Something Wicked (Villainous Magical Boy Quest)

Hey, I wanted to knock him out personally and keep him from getting involved in this magic stuff. It's not my fault that wasn't an option.

Also, couldn't we just get Rose to give us a tour? It'd probably be more fun anyway.

He was already being knocked out so it would've been redundant. Also, being unconscious won't help him.

Rose isn't on the student council, she knows nothing about Yuu Seiki's existing excuse for being in the school. You can get a tour from Rose after you've established an actual story for Yuu.

I mean back when he first found us. I advocated for framing him as brainwashed and using that as an excuse to knock him out.

Didn't Yuu(Zaiyu) establish that he was recently moved into the area, and visiting the mall to grab furniture, to rose while comforting her after his awakening? Doesn't seem like it would take much to transition from that into I'm looking for a new school to attend or I want to at least look at my options before I settle.

Also it was previous implied that the tour would be on Sunday, hence Rose wouldnt be in the school? And as Silly said, random students don't give people tours? Unless Zaiyu double illusions but that is another can of worms. It would make more sense for Tomoe to give the tour than Rose.

More people want to support Kyoko than care what happens to Kaoru. It was close, though.

IDK, I just don't care about Kaoru at all, probably because of my distaste for magic-school anime, your not god because you run a school club dude.

Your visit to the school might be slightly postponed.

Good! I'll be honest, I hope we never make it to that arc (I think I'll check out of the quest once it starts and come back when its over), magic high school anime is chock full of my least favorite anime tropes worse than isekai sometimes.

Kaoru isn't even the student council president. He's the vice president. That makes him even less god-like. Seriously though, I'll be trying to keep the influence of the student council on a reasonable and semi-realistic level.

Bold of you to assume this is a magic high school! It is a regular ordinary high school with a few magical girls attending. That's a recipe for very different anime tropes! Also, I really doubt Zaiyu can fake his way through school at his current level of Earth knowledge. The transfer student plot point will have to wait until he's more confident in his infiltration.

Yeah its not like I hate the tropes or anything, it just annoys me.

When I said magic school I kinda just meant the whole "the setting is a modern high school, these club presidents are all super important for some reason and also supernatural" bad phrasing on my part, though I also dislike the "this is a modern school where they learn to fight X supernatural thing" genre. Makes it sound like I dislike magical girls when I really don't. Generally I feel the tropes work better when they are in a setting that is kinda explicitly not earth, like Mother of Learing, or RWBY. IDK this is an off topic rant, glad you aren't going to ham up the whole student council thing too much.

Understandable, but in that case, this quest may not be for you. Since this is very much a classic magical girl quest, which means school life is going to play in one way or another. Zaiyu doesn't have to go to school, but school is nonetheless going to be part of the setting. Even Sailor Moon worries about her grades, after all. It's part of the genre!

Negaverses are my favourite kind of omake. Just saying. 👀
If the thinking muscles manage to regain enough enthusiasm to function sometime, sure.
You were too slow. Can't knock someone out if they're already asleep! We have to beat the monster, wake Kaoru up, and then punch him in the schnozz.
He wakes up, we knock him out, he wakes up, we knock him out, and we just loop that.
Kaoru is about to experience getting stun-locked.

Kyokoquest: "Chuckles. I'm in danger!"
If the thinking muscles manage to regain enough enthusiasm to function sometime, sure.
The thinking muscles decided to work really well, so here it is already. Sorry about the double post.
As a side note, do any of you have any tips for racing alternative versions of yourself? Asking for an alternative version of myself.

Kyokoquest: "Chuckles. I'm in danger!"
You shudder. "What… what is that?"

Kai doesn't seem too worried about it though, his expression one of calm. "It's a monster. A strong one."

On the other side of Kai, Kaoru makes a full-body shudder. He blinks rapidly, eyes unfocused, and pinches the bridge of his nose.

"You all right?" Kai asks.

He makes a vague noise. "Head hurts."

"Then maybe you should stay back. Kyoko and I will handle this."

...your sorry, WHAT?! "We will?" you squeak. What could the two of you possibly do about that... that... THING!?! Granted, Kai has some sort of magic-whatever stuff going on, but you?! You were in hospital for most of your life, that doesn't exactly transcribe to FIGHTING MONSTERS! And yet... Kai still seems undetered... and you gather your own will at that. "I mean, yes! We will! Don't worry about us."
And Kyoko continues to trust Kai, despite the sheer amount of incriminating evidence so far.

He just so happens to know Magic, and be 100% confident in his ability to fight this thing.

And then there's Kaoru, who falls unconscious when near a monster.

The tropes are working overtime, to ensure Kyoko doesn't question any of this.

The question for now is: Which one is more trustworthy? I'm inclined to say we keep trusting Kai for now, someone who can presumably fight monsters is a better option.

I'm concerned about Kaoru. If Kai is behind somehow behind this, then Kaoru could get killed by the monster and leave us alone with him.
On the other hand, though, it could be Kaoru who's behind this, and he's faking unconsciousness to avoid fighting his own minion. Agh, I'm no good at these mind games.

It's like a suspiciousness competition.

It could also be neither of them, no need to presume yet.

I'm honestly just hoping we can get to the school sections soon, those are fun.

It could also be both of them, and this is some giga-brain maneuverer to get us to trust one of them.

It's like a suspiciousness competition.
I've now got a mental image of a pair of judges commentating on how sus these two are being.

"And Kai's in the lead, by clearly knowing what to do in this situation- OOOoooh, and Kaoru catches up by falling unconscious! It's neck and neck folks!"

I still say we should knock them out and run for it.

Man, the negaquest for whichever one of these two is evil must be cackling so hard right now.

Oh, sure! I stole a bunch of good bunch of enthusiasm from one of my Negaverse counterparts, so I've got energy aplenty!

If my counterpart is in it, can you use StarSingerBlue as their name?

Splendid as always Rise! Also SillyLittleCoffe negaverse nickname is so cool, like an xianxia cultivator.
Edit: Wait a sec, is Sheet in the Wind me? To be a freshly laundered sheet in the sunlit wind, a true dream.

Thanks, and yeah, Sheet in the Wind was you. I was trying to go for more of a wind-theme this time, but I'm not sure I did it well.
Is Starlit Butterfly me ?
No, sorry. Starlit Butterfly is LunaMoth.

If the stun lasts long enough that we could completely deplete his health bar with basic jabs, I don't think "stun-locked" is quite the right term.

Hm, that explains the harpy. What a feathery fool.

I didn't include you, sorry.
There is, however, an open slot for anyone to take, if you want to have StormTheAlbatross'esStand.
I could also edit one in for you, if you'd like.
How about WindWhispererRed ? My original name is a reference to Macross Delta's Star Singer, and they have a singer of the winds there too.
FierceHarpyEmerald maybe.
I think it's GreatWyrmGold.
"I really don't think they're summoning a demon," you tell Kyoko. "And even if they were, summoning takes a lot of focus—I mean, that's what I've heard, anyway. I don't think they'd notice if we opened the door a little."
What are demons like, I wonder ? (I just finished Hazbin Hotel)

If he's normal? Probably about managing the school, and the players are very suspicious that Kai fights evil monsters when he's not at school.
You know, a quest about an ordinary guy terminally oblivious to the signs of Something Weird that the players are extremely aware of sounds kinda fun. No idea how well it would work in practice, though.

Depends on what Kaoru actually is.

If he's evil? Planning on turning us and Kyoko evil... jokes on them, that goals already half done!
