Star Wars An Officer and a Traitor (NO SV, you are an Imperial Officer and Traitor)

One very appealing project with kyber that could have INTERESTING unintended consequences. Is personal scale power armor. Which could both simplify shielding, and open many power intensive options otherwise locked. And considering the role of the crystals for Jedi, there may be hidden benefits for doing such.

And the mad lads in the force armor project would probably salivate at the opportunity.

Personal shields make guy be far more practical than power armor.

If one were to take a lightsaber crystal, and put all it's power into a shield, how powerful would the shield get?

A question that I am unsure if it has any real answer…

Mandalorian armor is resistant to lightsabers. As a Moff on Mandalore, who says we can't get connections to procure some pieces?

The Mandos do sell that stuff in limited quantities. The problem is getting the proper channels to access said resources.

I imagine we might be able to get a Shield Gauntlet if we get enough Mandalorian Respect.

The only thing I'm sad about is that we didn't manage to make our own honor guard. I was really looking forward to the rivalries.

Before we begin operations in the sector we really need to know what is going on. While all the prep work is somewhat boring and tedious, it should help all our other actions here.

Knowing your luck, you might have an all mando cast.

Just remember how good Batman is with prep time…

Now Constantine can do the same bullshit especially with bonuses

WHY AREN'T WE FUNDING THIS!? Anyway yeah star craft gear would be a major help
We only have so many actions, and sooo many plates to be spinning. We hadn't had the time to do any real poking on the ripples of design brought by our actions, or fringe designs that are more 'omake creations'.
As far as starcraft, the first real design I truely ported over, the Siege tank, just, ported surprisingly well. I didn't know the battle tank cannon mode did not in fact shoot any metal.

Also, as far as omake ideas...

Some I am considering is possibly an omake covering the omake introduced biggest rebel cell ever since the Partisans 'bit the dust'. With the intent of basically making them the first faction to really start using Kyber Crystals after stumbling on a major shipment slated for the Death Star project.

Serving both as an introduction to their ad-hoc science division possibly involving two more expies from starcraft, and a first recorded case of Kyber Crystals used in combat. With a possibility of having them use some to upgrade their capital ship.

"We found a strange crystal in the latest shipment we raided. With how well defended the shipment was, this clearly isn't some common crystal"
"That, seems to be a kyber crystal, though they usually aren't that big. Some records say that they were in some way tied to the Jedi, and like many other cultures, have venerated these crystals."
"Where did I hear of Kyber before?"
"So, why would the empire want Religious relics?"
"Not sure, the only guess is that it seems that the crystals may have been involved with some coming of age ceremony, where they also get their personal lightsaber."
"That's it! Galan Erso made an interesting article on the potential of Kyber crystals as a power source! It is the kyber crystal that is the core of why a lightsaber could function, and even small pieces, such as the ones usually found holds great amounts of energy that could be tapped."
"Great. So the Empire is looting religious crystals to power some secret project. Really don't like the sound of this"
"Well, what do we do with this big thing?"

"Any idea where it came from? It might have come from some sort of temple."
"We can't exactly track it's source. And even if we could, the empire would just loot it again, considering they seem to be gathering them for something."
"And they will probably want it back, painting an even bigger target on us."
"Couldn't we possibly hook it up on our ship's power grid?"

"That... Likely would require rewiring the whole ship to handle the power that connecting the crystal to the grid might give, and since we don't even know how much power a small one would give, we would want to experiment first. But if this works, we could possibly overhaul the ship to take advantage of having a lot more power to play with."
"The crystals could also open other opportunities, though it's religious importance should likely always be at least considered when Kyber is involved. Especially as there might be some aspects that Galan Erso would have been unable to detect when studying them, especially with how entwined the Kybur crystals were to the Jedi."
*A small period of silence*
"Good point, some of the stories of jedi can get really crazy, and with just how connected the Jedi were to it, to the point Jedi blocked attempts to research it, it is entirely possible that the Jedi could have been able to tap into another aspect of the crystals. One that is not known due to the lack of means to study the source of the Jedi's power."

A/N: A little something here. And also, funny note, legends Kyber crystals were kinda just pretty gems until a Jedi attunes it, and only really noted for use in Lightsabers. While Canon has them be immensely powerful objects that had been used in many superweapons, including the Death Star...

Now, how exactly that might merge, no idea. And honestly, only old order Jedi, and possibly a very few amount outside would even know how exactly the two bits may merge.

Field Testing and Firing
Field Testing and Firing

INC Field Base Epsilon, somewhere in the Outer Rim.

(Operative Carson POV)

"I'm telling you it's a mess of a thing." You said looking at the siege tank's barrel.

"Are you doubting the ability of our engineers to make a productive piece of mobile heavy artillery?" Head engineer Armos said.

"No. I doubt it s long-term effectiveness in the field. There is a difference. It's not a tank, its a mobile artillery piece!" You said. "It's going to be limited in its ability in the field proper!"

Armos chuckled. "Carson, this is the matter of making things that work with what we have, its the Outer Rim way. Consider the Vulture, fast, reliable, and above all cheap."

"Those are just rockets and a seat with some guns on it, a cheap knockoff of the BARC Speeders, their blasters are underpowered and the turning is shit, you'd have to be mad to make anyone use them in an engagement." You said.

"These have a record of winning fights with the Droid Army, not many but they work and have won, can't say any more." Armos said. "Now get down from the Seige Tank, we are going to start the test."

You got down into the testing bunker and sighed slightly. "I'm telling you, most of these are one off cheap techs that we use until we find something better."

"So you think." Armos said. "Now…observe. Bring them out!!"

The Seige tanks came out, one…Two, Three…Five…Ten..TWENTY!

"WHAT THE Hells kind of show are you running here, the boss is gonna hear of this!! I've seen the test Data, the tanks are underpowered compared to the larger artillery used by the Empire, hells some of the equipment used by the Separatists are more powerful! I'm ending this farce of a time!" You said.

"Sit down Carson…watch and learn properly." Armos said. "Bring out the Targets."

And then you saw it, a dozen or so old AAT's, AT-ST's, and dozens of bunkers, filled with damage sensors and old labor droids.

"An impressive array of targets. What a display." You said sarcastically.

"Open fire." Armos said to the comm.

And then like a Symphany of firepower, the hodepodge targets were subsumed in fire and explosions.

It was beautiful!!

"How did you overcome the weakness of the Artillery proper!?" You said.

"Simple, we just made enough of them so that such things no longer mattered." He said.

--------------

"Get me a Holo to Rebel INC Manufacturing, I have test Data that they will be very interested, YES I mean to say we have a solution to our underpowered artillery problem!" You shouted.

The wonderful thing about the siege tank. They aren't Just Tanks, and they aren't Just Artillery. Something that opens up many possible stunts and rude surprises for the enemy. There may be tools that can do one or the other better, but very few if any that can do both. Starcraft Terrans very much survived on versatility, which is impressive when compared to the other two factions in that verse.
