisition of a Super Robot, I do not believe you can stay independent indefinitely. While you may have the clout to prevent you and your copilots from being forcibly drafted by the EFF, there are other parties who are...less scrupulous about such things."
"Yeah, I get it. I've got conditions though." Treize nods and gestures for you to continue.
"One, no one looks at the Rose without direct supervision by me or one of the girls. Two, no surprise 'medical exams'. Three, I retain custody of them."
"That can certainly be arranged. The other reason I wanted you to stay behind is that there are some people I wished to introduce to you who you may be somewhat familiar with." Treize hits a button on his desk, and a moment later, two people enter the room.

You double take and hiss as you see Haman Karn and Chara Soon.

"What's the meaning of this Colonel Khushrenada? The two of them are supposed to be dead." You ask with as even of a tone as you can manage.
"I can answer that for you." Haman says. "After the first Neo-Zeon war, I considered taking my own life out of shame for my role in the conflict. I couldn't bring myself to do so, so I went into hiding with Chara. Treize somehow found us shortly after the Balmians declared war on the Federation, and offered me a chance to redeem myself."
"An oversimplification, but accurate enough." Treize says. "I wanted to inform you first, Lieutenant Ayana, considering that you have some small history with them."
"Small history? They almost killed me once!" You scoff.
"When was...ah, the Nemo with the green stripe across the chest." Haman recalls the sole encounter you had with her and Chara.

You sigh before holding out your arm to Haman and Chara in an offer of a handshake. Haman shakes first, followed by Chara.

"I'm glad you were able to put your past with them behind you. You'll receive mission details in a few days. Until then, try to get some rest." Treize says.

You have some time before you receive your next orders. You decide to tackle some things that have been on your mind.

Research Action-Technology

You decide to have someone take a look at the Crystal Diffusion Drive. You're not completely comfortable piloting a Super Robot with black box technology. With the resources of the Solar Vanguard, you might be able to figure something out.

Who do you go to? (pick ONE)

[ ] Photon Power Labs

[ ] The Saotome Institute

[ ] OZ Engineering Corps

[ ] Mithril Research and Development
-A/N: You have no idea about Whispered in-character yet, and will not be able to specifically ask for help from a Whispered

[ ] SMS Engineering Corps
-They're only sending pilots and Variable fighters, no one they send will be able to help with technical research

[ ] The Camelot Institute
-Neo-Britannia seems to hate the Solar Vanguard's guts, there's no way they'll let you even try to ask for help from Camelot

Scenario Quest/Recruitment

Treize wants to expand the ranks of the Solar Vanguard immediately. He also recognizes that other organizations have their own issues to deal with. Doing someone else a favor will likely get them to join the Vanguard. Unfortunately, even with what you have now, you can't be everywhere at once.

Who do you lend a helping hand to? (Pick TWO)

[ ] Super EM Tangle
The Nanbara Connection and Big Falcon have their hands full dealing the Boazanian invasion. The Combattler team are veterans of the war with the Imperialist faction of Campbell, but a single Super Robot can only do so much, and the Voltes V team is still relatively inexperienced. Neo-Zeon remnants and ZAFT keep trying to steal both Super Robots, which isn't helping things at all. Pay the Super Electromagnetic Super Robots a visit and see what you can do to help.

[ ] Wings of Love (and spite)
The Anti-Balm Defense Force is headquartered in Daimovic Base. Although they've put together a Super Robot to deal with the machines the Balmians keep sending down to Earth, they believe a diplomatic solution to the conflict with them is still possible. General Miwa of the EFF is not pleased by this viewpoint, and is putting pressure on Daimovic Base in an attempt to gain control over the entire organization. Drop by to get Miwa off their back and keep hope alive.

[ ] Unarmed Intervention into Armed Intervention
Celestial Being has leaked intelligence to the Solar Vanguard about rogue Earth Federation officials trying to put together an organization called the A-LAWS. Although officially the A-LAWS are supposed to be an organization similar in intent to the Solar Vanguard, Celestial Being claims that it is in the long run meant to oppose and eventually destroy the Vanguard and act as Neo-Hope's personal army, beholden to no one except the highest ranking members of the political coalition. Meet with an agent of Celestial Being in Azadistan to verify the validity of this intelligence, and if it's on the level, establish an agreement with Celestial Being.

