Something seems a little fishy about the timing here... but what?
You glance around your circle of friends, trying to spot the thread and figure out what it is that's bugging you.
You, a Stand user and Ripple Warrior came here with the Snow-Woman Mizore, met up with Kurumu the Succubus and the young but resourceful and goddamn vicious Witchling Yukari, and now Moka the Vampire just showed up in a panic...
...which would mean that Tsukune, the only human in your social group aside from yourself and who doesn't have any supernatural powers or fighting skills with which to defend himself, is presumably isolated from any of his usual defenders.
And the Student Protection Committee, judging by Yukari's flippant comment a moment ago, apparently has an ongoing feud with the Newspaper Club, of which Tsukune is a known member.
Taking into account the rampant bystander syndrome in Youkai Academy, as well as the fear most students and even faculty hold for the SPC...
....well, it isn't certain that he's been ambushed or abducted, but you can certainly understand Moka's concern for his well-being.
Someday, you can't help but think with a touch of annoyance, portable phones will become cheaper and more accessible, to the point of being ubiquitous in our society. When that time comes, we'll be able to call our friends or family from nearly anywhere in the world, and check on them at a moment's notice.
Of course, that time is still far in the distance and of no help right now, so you just let out a sigh. For today, however, we're stuck running around on foot and guessing.
"We can split up and look for him," you suggest.
Kurumu nods, agreeing with your plan. "Yukari and I need to change out of these maid uniforms, so while we're heading back to the girls' dorms we'll look around outside the school."
A split second later, her eyes widen and she snaps her fingers, evidently having an epiphany. Yukari, however, is the one to say it first. "Tsukune was also supposed to interview a bunch of the sports clubs, right? We can check whether they've seen him or not while we're at it too!"
For all that those two seem to antagonize each other so often, at least they're on the same page when it comes to Tsukune.
"And we'll go with Moka to search inside the school," Mizore mutters.
"All right," Moka says with... not exactly relief, but certainly more calm than she had a minute ago, "that sounds like a plan."
You can tell she'd like to split up further and have three search parties, but without Tsukune to take off her rosary seal, Moka's better off paired with someone else, and she's apparently hesitant to suggest that you and Mizore split up....
What a pain, you guess it falls to you--
"Actually," Mizore speaks up, "I'll go search the west side by myself. Moka, you and Jotaro take the east side."
That's surprising. You don't have a problem with it, but you certainly didn't expect Mizore to suggest splitting off from you.
And if you're surprised, well, Moka looks almost as if your girlfriend's grown a second head. "You... really don't mind, Mizore?"
Mizore almost looks offended by the question. Almost. "Tsukune's my friend too," she calmly explains. "And since I'll be spending the rest of my life with Jotaro, I don't mind giving him a few hours away now and then."
You roll your eyes at the way she chose to express that sentiment, even as a lingering spark of fear lights up in the back of your heart.
She's waiting on forever, she couldn't help but remind you, and you're not ready for that. Even if she's willing to hold on until she graduates... are you really going to be able to get yourself together in only a few years? With all the crap that keeps happening to your friends? Fuck, but it seems like you can barely get through one crisis before you all get saddled with another!
[]Agree to Mizore's plan, and search one half of the school with Moka while Mizore covers the other half. You're concerned about how Moka's been doing anyway, and this presents an opportunity to check up on her.
[]You know well what Mizore's capable of -- and that's why you want her to partner up with Moka. Not only because she can handle herself in a fight, but also because Moka seems to communicate more easily with Mizore than she does with you. You're more than capable of handling yourself, and arguably better off not having to worry about protecting anyone else.
[]....no, the last thing anyone needs is to get ambushed. You, Mizore, and Moka will search the school as a party of three, even if it takes longer to do so.
