It will allow us to use Internal Nacelles people!!!! How can you accept the weakness of outriders? Go for the greatness of internal parts refuse the great evil of sticking vital equipment on outriders.

Need to make sure future Enterprises have a steady supply of lamed light cruisers to rescue, so having an obvious weak point to shoot to cripple these things is important. :V
 
Eh, while I'm bullish on prototypes in general, I think they should be taken with a consideration of role and tradeoffs. This ship will likely need all the space it can get, if it was more of a scout rather than a combat ship, I probably would advocate for the anti proton dish. Maybe on the next ship so we can actually see how well it works before it goes on the Sovereign, but I think prototype weapons are probably more important for this one.
 
I feel like this ship should go all in on phasers, and Skimp out on everything else.

I like both and the internal one could be fun, but at same time the whole internal space. Eh, I'll go with standard...Let alone considering what some of my favorite designs are like...