[ ] The Kamine Island Gambit
Zero, The Man of Miracles, is requesting urgent assistance. He claims that Neo-Britannia is planning an illegal invasion of Japan under a cover story of rooting out Zeon remnants that have compromised the country. He knows the Solar Vanguard has interests and VIPs in Japan, and he claims that he has a way to outright prevent the invasion, but will need the help of the Vanguard to pull it off. In exchange, Zero promises to agree to whatever terms the Vanguard sets in regards to the agenda of the Black Knights.

[ ] Space Potatoes
The warship Idaho has returned from space having successfully stolen three prototype Metal Armors that Giganos had developed. Unfortunately, the Idaho touched down in an area on Earth that is hotly contested between Giganos and ZAFT, and the report mentions that the prototype Metal Armors have locked piloting rights to a trio of civilians. The EFF wet navy is already moving to rescue the crew of the Idaho et al, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure nothing is left to chance.

A/N: Behold, the update! Sorry if the quality seems to have backslid a bit, I wanted to get this out during the promised time. Please vote by plan, and vote, discuss, and critique! Also, the organizations you don't help will still eventually join the Solar Vanguard, but not till later.

[X]Plan: One Man's Freedom Fighters
-[X] Photon Power Labs
-[X] Unarmed Intervention into Armed Intervention
-[X] The Kamine Island Gambit

Simple enough, I want to get ahead of the elements that are trying to undercut the situation on Earth, and that means hanging out with "terrorists". Hopefully we'll be able to come to an understanding before all-out internecine war happens.

As for the research option, Saotome Labs is a scary place and I don't want to go there, and Mithril has a lot to hide. Professor Yumi will at least be able to tell us what the Rose can do even if he can't figure out how it works.

[X]Plan: BEEG ROBOTS
- [X] The Saotome Institute
- [X] Super EM Tangle
- [X] Wings of Love (and spite)

It's nearly 1:30 where I am so no useful discussion at the moment. Update is good. Big robots are good. Chicks dig giant robots.

[X]Plan: One Man's Freedom Fighters

If we move fast enough in dealing with rogue elements, we can ensure that Earth is mostly unified and working towards a singular goal, which will allow us to do more in the long run, for a house divided against itself can not stand.

Okay yeah, let's mess with Neo-Brittania.

[X]Plan: One Man's Freedom Fighters
-[X] Photon Power Labs
-[X] Unarmed Intervention into Armed Intervention
-[X] The Kamine Island Gambit

Jovian drones are AI-run, so this counts as a mock battle.
Man needs all the Ws he can get that aren't explicitly him surviving somehow. Give him this one. Also:

[X]Plan: One Man's Freedom Fighters

The less people taking advantage of the current situation, the more Earth can stand together. So screw Neo-Brittania and The A-Laws.

While it is nice the story still going, as we gotten to the problem solving of research and recruiting. I'm a bit lost on what to do or vote for. I know some of the corporate names from overall series stuff, I know mainly universal century Gundum time line. I just don't know most factions in detail to know their core politics or how setting could mix. I'm especially getting lost on how these choices stack up against each other and if there is a good choice for the player character or not. I'm not on SV a lot so coming back to the quest is not an easy time with unfamiliar setting mixes. Not going to vote on this. Edit: some grammar stuff.

I don't mean to be rude Balloony, but a) your grammar is atrocious, and b) this is a Super Robot Wars quest, mixing settings of different mecha anime is expected and mandatory. It's only going to get more confusing for you if you don't know the anime that I'm using for this. If you want to not be lost, I'd at least recommend looking up characters from the anime I'm using (check the series list) and maybe synopsis of the plot if you don't mind spoilers. If you do mind spoilers, then go watch the anime in the series list when you have the time, it'll make things a lot easier to understand.

A) sorry on grammar. Was on late and I just wanted to get the paragraph out. Not an excuse but, it is just a pain to self spell check when the mind already know what you want to say just and all that.

B) This is a bit rude. I know about 8 of the 25 setting well but excuse me for not have exact breath of super robot fandom as you. I wouldn't think it would be a problem to not simply sight read (for an example I can talk about) the moon "princess" is from an empire on the actual moon. Not from Luna II, not Moon Moon, and has nothing to do with the Orb Union (witch may or not exist as part of the UC earth federation). Oh, as Turn A is not in the mix, the Moonrace are not wanting to invade earth or in any way destroy it by Luna fifth.

Last edited:
There's a moon princess? I assume that refers to something in Dragonar but if that's come up in thread I must have missed it.

