I don't know if thats just an American thing, but in the UK and Australia, buggering something up, is messing something up. Go bugger someone else, means go bother someone else. Its also in Australian a standin for damn/damnit. eg - 'its gone to buggery; bugger it!'
It can be a reference to anal sex, but most of the time that is not its usage or intent.
you grunted as you focused on the road ahead as you watched another elgi approaching you with a different animal making you internally groan as the sun continued burn from above.
"Bah." The elder sighed scowling away. "At least this will let me investigate just how Elgi they are. Will be good for the upcoming summit about their fate..."
You eyed him warily. "Any declarations of the elders will be observed and judged before adoption; I will not declare open war for grudges unrelated to their target."

Found a double posting...and are there going to be Reckoners during the summit? And I can see the Reckoners opposing this, you are not stricking out a grudge, you are creating a bloodfeud.
(My first time posting on this thread despite watching for a while, I'm going to write an omake based of the gondorian artifacts you can find in shadow of war that references the dawi of Karak Lhune, do note these are not canon and just something for fun that depends on the paths we choose and what the DM says)
Custom gondorian artifact #1: gondorian made musket:
Idril dialogue: one of the gifts of the dwarves of karak Lhune was the secret of black powder and in turn the art of shot, while gondorian made rifles were inferior to those made by the dwarves, prone to exploding if not cared for properly, the gondorian musketeers bravery at minas ithil was undeniable as they fought to the last before blowing up the city's powder supply in order to prevent it from falling into the hands of the orcs.
What the gun looks like: like a traditional flintlock musket used during the early modern period and by the men of the empire but the gondorian one has a intricately carved white tree on the sides of it and the steel is blacker resembling traditional gondorian made weapons and armor.
What a gondorian musketeer looks like: like most gondorian soldiers a musketeer is clad head to toe in armor but with some extra things, a gondorian muskteer has a sling over his back to holster his gun and a series of pouch's on his sides that contain the shot and powder needed to use his weapon, as a side arm a gondorian musketeer uses a short sword or just clubs his attacker with the butt of his gun, the armor in question of a musketeer is often a little lighter than most gondorian armors in order to ensure musketeers can keep up with the army reliably or to rapidly redeploy in the events of an attack.
(I'll add one more but please enjoy and feedback is welcome)
Just an update on the next post guys and I am sorry to delay this longer than what it is but I have writer's block with the next post and I can not just get it where I want it and I am not sure when I will get it done, so just letting you guys know that this could take a bit hopefully it passes by quickly till then guys enjoy.
Confession I think I would have liked this a fair bit more if it was a story that seemingly involved more than dwarves* getting teleported over but the concept is still very cool and I am now watching the thread.
Warhams might be derived from Tolkien but by 8th /4.0 we are talking about the sort of derivation that might be seen between archeopteryx and a hummingbird so its very interesting to see that intersection.
*Might be my Lizardmen/Skaven/Woodelf bias showing though
@Mad0Slayer
I tought to try to come up with some ideas for Rivendell since i really like this quest .
Fell free to ignore this post or take and modify any ammount you want from it.
Erlond talking to Gotri about the waraits/ history/current affairs of middle earth, we could get Gotri reactions and tought.
Rivendell was if i remember correctly build by dwarf that Elrond commisioned, maybe Gotri could find traces of it.
Gotri looking at Narsil, Gotri learning old Kuzud, and or about the local dwarfen runes.
Gotri has been stabbed with a Morgul blade, the magic in Rivendell could start to interact with it making Gotri feel more rested os something, maybe he could read a book about it.
What did the lore hunt that Elrond started ammounted to?
The reason why I voted for rivendell was to get political ties with a center of power in middle earth if you have to choose between ending the quest or just give us a bonus in some diplomacy related stuff I will greatly prefer the bonus.
After that I just really want to say that I hope this quest isn't going to end.

