I'm not sure about others, but I wanted the System Scan simply because I want to know what exactly we can do, as well as not remembering that System Scan isn't the process of getting the power. But now that we've got some idea of what our power can do at this level, I don't think it's necessary anymore. And thinking about it now, I'm not sure about how valuable the ability to see AIM sphere is in-universe. It could either results in a Meh like with Uiharu's power, or it could lead to the scientist wanting us to get a higher level with our ability. But that would tip us more towards esper rather than a balanced mage/esper hybrid. Besides, there is such a thing as Sunk Cost Fallacy; just because we've chosen something doesn't mean we need to go with it all the way. I'm choosing to backpedal here and hold off making a possible commitment, I'd like to see what magic has to offer first.
Oh, and by the way, for people who thinks that my build isn't geared for becoming a magic/esper hybrid... think of it this way. My build made all our stats barring STR, PR, and BLF to be good for quite a while. What does that means? That means we'd be free to spend our time and exp towards becoming a mage/esper hybrid and not worry about the other stats for a while, as well as having a safety net as we already have some stats that is of significant value. In an RPG, it's like starting with a dirt poor STR, AGI, and MAG, but having crazily high DEF, allowing you to just cheese the enemies to grind for XPs. Except sincr this isn't an RPG, the defense here are our ability to avoid attacks and talk our way out.
