[X]The Blood of Kallig
-[X]The Grand Army's Savior: The Grand Army of the Republic, nominally the Clone Troopers, are not well. They are being forgotten, broken, and dying by the tens of thousands every year. You are going to give them hope. And a job that they can be proud of.
-[X]We Trust Together: You look at Rika and smile at her, before handing over the simple piece of paper that she saw. The Words were the same as you asked before you married her. "Will you Trust me?"
-[X]Constantines Conservation: You and the Corellian Zoo are going to try to save endangered species. For fun and profit of course.
Mostly because I would find it funny if Constantine is the descendant of one of the most amenable Sith to ever exist. They did use the Corellian Zoo as a weapon after all.

Young lady, this is a CEC household and I am disappointed in your choice to apply to Kuat. =P Also, the Kuat Empire is a lot less nice than ours is here.
Well, if it's what she wants, then I hope she's every bit as good at it as we raised her to be; if she wants to come home she's always welcome. If this is her choosing her path, then we won't stand in her way.

The Galactic Arms Race
Recent Events have set in motion a new age of innovation, with Imperial politics only furthering motivation to not get left behind. And the many still independent shipyards and arms companies are eager to deliver, finding customers that otherwise would have been supplied by the nationalized industries or certain big names like Kuat.
One particular area thriving is the field of fighters, as since the empire formed, there was a major dearth of truly advanced craft. Leading to innovation as starfighter corps compete to grab attention, including some unique designs such as the Viking. The Viking is an interesting design, for it seems the designers were inspired by the Siege tank, seeking to design a heavy fighter that could also be deployed as a ground mech. In spite of the insanity of a mech that doubles as aircraft, it is impressively rugged, and built to be easily maintained. But, perhaps because of the insane idea, that makes its inspiration pale in comparison, it is hard for a pilot to learn to truly use, for not only are their two distinct modes, but the designers have yet to figure out how to truly make the transformation process safe. But, loaded with the special antimatter torpedoes designed as a possible alternative to proton torpedoes, and two massive miniguns meant for use in mech mode. The Viking, through an espionage incident was leaked to the Magistrate's rebel cell, where it made a name for itself as a devastatingly effective heavy fighter-craft, even with it lacking the same level of mobility as it's main competition.
There interestingly enough have been forays into armor, such as trying to figure out how to make the shields that were standard issue for the old republic cheap enough to make into something that wasn't too costly for non special forces, which had been paired with some groups exploring the possibility of power armor, to enable the wearer to carry more weight on the battlefield, including heavier weapons. And one group of mad lads apparently stumbled upon some article that left them convinced that they could possibly develop a suit that could pull on the force in some manner, no clue if anything would come from that whatsoever.
There are investigations on alternate Star destroyers going on as well if you know to look. Such s the ill-fated Hammerhead class SD, which might become less unique, as some moffs and Imperial officers are considering the lessened logistical footprint such a design has, as well as the means to produce some parts as a boon in these uncertain times, even as some elements grumble fiercely about how it would clearly lose to a 'true ISD' in a fight. The interest in the Hammerhead seemed to have emboldened other companies such as Corellia and even Mon Cal to try their hand at making a rival to the ISD 2 currently in production. While little info is open for easy access, it will be interesting to see what they bring to the market.
A/N: Well, decided to put a bit of work trying to flesh out the arms race, and mecca of innovation going on as all sides are prepping for serious conflict. Which, incidentally would pull customers from those more affiliated to the empire due to them being busy making official empire designs. And considering the Hammerhead exists from my last omake, it probably has a market in the current climate, with it's lower logistical footprint than both of the other ISDs in existence being appealing when surrounded by uncertainty. Cause the ISD, even though it isn't used much in war, requires significant logistics to keep operational, which proved a massive problem in the Disney Canon timeline. As they simply couldn't keep them fully operational. And seeing a ship actually compete with the ISD, it may serve as an inspiration for others to make their own to compete, or at least an excuse to work on future rebel designs such as mon cala.

