Legend: d100 is exactly what it looks like; d100m10 is "roll a d100 and if it's less than 10 treat it as 10"; "success" is "odds of finishing this in the oncoming turn."
Robinton starting template
Calculation Hearts allocation: 3 to Atraxas; need to decide on other 7 (Balkavus isn't eligible; Harkar is on Assault and can't use one). I'm assuming we're handing one each to Urma and Nameria since they'll both get ~+2d100 out of it across the turn.
Mandatory:
-Tarakan Doctors - Urma 1st - DC 50 - 2d100+14 - 114.9 avg progress, 94.0% success
-Factory Investigation - Balkavus - 7 Suspicion - DC 162 - 1d100+11 - 61.6 avg progress, 0.0% success
-Rebuilding the Schools - Atraxas S - DC 257 - 4d100m10+45 - 249.3 avg progress, 44.8% success
-Nanoplague - Atraxas L, ask Vulka if she would
like to help (ie: wouldn't cost a Favor; would likely yield less than a full Favor's worth of help but still some) - DC 462 - 10d100m10+53 - 563.4 avg progress, 87.3% success
-Study the Alloys - Atraxas P1, ask Gravus if he would
like to work on this (ie: wouldn't cost a Favor; would likely yield less than a full Favor's worth of help but still some) - DC 317 - 10d100m10+53 - 563.5 avg progress, 99.8% success
Almost Mandatory:
-Contact the Homeworld - Atraxas P2 - 10 Resources - various trade goods including 30k Alloys and 500 Calculation Hearts for ~1k Favor - DC 5 - 1d100 - 50.5 avg progress, 96% success
--Maybe try to get 511 Calc-Hearts even if it costs an extra ~35 Favor? (This would let us sell to 10 Archmagi AND have easily enough left to 5x Planetary Acq next turn.) (5x Planetary Acq with 1 large-barge takes 490x5 DC, so 491 to guarantee success.)
--See The Froggy Ninja's notes on requirements
here and
here.
--Sell a pair of Calc-Hearts each to several prominent Archmagi (at minimum Sincratus, Quirana, Gravus, and Luraia)
--
Non-Action - ask Quirana to train Atraxas in +1 Faith and Akiona in "as much Diplomacy as possible (you're allowed to take several turns if you need them and/or think it would be significantly more efficient)" - Next turn.
-Donate to the local Church - Nameria 1 of 3 - Resources 25, Suspicion -10 - DC 20
Time-sensitive:
-DAoT Vessel - Atraxas P3 and ??? - Resources 10
-Assault Warband - Atraxas M and Harkar and Nameria 2 of 3 and ??? - Resources ???
-Mesoplanet 05 - Atraxas P4 and ??? - 10 Resources - DC 50 - 1d100m10+53
So far, we're at 55+(AssaultWarbandCost) Resources used. We have 2 Atraxas Personal Actions, Atraxas Intrigue and Faith and Diplomacy, 1 Nameria Action, 1 Urma (Stewardship) Action, and our Intrigue and Diplomacy Advisor Actions left.
Probably the best bets in their categories:
-Improve the External Spynet - Atraxas I and Nameria - Resources 10, Suspicion 20 - DC 30 - 1d100m10+1d100+64 - 165.5 avg progress, 100.0% success
--2nd breakpoint - DC 90 - 1d100m10+1d100+64 - 165.6 avg progress, 97.6% success
--3rd breakpoint - DC 180 - 1d100m10+1d100+64 - 165.5 avg progress, 36.5% success
--4th breakpoint - DC 300 - 1d100m10+1d100+64 - 165.5 avg progress, 0.0% success
--The one big counter-argument I can think of is "wow that's a lot of suspicion for what it's giving us (considerable though that is)."
--I believe we can keep this active next turn. We should be guaranteed max=13 Suspicion cost, and with average=165 progress on this-turn we'll only have 4 Suspicion cost.
-Atraxas Faith and Nameria 3rd Action - I feel tempted to throw them both on "Learn about alien religions" for massive progress, since that's almost guaranteed to (effectively) autocomplete a future Action or two. But we could throw Atraxas on that and Nameria on Orphanages or some such? Or we could just avoid any Suspicion increases here. And, honestly, maybe we want Nameria in fewer Actions - or to put most of her efforts towards
War this turn. Though, given the Orphanage Education rolls get penalized if Nameria is super-busy, we'd do well to give her as
few Actions as possible...
-Sector Meeting - I'm saying (but you're welcome to disagree) Atraxas D and Akiona and Isha's Seed - Resources 5 - ???