That said, wafer, it might be worth taking some more time to slow down and do some worldbuilding on what the different factions are and how they relate to each other in this crossover setting. Recruitment scenarios like the one coming up actually seem ideal for it, since you'll be introducing characters and faction representatives, although the thread readerbase is probably pretty familiar with the guys we're voting for on this specific turn.

Why wouldn't there be a moon princess, lol. Though I may have mixed up some Lunar stuff with other series honestly . The Moon is usually just neutral and part of the background in real&super-robot setting settings. The moon is where UC Lana Titanium is made and is still mixed in Types of Gundarium if I recall but don't know exact who, what, and where terms.

Going to be a bit brief, as I don't have time in mid day to go into true depth. On terms of world building and pacing the quest doesn't have to slow down. There is stuff like Timeline in the Informational that help greatly with world building, just some stuff get glossed over in the actual thread marked quest parts I feel. Like in turn 0 we went "they're unlike anything we've seen before" to calling the enemy Grasshoppers internally. Not initially clear if they are made up for this quest or a setting that a reader may not be known. Mainly I'm just annoyed it is almost assumed in cases that we know more of what going on than the slightly amnesiac main character.

Photon Power Labs, Japan

"Sorry for making this request on such short notice, Professor Yumi." You bow to Professor Yumi.
"It's not a problem. Dr. Hell has stepped back his activities, so we've had a bit more down time lately." Professor Yumi adjusts his glasses.

After asking for permission from Trieze, you'd brought the Rose to Photon Power Labs in an attempt to make sense of its Diffusion Crystal Drive. You'd considered going to the Saotome Institute first, but you'd heard rumors about the place, and ultimately decided not to go there.

"So, what did you find?"

Professor Yumi and staff study the Diffusion Crystal Drive-DC 18
Roll 1d10 + 7 (Super Robot Scientist) + 4 (Knowledge of Photon Power) + 2 (Photon Power Labs staff) - 1 (Black Box)
Roll 7
7 + 7 + 4 + 2 - 1 = 19
SUCCESS

"Well, it's certainly been an interesting experience." Professor Yumi half-jokes. He hands you a file before turning on a projector.
"Mechanic Uribitake's notes on the subject, while plentiful, did not give us much insight. We started from scratch, with an understanding that this would be nothing like Photon Power. We found a few things. First, the Drive acts as a perfect inertial dampener when it's turned on-you could accelerate well past Mach 18 and not feel a thing. We have no idea how it achieves this, but it does so. Second, the crystals are not a fuel source for the Drive, but serve as some kind of catalyst. The Drive does not appear to be a perpetual motion machine-you recall the test where you lost power briefly after a stress test-but seems to draw energy from some kind of self-contained dimensional anomaly that forms whenever the Drive is started. The crystals seem to allow the anomaly to form more easily, and also to efficiently draw power into the rest of the Rose. How it accomplishes all of this, however, is still a mystery to us. There is one other thing of note that we have discovered: there is an incomplete circuit within the Drive. It doesn't affect anything, but it's there, and it looks like something could easily slot into the gap."

You sigh.

"There's nothing else you were able to figure out?"
"There's nothing more we can study without dismantling everything, which seems highly inadvisable."
"Well, thanks anyway Professor."
"It was our pleasure."

April UE 0083
Royal Palace, Tehran, Azadistan

Despite the economy of Azadistan being in shambles, the royal palace is about as opulent as you would expect it to be. Your group, consisting of yourself, Yukari, Kati Mannequin, Patrick Colasour, and Lady Une were instructed to ask for Shirin at the palace gates. After doing so, the five of you were quickly whisked inside to a dining room, presumably to wait for the representative of Celestial Being. Despite being given a generous spread of traditional Azadistani cuisine to tide yourselves over while you wait, Patrick is getting restless.

"What's taking Celestial Being so long? Weren't we told to meet them at 1230 hours? It's 1228 hours!"

Kati rolls her eyes, clearly used to having to deal with Patrick's antics.

"Lieutenant, that means there's still two minutes for them to get here. Knowing Celestial Being, their agent will probably make sure they come at the exact second it goes to 1230 hours for dramatic effect."

Patrick huffs, but doesn't say anything further before grabbing a spoonful of torshi and shoving it into his mouth.

It's not until 12 seconds past 1230 hours that the doors to the dining room open, three people enter. The first is Marina Ismail, the currently elected Queen of Azadistan. The second you recognize as Wang Liu Mei, head of the Wang family, a wealthy and powerful conglomerate. The third is a young man with scruffy black hair and brown eyes. Marina closes the doors behind the trio as they enter before taking a seat at the head of the table. Wang Liu Mei and the young man take seats across from your group. Lady Une is the first to speak.

