[X] Plan New Hopes

Crippled clan heir of a heavily traditional clan with taijutsu focus? We'd never win the political game.

Also, it would be unrealistic if metal/mechanical prosthetics from chakra-conductive metal would be able to reach anywhere near the chakra control precision needed for the Gentle Fist, so chakra strings sound like a must have.

Also, in a different quest there were discussions about how to munchkin that style, and the leading suggestion was to use it for injecting either lightning chakra or nature chakra.

I look forward to the inevitable breakup when we get jealous that Itachi gets all the fan girls.
No one appreciates the Drummer.

knowing Itachi, he would love to sick them on Shishu.

Or us.

Not with that additude!
Also, it would be unrealistic if metal/mechanical prosthetics from chakra-conductive metal would be able to reach anywhere near the chakra control precision needed for the Gentle Fist, so chakra strings sound like a must have.
You are right... you just need to create a new taijutsu technique to compensate.
Also, in a different quest there were discussions about how to munchkin that style, and the leading suggestion was to use it for injecting either lightning chakra or nature chakra.
Fire could work too.

keeping the vote open for another two hours due to weather issues.

Calling the cote: Plan New Hope wins.

Enjoy being Neji's older brother!

Arms, Legs, and Family
Arms Legs, and Family:

You lived in the main compound, with your father's family. His brother, and wife, along with your mother. And you learned that you were both special, and not.

Special to your father and mother, for finally being able to have a child, one they could see as the light in their world, no matter how dark it seemed to be.

But not by your clan… the elders, and their supporters, both from the Branch family and the main family, despised you for what you were.

A member of the Branch without a seal, a special provision begged for by your father Hizashi because of your… deformity.

Deformity was not a word that you would describe it, however. Your arms continued to grow with you… but they would not move under your own power. Something was wrong with them… and you were frustrated.

You could walk… you could run like all the other children… but you could not use the two limbs to your side. They were useless.

A shameful mark, on both your mother, your father and you.

The elders and other branch members did not see the genius that shone through you. They did not care about you, the boy could walk on his own in six months without any guidance save for your mother, when she was available, learned to talk in nine by listening to council meetings, or read in a single year by stealing letters from Uncle Hiashi's desk and read them out to him before he sent you away.

The clan did not care for cripples… Had you been born even 50 years earlier… you would have been murdered in your crib for being a liability, a weak link to the clan.

Times were different of course. So you were allowed to live, if only because witnesses from outside the clan would know of your death.

To the clan, you were nothing but a cripple.

Yet to your family… you were everything.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your mother was the first to notice your genius, only a few months after you were born, when you walked to her, to try and get some food.

She was astonished by your dexterity, and your ability to learn so quickly, and she touted you about to the Clan like you were the heir, and praised your genius.

The clan did not care, for your hands, and arms were useless. You could not learn the Gentle Fist.

And as they berated her, she only said words of kindness to reply to them.

She knew better than to stifle you. They were blinded by their own ignorance, and biases.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your father was always away from home. Your mother said it was missions, and he had to support her and you, now that she could no longer work, caring for you.

You could not really ask for much more than a yes or no.

But you learned the language through hearing and patience.

As she set you to bed one night, you said your first words.

"I love you."

Cold, monotone, even with the babyish squeals from your voice… but it the truth.

And your mother was overjoyed.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your father and uncle were twins, and them sitting next to each other made things very difficult to tell which one was which.

But you noticed. Your father's relaxed posture in his legs and uncles Hiashi's rigid posture and flat face.

As you read the note you wrote with a brush in your mouth, however, you could tell both were proud.

Your father, beaming with pride and fatherly love, while Hiashi, with a cold stare, but underneath that stoney exterior… he was warm, kind, and above all else… happy.

He was happy that you did not define yourself by your lack of arms… and valued the creativity you displayed.

"Told you he was a genius." Your father said with pride.

Hiashi nodded. "Yes… he is." for a moment, a ghost of a smile appeared.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You were a genius. But you were a child… and you would grow.

What do you do:
(Choose 3)

[]Spend Time with your mother: Your mother… she is a different woman than the others. She has the exterior of a porcelain doll… but underneath, she is a vicious… protective person. There is honesty, and emotion when there should be cold indifference… Love, when there is nothing but scorn.