Constantinian Guard
To: Republic High Command
From: [Redacted]
Republic Intelligence report: Constantian Guard
Due to recent events happening across the galaxy the traitors within Imperial Corellia have started to assemble a guard to protect the Usurper's Dog Archibald Constantine. As one can see the armor takes more cues from ancient barbaric Corellian armor when they were the scourges and pirates of the Core regions. This is but another sign that the Empire is degrading the glory and civilization of the Core Worlds. Why I would even say-[Cut off due to unnecessary information]
Armament: SK11 tactical helmet: Coloqually called Skull(s) by native Correllians these helmets provide a range of gear for their wearers. From an inbuilt comm system to a range of vision modes. Ranging from thermal and night vision these helmets are meant to aid the wearer in almost any circumstance. It also allows for a wider range of vision than traditional helmets. The skull image is a compromise with the Imperial propaganda services.
(These helmets as [Redacted] wrote in their report do take more influence from ancient Correllian armor. With a glass-like dome instead of the traditional T shape found in most Republican-era armies. It does have its' roots in some of the more barbaric pre-Republic Correllian organizations. With the creation of the Constantian Guard, many Correllians are starting to become enamored with such a barbaric time. This agent suggests keeping a close eye on Correllia and any recruits from there, but to not worry too much otherwise.)
CA56 Rifle: Made by Correllian Arms this rifle steers away from more modern long-range armaments by using solid rounds. These modern slug throwers are not to be disparaged as our spies have been able to procure some for ourselves. Able to punch through most modern anti-ballistic armor these rifles are considered extremely dangerous. The rifles are starting to become prized by the Guard (and any who can get their hands on them) for their reliability, punching power, and ease of maintenance.
(Our spies in Imperial Center have also reported that these rifles have also caused a stir in the Emperor's Court. With the Stormtrooper Legions pushing for better armor to protect against these slug throwers.)
Caliburn Vibro Knife: The standard knife of the Guard is the Caliburn Vibro Knife. The Guard is trained extensively in not only its' maintenance and fight styles but also how to make use of it even as a dead blade.
(This blade is again another throwback to the barbaric ages before the Republic. Meant for silent kills even when the field is on it is almost completely silent.)
Dagda Power Armor: Considered one of the pinnacles of modern military engineering. The Dagda Power Armor protects the wearer from all but the most dangerous environments. Combined with the Skull it allows for pressurized use in little to no atmosphere environments. It is able to take multiple shots from blaster rifles and still protect the wearer. The armor also comes equipped with a muscle underlayer that aids the wear in lifting equipment.
Being able to be used from Space to Ground operations it is this operative's opinion that if not for the cost the Alliance should obtain sets of this armor for themselves. The only thing keeping this armor from mass production is cost and maintenance.
(This agent would also be remiss to not mention the rumors of experimentation with lost shielding technology. While likely bassless rumors it is said amongst some of the Correllian Aristocrats that the Constantinist are trying to research combining the armor with shields.)
It is this agent's opinion that Moff Constantine should either be recruited or eliminated as a potential threat.
For the Republic and the Alliance.
AN: Decided to write up a Rebellion Intelligence report. Thought to make it so that Constantine will get his own personal guard. If the other Moffs can have Death Troopers we should have our own guard.

Meanwhile:
???:"Hmmm. The Loyalists have the Death Troopers, and the Tarkinists are already forming their own elite Guard. Now Constantine is looking to form his own. Perhaps we should talk to Talia about setting up a Training Regimen for our own faction's guards. Especially as Constantine would probably appreciate her training magic."
...Why did it take me so long to realize we don't have a personal guard?
Constantine really is a disgrace to the Moffs if he doesn't have an elite guard. The Emperor would be furious if he found out about that and probably would put him to death for that. Treason is a distant secondary offense in comparison.
After all, as a proper Moff, we need to put fear in our enemies when we make a dramatic entrance. It is an ironclad rule for every high-ranking Imperial officer.
The two main paths for the Star Destroyers.
With the rise of the Hammerhead, one central question any designer is how their Star Destroyer is supposed to fight. For since the beginning that has always been the question, with the Venator having been backed by advocates of a carrier focus, due to being an existing design that was successful through its fighter corps. And the ISD being backed by the battleship advocates, seeing the carrier focus as a distraction and better used for other things.
This is the central question designers need to come to grips with, for the focus would have effects everywhere in the design, ranging from armor and shielding, to the importance of internal and surface space on the ship. A Battleship focus may have overall more space on the internals, but their surface space would be critical to fit the guns they need, while also needing armor to protect from other threats. Though depending on the design, such as the suggested idea of building a ship around a giant gun, things may be different. Though a Star Destroyer built around a gun like that would be more of a theoretical SSD killer in role thanks to the likely sacrifices to make such an idea work, alongside the gun only being able to shoot where the ship is facing. The Battleship would have little to no worries of Starfighter attrition weakening it's combat abilities, but at the cost of needing to worry more about possible ship damage from combat. However, while ship damage is less of a worry, battleships have inherently less power projection, thanks to it's ability to fight being concentrated on the ship itself, which also limits the ability to respond to the speed of the ship.
Then there is the alternative, the Carrier. Focusing on being a deployment center not only for it's ground compliment, but also for its starfighter compliment that is the center of the ship's fighting strategy. The focus on Starfighters does lead to an overall reliance on maintaining the starfighter corps, as while weapons should still exist, the difference in priorities would likely leave them less well designed for mainline combat.
The Venator for all its brilliance, tried to do both, for its designers didn't quite understand what they were making. Something which bled over to the commanders whom commanded the ships. For the Venator had the same firepower the first ISD did, alongside it's massive fighter compliment. And yet, it doesn't quite have the same durability as the ISD, which incidentally made them great support craft, but were often found on the frontlines where its not truly exceptional durability became somewhat of a problem. Which, however doesn't diminish just how brilliant and well made the Venator is. While designed as a multi-role ship, suitable for very much any role that might be needed, it stumbled on a winning formula for a strike carrier. Which also serves to show just how complicated this argument really is, and the many, many factors that influence how a ship functions best.
A/N: Decided to do a little something here, focusing on Star Destroyer theory, including a nod to the concept of building a ship around a gun, and how such could be an answer to super projects tank destroyer style. And well, the bit of accidental brilliance tidbit on the venator might help elevate it should it's designer, go down in flames alongside her pet ISD 2 project.
