Like, I guess he is just going off of the rolls, but he is also the one who decides what bonus the enemy gets. I don't know what you are going for @Magoose but I'm not liking this mission at all.

Nah, @Magoose is more a slave to rolls. The dice didn't side with us this time so we were a joke. Other times the dice end up in our favor so then we roll over challenges that were supposed to be extreme.

You just need to accept that our agency has always existed at the mercy of the dice.

I am more mad that our eyes just seem useless at the things they are suppose to help prevent a lot of the time, this is like the third time now that something has gone wrong where our eye should have stopped but didn't. If they were never going to be used as intended we should have just gone of the generic Uchicha line and deal with the blindness cause it seems for a Hyuuga Shiro is blind.

I believe the explanation is that Shiro hasn't trained his hyuuga eyes to their full potential yet, and the player majority could have chosen not to take a c-rank mission.

I'm just glad magoose is running this quest. With Dynamic Alcoholism on indefinite hiatus (sleeping in Marianas's Trench), and Ashes in the dark in eternal damnation, few quests that interest me exist anymore.

Meh I might just be mad with all this talking about how well written a characters is and how there are plans for characters in the future whilst a basic part of our PC's biology and heck to some extent his characterisation ( he is part of the hyuuga clan who is a big family and has to deal with the fact that no matter what happens it will always seem like a big part of it will always dislike him, whether they have been the dead main branch or the recent traitors) is being ignored/hand waved for both the sake of comedy and in serious situations. Those roll we still would have lost but the idea they can have even an ambush roll at all when it was out right stated the eyes were active just feels like we're being laughed at in a malicious way.

You know, I can't help but find the thought of us being Godlike in training actions by getting those awesome 100+ Rolls almost everytime so we are considered almost on the same level as the strongest Ninjas in Konoha but when it comes to putting that training to use in actual combat we don't get one roll over 50 which ends up with us being a joke in combat funny.

It's frustrating in parts but equally hilarious. 😅

I'm curious who the old woman is.

...Shiro got a titanic bonus (+70) in the awareness roll, but he rolled below 20; Shu tricked him quite masterfully. Besides, the enemy must have help/buffs from a Sealing master to have such bonuses.

See why I argued to delay the C-rank for as long as possible? With S-ranks like Kakashi and Hidan on the field and loosing, this is quite obviously an S-rank mission.
And no, you can't argue that it was only due to our low rolls - this was essentially a cutscene, the event would have found a way to force us into this situation anyhow. You can't avoid the bomb collar in New Vegas, you can't avoid it here.

Unless Kakashi has a way to contact Minato (who could teleport to his Hiraishin tag and undo that killswitch in seconds) or we risk using the Gentle Fist in an attempt to disrupt the seal's chakra system (at which point Shu would just threaten us with the lives of our team) we're also unlikely to get rid of this.

This old woman is either an Uzumaki or a Uchiha.

Our Byakugan should tell us everything we would have wanted to know about them. How many there were, their musculature, their amount of chakra, whether they carried weapons, whether or not Shu carried some mysterious gas on him. We're at Jounin-Byakugan Use, why are we STILL not checking for these details?

Just a side-note, shouldn't we have +60 not +30? Special Eyes explicitly help dodging, after all. Wouldn't make a difference (damn those rolls) but just a note.

We did, but Shiro should have literally seen it coming. Like, I'm fine with the overall outcome, the dice just screwed us, but the problem I personally have with it is HOW you wrote the resulting screwing. The Byakugan is THE eye for noticing Shit Is Happening, and yet here we are missing all this shit happening. We don't feel like a Hyuga at all, it feels like we are just blind.

You would have passed the ambush roll if you had rolled a 30 or higher. Hell you had a fighting chance against several of the ninja whom you could have fought.

Since clearly everyone hates every decision I make no matter what I seem to do, every ticking update, I can't please shit from any of you, even when I'm following the will of the dice which you had the ability to beat and succeed if you were not fucked by terrible rolls.

I had no reason to continue this, and frankly I should have just let's this quest die, at least then I'd find more enjoyment in doing something else.

Because I have not been enjoying writing this anymore.

So I shall say this:

Quest Canceled.

I'm sorry players brought you to this point and hope this doesn't affect your love of quest in general. It was great while it lasted and I support your decision.

Sorry to hear you've made this choice. I personally have enjoyed the quest significantly, and don't have any problems with how things have went, but I suppose you don't have much choice if people are gonna be so up in arms about it.