[]Spend time with your Father: He is hardly home… but he always had a smile on his face, no matter where he seemed to be. "Come on Shiro… sit on my lap." He said quietly. He was warm.

[]Spend time with Uncle Hiashi: Your Uncle always hides behind a layer of indifference. He always acted neutral, calm. A pillar of support. But he held love. Love and duty, that always fought between each other. Clan, or Family.

[]The Branch Children: Despite being a cripple, the other children who did not wish to follow their families orders and ignore you… felt a strange kinship with you. It was warm to see others so… bright and innocent, and uncaring.

[]Dream: You dream of a machine standing over you. Neither human nor… spirit. No... it was not a foreign spirit or mind walker… It was you.

AN: Enjoy.

Also, you will learn all about your Byakugan range and abilities... next turn.

Plan format please.

Also, it feels like people gave up on us a might quick. Loss of limb is FAR from game over for a Ninja, and that's before considering that they could contract the Super Medics to help out. Get Tsunade or Orochimaru, either of them could do it.

No, the far more conservative people gave up on us.

Uncle Hiashi, mom and dad, and quite a few others have not.
Loss of limb is FAR from game over for a Ninja,
But you are forgetting we didn't lose our limbs... they were born crippled.

If it were possible to heal us, don't you think they would have tried to heal us?

Hint: They tried to heal us but nothing worked. Which is why many people gave up on us.
I'm pretty sure I suffer under PTSD and Vietnam flashbacks everytime you mention us finding something out next turn...I have a bad feeling about this.
Then that means I'm doing a good job.:)

That's actually better. We can learn how to deal with it from the very start. We didnt spend years learning to punch and shit, we have nothing we need to unlearn, we got a clean slate to build whatever needs to be built.

... Unless we are literally cursed by some divine entity, I kinda call bull on that. Tsunade could heal someone's soul arms being ripped off, and Orochimaru could replace our arms all together. Hell, if we were dead they could still fix us. They are absurdly good.

...

A Soul resurrecting into a newborn child, caused some crazy shit to occur. crazy shit that no one can understand.

Said soul, is a machine that fought very powerful beings beyond this world's comprehension.

And you're saying that our arms can be fixed no problem... when it's the soul that is currently incompatible.

That isn't something medical chakra bullshit can fix. It's something only you can fix.

Here is Shiro! No pics yet until he's six. and you will decide that.

Name: Shiro Hyuga

Age: 3

Rank: Clan Member

Chakra: Not Unlocked

Reserves: None

Bounty: None

Traits:

Kekkei Genkai Byakugan: The Byakugan gives a near 360º diameter field of vision, with a powerful range of vision, able to magnify up to cellular level on its targets or view great distances. Though you were born with it, you do not know how long your range is, as you are too young to use it properly. (You can see 360 around you, your current range is unknown)

Crippled (Arms): You have no usage in your arms, they are nothing more than dead weight to you. (You have no usage of your arms due to a birth defect when you were born)

Genius: One of the smartest of your generation, able to master anything you set your mind to. (+10 to Training Rolls. There is a chance you will master a skill or Jutsu on the first try)

Memories of a Machine: This Unit did indeed had a soul. It dedicated itself to mankind and fulfilled its purpose. But the confines of a body of flesh in unknown to you. You will need to learn to become human. (You have memories of a machine. Certain skills come easily to you, while others do not.)

Memories of a ???????: The Nightmare is over, but your spirit lingers on. The Darkness has been defeated. Yet your duty still remains. Protect Humanity, at all costs. When that task is done… only then will your spirit rest. (A Power Stirs within you. The Ones You Love will call it out.)

Considering that Orochimaru has a lot of experience with manipulating souls, having them move from one body to another, including inhuman souls and manipulating and adding completely artifical components, and who knows what else, everything you mentioned is in his wheel house.

What's more, there are solutions besides just healing the slabs of meat we currently have, Orochimaru loves thinking outside the box. Slap on completely new arms, see if that works. If not, well, our legs work. See if he attach a second pair of legs and have those work. If yes chop off the new feet and attach hands in their place. Just continue iterating, he'd rapidly find something thatd work.

Well, solutions will come... eventually.

After all, I hope you like the sheet.
