Star Wars An Officer and a Traitor (NO SV, you are an Imperial Officer and Traitor)

[X] Plan Momentum

Personally leaning towards momentum. Partly because our learning stat is indeed ABYSMAL
A SIX when our second lowest is Intrigue which is in the 20s!

Precisely. We should maximize our leverage now while we have it (who knows, maybe Galen Erso is erasing the handrails as a rebellion thing and we could pick up him and his absurd polymath pacifist brain to work for us for learning) and knowing we can always pick up the low-hanging-fruit in Diplomacy or Stewardship later.

EDIT: He's prrrrobably in hiding after realizing Tarkin and Krennic are planet-destroying-assholes two to three years ago.

Also, if we're taking the Rebel Trust on the trust side--and we are, nobody's questioning that--the penalty is a one-turn Imperial Detection bonus. The only place those show up is Rebel Actions (i.e. Han Solo) so spending one of our precious six actions on an action we're penalizing seems wasteful. We could just as easily do it next turn when we won't have an Imperial Detection bonus.

We can always form a slush fund on an off turn, or a turn where there isn't as much going on. Like, we have the innate bonuses to wave our hands and it happens.

Also @Magoose do the omake bonuses apply to the Imperial Detection roll, and is there a Detection roll on a turn where we take no Rebel Actions?

There is a detection roll but without doing a rebel action or taking a rebel choice on the loyalty event, it is a negative 100

You've answered the latter half of the question but not the former--do omake bonuses count (beneficially) against detection rolls or not?

Hay @Barondoctor I could be wrong but I don't see anything in your plan that involves a Martial Choice

We get 6 actions and they're not type-restricted.

Shipyards and Clones are both Martial-adjacent, but we're getting there via Stewardship and Learning respectively. I don't have to do a Martial action here, I don't see anything there that's truly absurd, and there's opportunities on the table I'm more interested in.

Still not sure why you want to _also_ take a Rebel Action when we've got a buffed Imperial Detection Roll coming, but it's your plan.
:???: Unless I'm badly misunderstanding what the QM said, the default Detection Roll has a gigantic penalty, meaning it effectively cannot succeed unless that -100 isn't factoring in the +10 from Known Dissident and/or the +10 from Keep CorSec Separate and can therefore be ignored for all intents and purposes.

The detection rolls loses that -100 if you do a rebel action or take the rebel side on loyalty event. I think I said that.

That was my understanding: no rebel action, no rebel trust event, no significance to the roll. Rebel action or rebel trust event, roll.

Is there a particular concern for doing both?

But you can't play the loyal officer forever… not when things might come to a head :V

Especially when the entire point of the quest is to rebel.

Never said that the probability of us finding out was going to be zero.

Nor that it wasn't at some point going to be the right play to make.

Just that I really really didn't want to find out this turn. Edit: or next turn, or the one after that, and with Call For Leniency we won't have to, by which time we might be in a position to be able to survive Finding Out.