"Well this is a surprise, I didn't think that the head of the Wang family or the queen of Azadistan would be involved with Celestial Being. And who's the gentleman?"

The young man turns toward Lady Une.

"Setsuna F. Seiei, pilot of the Gundam Exia."

Kati has to grab Patrick to stop him from reaching for his sidearm.

"Lieutenant, we're here to discuss terms with Celestial Being, not fight them. I know you have some history with the Exia, but think of where we are!"

Patrick visibly deflates before giving Kati an apologetic look.

"I apologize for my rashness, Colonel."

You turn toward Setsuna.

"What's your game plan here? Revealing the identity of one of your pilots seems like a terrible idea."

Setsuna is about to answer when Wang Liu Mei gestures for him to stay silent before responding.

"To show our sincerity that we're here to negotiate in good faith and that this isn't a trick. Your organization is one of the few in this world that seeks to end conflict rather than promote it. Such an organization that aligns with the values of Celestial Being is incredibly hard to find in the Earth Sphere, and we'd rather not make enemies of a potential ally."
"And Queen Ismail? What does she have to do with this?" You ask as you gesture to the royalty in question.
"Setsuna saved me from an attempt on my life while I was traveling the world. We kept encountering each other after that, and he eventually revealed who he was to me when I confronted him. After he thwarted another attempt on my life, I decided to try and contact Celestial Being. They responded, and we reached an agreement of sorts. Now, one of the Gundam Meisters is always on standby in Azadistan for my protection in exchange for me giving them what intelligence I can find and allowing them a hiding place in the country." Marina explains.

Kati chooses that moment to speak up.

"Enough small talk. You claim to have intelligence that implicates Earth Federation officials in a scheme to destroy the Solar Vanguard. Do you have proof?"

Wang Liu Mei slides a tablet across the table. Lady Une picks it up.

"The first file is a list of correspondences between Alejandro Corner and several high-ranking members of Neo-Hope. The general tone of the messages conveys a distaste for the Solar Vanguard. They seem to dislike the notion of a military force in the Federation that doesn't answer directly to them."
"How do we know that these conversations haven't been falsified?" Kati asks.
"You'll just have to take our word for it. The second file, however, you will find to be quite genuine. It's a rejected budget allocation request for something called the A-LAW initiative. Alejandro Corner submitted another version to the Ministry of Defense yesterday, and one of our agents was able to lift request you see after doing some digging. I'm sure you can find a way to get the rejected allocation request, it's technically in the public record now, if you know where to look."

Lady Une looks to be in thought for a few seconds before asking another question.

"What do you want then? You obviously set up this meeting for a reason, you don't stand to gain anything from simply giving us this intelligence."
"Celestial Being wishes to come to an agreement with the Solar Vanguard." Wang Liu Mei says in a dissonantly sweet tone.
"And what would that agreement be?" Lady Une probes cautiously.
"I'll lay out the terms as simply as possible so there are no misunderstandings. Celestial Being will assist the Solar Vanguard in open conflict whenever the situation calls for it, especially when it would make sense to do so. In exchange, whenever Celestial Being acts of its own initiative, we simply ask that the Vanguard be...preoccupied elsewhere. We'll even assassinate Alejandro Corner to sweeten the deal, he seems to be the ringmaster behind the A-LAW initiative, and it's unlikely the organization will pose a threat to you even if it gets off the ground without him."
"How will you maintain your image with the public? Assassinating an Earth Federation official of Mr. Corner's position is not something that will be taken lightly." Kati points out.
"We'll leak a sanitized version of the intelligence we've given you and paint Alejandro as a greedy, power-hungry megalomaniac attempting to exploit the current state of the world to gain personal power. It honestly won't be that hard to do, judging from the correspondences he has with his colleagues, he already plays the part behind closed doors. We're merely going to show that side of him to the public." Wang Liu Mei answers with a hint of smugness.

Your group turns to Lady Une.

"Although I have been given authority to make decisions on behalf of the Solar Vanguard, I feel that this decision is not one to be taken lightly. Your thoughts on this, Lieutenant Ayana?"

She's asking you for advice?

