Ah, the joys of being a Setting Background turned into Actual Character That Needs To Have Their Decisions Explained.
Even if that explanation boils down to: "RELIGION IS CRINGE."

"The Emperor doesn't actually talk to anyone, he just directly Imposes his Will on people, which is why everyone has a different interpretation of what he says, colored by their own biases and beliefs"

The only thing that's in common is that the Emperor is really bad at everything but killing things, and things that facilitate him killing things.

I mean, the imperial religion works against chaos. See Sisters of Battle, chapters, etc. It's just that it's not enough to make up for the conditions that the empire imposes on its people. It's sort of a miracle that every hive doesn't turn into a chaos-pit within the decade.

Even we have an inquisition, though they're a lot less busy than the imperial equivalent.

Quality-of-life increases are anti-chaos all on their own.

Edit: what religion do the Lamenters follow? Still imperial, or the star-child? Does that change their chaos resistance?

This is your daily reminder that the Imperial Faith is literally derived from the writings of the First Heretic!

Remember that there's a caveat attached to our Faith Trait that says "This only applies to people who share your beliefs". Which means that the Emperor's utter inability to compel the hearts and minds of people outside of simply imposing his thonks on them means he failed to spread the trait.
I think he could have if he actually wanted to spread a religion, but he was basically a Reddit Atheist that despised all religion which made his conquests in the Great Crusade all the more bloody as they had the goal of ripping out all traces of religion whereas he could have tried syncretism if he accepted faith being a thing in the Imperium (and not just the Mechanicum). Not helped with him basically trying to speedrun conquering the galaxy.

Yes, so he set up the Imperial Truth to be a Cult of Reason where people only believed in Science, Rationality, and Objective Reality….

…unless that goes against what the Emperor is saying, b/c the Emperor is the greatest being in existence and anyone that believes in anything different from him is either a stupid idiot or a bullshitting liar that needs to be "corrected", for the Emperor is Always Right and the sole arbitrator on what is Truth and anyone that says differently deserves to be ultramurdered.

Also the Emperor is definitely not a God*, any insistence otherwise should be met with fiery death.

*unless you're a red-robed toaster fucker, in that case he IS a God deserving of worship (yes this is canon).

With Civilian Warp Fleets unlocking Interstellar Shipping Companies, it opens up two new sub-votes over the weekend. In this one, the first one, you will write up companies, at least their names, with optional lore/fluff of them, so that I can create three possible bonuses for each winner, with one to be gained per company in the vote tomorrow. (Mainly so that I won't have to write down 50 possible options. :V)

Try to keep the names pointed in the direction of the traits you would like to possibly see. Military Manufacturers are more likely to gain military related bonuses, while a Medical ISC will gain medicine related stuff.

Interstellar Company Time [Choose 3]:
(6-Hour Moratorium)
[] (Write-In Interstellar Shipping Comanpy)
-[] (Optional Lore/Fluff - Please only ~100 Words.)

[] Little Grox Burger Consortium
-[] Grox, common to many worlds, especially human ones, are used by a galaxy-spanning Imperial food consortium to produce the famous "Grox Burgers." This consortium issues charters to Rogue Traders, who are, in turn, given carte blanche over creating franchises and Grox farms. One of those franchises has managed to survive through the collapse of Imperial control over the local Sector and just managed to rise once again as a force to bring good food, mass agriculture, and non-working frozen creme dispensing machines to the Federation!

[] Fang & Claw Entertainment Incorporated
-[] A Yeeni gaming company that managed to strike several deals with other corporations to export electronic entertainment and amusement machines for personal or mass use, which has since rapidly united and grown to create several dozen associations across the most populated planets of the Federation. With the newly built yards for civilian ship construction, several small and fast vessels were bought with shares sold to make up the difference, carrying entertainment from Yeeni to Kil'drabi and Human settlements with increasing frequency.

[] Iron Star Shipyard Union Association
-[] An association of yard workers mostly organized from within military vessels carrying members as crew, the Iron Star Shipyard Union Association has since grown to take many yards under their wing to organize them into more efficient, less dangerous, and more productive sites for both military and civilian use.

Curses! The pacing will still be delayed!

My pain is immeasurable and my day, ruined.

Fun Fact: Him conquering Terra took longer than conquering the Galaxy! :V
Yeah, that could be attributed to Terra and Sol in general being uniquely fucked up from the Age of Strife and then after he took it over he had his Astarte Legions ready and the partnership of Mars as well as the Ring of Iron and the Jovian Shipyards to pump out ships so it became a bit easier, especially when there wasn't much organized resistance out in the Galaxy could have resisted if the Imperium concentrated on it with the big exception being whatever the fuck the Rangdan were since it took 3 Xenocides to wipe them out and supposedly the Emperor unleashed the Void Dragon to finally do them in.

[] Industrial Laborers of the Galaxy Safety Cooperative (Called "Wussies" after the organization that founded them.)
-[] Branching off from the Wussies, this Cooperative "Corporation" Specializes in spreading the benefits of safe equipment and Wussie membership, especially specializing in monitoring and bringing improved and safer factory equipment to the far corners of the Federation. They believe that if done with the understanding of those in factories, automation and the spread of specialized equipment over "one size fits all" equipment or equipment designed primarily for being cheap on the front end--and expensive on the back end in human misery and loss--can truly improve the galaxy. And of it also leads to the organization of Workers Groups to better fight for their rights and achieve their production goals... all the better!

Something like this?

They're definitely not the Wobblies as an Industrial Mega-Co-Op. :V

Can we make sure there are also biological augmetics? because I would say that only mechanics can be traumatizing for people or make them detached from reality, and it also avoids having to always go to the mechanic if some piece breaks.

[] Penta-Co Faith, Security, and Fun Experts Incorporated
-[] Born of the wars of Neon, Penta-Co is a company selling both divine security services, religious artifacts and devices--and services, such as customized funerals--and operating the beginning of an entertainment empire, with five different Divine Theme Parks meant to both thrill and instruct children of all ages in the glories of the Star-Child and the fun of living and dying in the name of the Faith! They can promise that each of their charms is made by a real monk (TM) who prays over each talisman, charm, artifact or vestment. Satisfaction Guaranteed! Come down to your local Penta-Co supplier today, to play the latest game, Heretic Fall, based on a dramatic re-enactment of the coming campaign in Sub-Sector 621! (The company makes no promise as to the name, date, nature and the operations against Chaos in Sub-Sector 621. Adult supervision required for purchase, but product is confirmed to be free of actual Chaos symbols, artifacts, or ideas.)

Of the default examples this one:

[] Iron Star Shipyard Union Association
-[] An association of yard workers mostly organized from within military vessels carrying members as crew, the Iron Star Shipyard Union Association has since grown to take many yards under their wing to organize them into more efficient, less dangerous, and more productive sites for both military and civilian use.

Interests me alot

Hmm, I'm thinking of a telecom company to basically does Deep Space Beacons for free and use them as a relay to (with hours longs delay) transmit messages across systems.

@HeroCooky would this be valid?

[] Federation Post
-[]
Originally limited to the Droma system, this private postal service has been quietly expanded to finally service all federation systems. Now for the first time ever Federation businesses have a means to deliver their products (somewhat) reliably to their customers in any planet within the federation without government support, massively opening markets and lowering needed bureaucracy and red tape from the establishment."Neither vacuum nor asteroid nor solar storm stays these courageous couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

This good?
(Last line shamelessly stolen from Thalton)
