I mean, both Fuuma and Aoyama had "warning signs" before they fully transformed; it seems we've caught Mr Titan-Tumor in an early stage of his existence.

I hear you. But for Fuuma at least, the warning signs were psychological in nature. Kaoru has been nothing but emotionally stable so far as Zaiyu can tell. It's his biology that's in flux. Unless you're theorizing that Kaoru isn't the Titan, he's being slowly possessed by the Titan as a result of the leaking curse in his eyes?
 
Pretty sure the Titan is whoever is playing puppet-master, not Karou.

Karou gets to be the escaped magic experiment that gets superpowers!

...You know it's really really funny that the more we investigate (like proper sensible people) the state of things before the big plan the more we find out things that would be really fraking important before they'd usually come into play.

This is what basic competence looks like other foolish villians! Take notes you clearly need them!

I promise you, if you had gotten started on your actual job of making monsters and causing trouble, we wouldn't be in this situation. I mean, most of these balls would still be in play (except the upcoming dark magical girl I had to make because you guys took your original rival home with you), but you've done a lot of sequence breaking!

At least you didn't clear the hospital dungeon yet. Not totally sure what I would've done if you had. I mean, I'd have figured something out, but jeez. I know you're playing an infiltrator character but come on. You need to take a few of my plot hooks or I will start rolling to have the magical girls bring the plot to you.

We aren't just side tracked at this point. We've literally found irrefutable evidence that there exists an ongoing magical anomaly of sufficient relevance to the Estil situation to necessitate changing the key focus of the mission's main objective. Also, we did something our master couldn't. We need to make sure she's there when we finally have the big reveal.

Don't worry, we're abducting the third wheel plot hook for study next turn. Also, I'm in a mood to celebrate, so I want Mitl off the base. Can we get an action to teleport him to some poor cities botanical garden?

We were meant to be doing villian of the week things and we actually got started on that with the bat but uhh.
The (currently) little guy is off getting cozy in the school…

OH! Hospital girl was the Dark Magical girl crafted by that hospital thing but we abducted her from that plotline!

As for the Wstil thingy, that's a biggie and unfortunately for us?
It probably means we have to talk to Mitl.
Because he deals with life and souls and something that can turn Humans into Estil sadly would be right up his alley if Zaiyu is throwing his hands up in despair.
 
Honestly we might need a recap of Turn 5, just because it's been a long year and we've all prob forgotten something.
 
Dark magical girl is new, her identity not something planned previously most likely, as a result of us defusing Sasori, which meant he didn't capture tomoe's evil father's attention and cause said bad guy to divert more resources to mana eaters, resulting in some dark magical girl side project to bear fruit.

That's probably not good, but it's a problem for future Zaiyu. Present Zaiyu is going to teleport back to the base, stuff his face in a pillow, and scream.

Eh. I was rooting for Zaiyu to arrange simultaneous relationships with all five magical girls using different identities. All five magical girls and also Kaoru is an acceptable alternative.

I like this take on it, but I'm less certain that the fleet would actually go along with this plan. Even if we biologically transformed every human into an Estil, they would still be ideologically and politically human, yeah? It would be possible for them to coexist with fleet Estil on a terraformed Earth, but would the fleet want them there?

...And probably should capture her before she causes us too much trouble. Making her the first Human-Estil conversion ought too...actually no that actually might cause more problems hmm...but we do need to deal with her somehow...
 
It is amusing how Zaiyu actually doing his official job properly instead of getting distracted causing random havoc and picking fights with teenage girls has triggered massive ripples to the setting.

He will still pick fights with teenage girls later, but now has managed to get off so many critical revelations that his entire crew of villains is going to have to re-evaluate their priorities and what they're even doing here, because wow, things are not lining up with what was in their briefings. This goes beyond 'scope creep' and into 'consider if our bosses even expected us to survive, and if our initial mission statement is even relevant'.