-Deep Mining - Urma 2nd - Resources 25 - DC 75 - 2d100+14 - 115.0 avg progress, 82.3% success
--The best thing we can vaguely afford that Urma could reasonably accomplish this turn. I don't see anything that it would be good to get her started on early either,
except maybe Cybernetic Clinics - and that seems like something that should wait for Study Harkar.
Now we're at 120+(Assault Warband Cost)+(Atraxas Faith)+(Nameria 3rd) Resources used. We have 2 Atraxas Personal Actions left.
Note for next turn, aka Turn 9:
- We need to start Forge of War if we want it done by Turn 11. We need to do mostof our Invasion Prep this turn, actually.
- Simulation Arrays! We could actually 1-turn Crucible of War on Turn 10 if we want to. And I'm starting to think we should.
- FIX THE ECONOMY: For Resources, we should ensure we're succeeding at 5 full instances of Planetary Acquisition, by committing the Calculation Hearts. Then we'll commit 2 Atraxas Actions (and maybe a bit to spare?) on Planetary Barge (large variant), and wind up spending ~6.5k total Resources in exchange for 5 Actions * ~27 Planets per Action * 90 Resource Profit per Planet = ~12k Resources, for a total profit (this turn) of around 5.5k Resources (and around 12k each subsequent turn).
- If we're willing to commit 5 Atraxas Actions we can reliably finish 2 Barges for (very slightly less than) double the profit.
- With Simulation Arrays, this is massively simplified. One Atraxas Action should finish 2 Large Barges with room to spare, and our 5x Calc-Heart Stack should give us all the Resources we could use.
- We could also grab Gravity as a 1-turn, with 8x Gravus and 1x Atraxas Learning.
- Overall projection: Assuming Gravity gives a x1.5 bonus, 75 planets-per-Acq times 5 Acquisitions is 375 Planets. That's an initial-Turn profit of around 16,750 Resources, and a long-term profit of 33,750 Resources per Turn.
- Anything we haven't taken of: Exoplanet 05, Golems, DAoT Ship, and Chaos Warband.
- So Exoplanet 05, Golems, and DAoT Ship.
- Also talk to Osiris, possibly.
- We should probably put a single Action into Sincratus' Treatise on Biology, since that both buffs some of our future Actions and completes the Exatari Mission.
- Non-Action - ask Quirana to train Atraxas in +1 Faith and Akiona in "as much Diplomacy as possible (you're allowed to take several turns if you need them and/or think it would be significantly more efficient)"
- Really, we might be better off to give Atraxas +4 Faith to get to 20 Faith, depending on how things go. 20's the cutoff for getting +2d stat-bonus per Simulation Array (effective change: +10d per action currently, +12d in the future).
- We might be able to sell additional Calc-Hearts - for her to resell/loan to her allies/minions - for a few more Favors if necessary?
- Very good choices include: Talk to Archmagos Luraia Teral, Talk to Shezu, Akiona Mino's Augments.
- Meta Flux - foundational tech, and a single Action should finish this plus the next 2 followups. We should have, at minimum, a ton of info to send back to the Homeworld, and we might have a good Resource/Alloy generator going.
- Check with author for Exatari Homeworld progress on research, particularly Veil Physics. This should bonus success chance on The Veil Harvester and The Radiant Forge, plus some other things - it might give a bonus to the Information Library bonus.
There's a corner of my mind that wants to ask Gravus to spend his 8 Favors owed to us, plus we'd spend one Atraxas Action, and 2-turn Gravity. (Gravus with Calc-Hearts makes 6d100+50 progress per turn, +6d100 per additional Action. 8 Favors means 48d100+50 per turn, so he'd be making ~2474 progress per turn. Atraxas makes ~555 progress per turn. So we'd get cumulative (2474+555)*2 progress in 2 turns, or 6058 > 5000 progress.) I think this is probably a bit much, but I'm considering it.
I'm also considering seeing if any of the Archmagi would make sense to take on our expeditions - Leon said to "use common sense".
Leon has clarified that
this is the Meet The Elves turn - it's listed as "Sector Meeting", and we need to decide whether to send (Akiona, Akiona and Atraxas, or Akiona and Atraxas and the Seed).
On the other hand, the Golems aren't time-sensitive.
On the downside again, Nameria should not be kept super-busy because that will impact her Orphanage Education work.
On the... interesting? side, Nameria could be put on the Exatari Religion action, but shouldn't unless we're fine with her likely realizing Atraxas is a xeno. Which might be fine or might be catastrophic; we don't know her well enough to say.