What do you say?
[ ] Take the deal
-Earth cannot afford to be divided in such a turbulent time. Allowing the A-LAWS to come into existence would only make things worse.
--Alejandro Corner will die.
--If the A-LAWS come into existence despite this, their power will be greatly reduced.
--Celestial Being will openly assist the Solar Vanguard on request when fighting extraterrestrials (Boazanians, Balmians, Jovian Lizards, etc) and 'butt in' to assist when fighting warmongers or radicals, whether they be EFF, Neo-Zeon remnant, or ZAFT.
--The Solar Vanguard will 'ignore' armed interventions by Celestial Being whenever possible by being in action elsewhere. If the Vanguard ignores a Celestial Being intervention by doing nothing without being occupied elsewhere, the public and the rest of the EFF may find this suspicious.
-D-----'- H--- may assist if the Gundam Meisters are unavailable.

[ ] Reject the deal
-Earth is already a tumultuous place. What would this deal give us but more chaos?

You are Treize Khushrenada, and you're having an interesting meeting with Zero, the Man of Miracles. Despite his organization, The Black Knights, being barely a month old, they've made a name for themselves fighting Earth Federation radicals, organized crime, and other terrorist organizations. Zero has claimed that Neo-Britannia is planning an illegal invasion of Japan, and seeks to prevent it, as both the Solar Vanguard and the Black Knights have interests in the island nation.

"I apologize for the secrecy in taking you to this location, Colonel Khushrenada." Zero says cordially. Ah, he's referring to the fact that the Japanese man with the red hairband blindfolded you before frog-marching you into an SUV.
"I understand the need for operational security, I am not offended in the least."
"On to business then. Neo-Britannia is preparing to illegally invade Japan under the pretense of rooting out Zeon remnants that have compromised the country and its government."

Zero slides a file a across the table to you. You open the file and peruse it.

"They seem to be fixated on taking and holding Kamine island." You comment.
"Orders from the Emperor himself. While I cannot fathom why he is interested in an island with no strategic value, I am disinclined to let him have what he wants on principle. We know who the primary leaders of the invasion force will be, and how it will be executed. In exchange for giving these details to you, I also ask that you participate in my plan to stop the invasion before it can begin. In return, The Black Knights will work with the Solar Vanguard to bring peace to the Earth Sphere."
"Openly opposing Neo-Britannia is something that cannot be done lightly. If we intervene improperly, it will be political suicide for the Solar Vanguard."
"I realize this, which is why I have formulated a plan that will have your people coming out of this as heroes."
"Oh? What did you have in mind?"
"Agree to the terms I set, and you'll find out."

What does Trieze do?

[ ] Agree and go along with Zero's plan
-The Black Knights will assault General Septem's base, the Solar Vanguard will deploy to 'apprehend' the Black Knights, only to turn on Septem when the Black Knights explain what Septem is planning. You'll be assisted by W-0, a Knightmare unit from the Advanced European Union (AEU) that it was going to send to the Solar Vanguard anyway, and the Asura Strike Force, which has agreed to defect to the Solar Vanguard from Neo-Britannia, their commander citing mistreatment from Shin Hyuga Shaing, another one of the leaders of the planned invasion.
-Other leaders of interest include Gene Smilas and General Bartley. Smilas appears to be involved in obscuring the invasion from the wider Federation, the AEU in particular, until it actually starts.
-Zero has noted that it is highly unlikely that you will be able to implicate Emperor Charles as the leader/mastermind behind this, but Neo-Britannia will not be able to do something like this again in the near future if you are successful due to increased scrutiny.
-The Black Knights will provide an Intelligence Network focused on the Earth Federation, particularly on exposing corrupt or radical officials, in addition to openly assisting the Solar Vanguard on request. Zero stresses that his troops are not expendable, however, and that they cannot be everywhere at once.

[ ] Refuse

A/N: Here is the update as promised! Also, if you take both deals, Celestial Being won't be able to help with dealing with Chuck's super illegal invasion of Japan, they'll be too busy killing Alejandro. Please discuss and speculate, and I welcome constructive criticism.

I can see how both of these could definitely backfire, especially since Alejandro's not the real mastermind and we don't know what Charles really wants, but I did form this plan specifically to ally with the Meisters and Zero.

[X] Let's be bad guys
-[X] Take the deal
-[X] Agree and go along with Zero's plan

Well, this is basically unanimous. I'll probably close voting later tonight. I'm disappointed there's not more speculation or discussion. Hell, there's not even comments about the threadmark titles or the characters I use. One thing I thought would stir up discussion is this: is my depiction of Marina here out of character for her?