no worries the quest won't end I enjoy this quest and it is not out of control like the others, as for the rivendell arc that was planned by me the vote only allowed me to go ahead with it as a way to start fleshing out some stuff, it's just hard to put into words at the moment.
Edited by ImperialBriton A Visit to Rivendell – Part 2
You walked atop the elgi wall as the sun glinting off the water below. While whatever magic filled the valley mellowed its glare, the sun nonetheless made you squint as you gazed around. To your guide's amusement your fingers twitched at the sound of a bird chirping, glaring at them you turned away and descended a nearby stairwell till you arrived in a garden. A couple of elgi sat there, ignoring your presence seemingly too entranced with their crafts to notice the world. Only for your resident bodyguard and 'guide', the former landing with a great clang as your Nephew tripped over an errant root. Quick as lightning, you could feel the attention of eyes with the venerability of every long beard you had met in your life, each staring in your direction. You were met with curious gazes, neither judging or comforting; which felt ancestors damn unnatural with the aura they were pumping out.
A tall dark-haired elf lord, in light satin that you only now noticed was Elrond he rose with a welcoming smile. Mae gevannin young Gotri." He nodded to a pair of pale elves, one an eldritch blonde, and another a silver elfling clothed in vivid green. "I apologise for this but you may wish to wait. Mithrandir and The White Istari have only just arrived from the meeting of their order in Gondor." He waved an arm behind you were a pair of ornately carved Dawi sized thrones awaited you and your guard. "Please, take a seat while we wait for others to join in the hospitality of my home."
Nodding you glanced at his fellow elgi one of them glancing at you briefly before turning to speak with Elrond, while the one in green glares at you before turning away from you, Frowning at them you took a seat making sure to keep them in sight the new elgi's guards watching you closely.
You noted that there were another four vacant seats for your people, something Bjorn voiced in Khazzalid his voice just low enough so as not to disturb those gathering, not that it stopped the glares been sent your way from a few elgi.
Crossing your arms you glanced at your elder who seemed perturbed by the latest development, "Leave it, Bjorn. They're likely there for a reason." You admired the ornate stonework. "Now, while we have the time why don't you explain the verdict of the elders while we wait." Your voice held a bit of an edge as your elder seemed to grin wider at your further attempts.
Bjorn glanced to the lower area for a moment, his eyes remaining fixed to a tweeting bird above the pair; but hidden within his beard his lips twitched. "Do you wish to hear the good, the bad, or the elgi." It was a challenge not to glare at the elder, the green clad Elgi seemingly obsessed with glaring a hole in your direction. The elder loosed a quiet chortle. "It's not an insult ya beardling, you're a good Thane Gotri but at times you're a right fool. Sometimes you make decisions that make us proud your our thane, and promise us a great future. Other times your making choices that put even the Garazi on high alert. The council's worried as this entire mess looks like a damned Raki cave ready to collapse."
You kept quiet. It sounded like the elder had been longing to make his mind heard for a while. "Now, trust me lad when I say I have your best interests at heart, but have you taken leave of your senses or do I need to ask a priestess of Valaya to look at your skull for a good trepanning. You've got one last chance before the votes startup, or no matter how adequate I think you are, the council is going to declare a grudging against our hard-won allies, and replace you with Gotrisson."
He lay back in his throne. "Now you have two choices. Either you act like a proper Dawi here, and behave, or you do your normal thing of acting like an Elgi and entangle us ever more into the affairs of the point ears." He turned to face you, his face set like gnarled stone. "Restrain yourself, and you'll have bought yourself another decade to placate them." You scowl, thankfully that's hidden enough by your 'adequately' lengthy beard judging from the lack of curiosity from the glaring Elgi.
"Aye."
"We'll talk more of this in our compound lad. But best assured I have some things to bring up regarding that Dwarf prince you're so dedicated to uplifting. Those Dawi the nautilus crew found are understandable, it would be a crime against the ancestors not to assist them and give them a home; but more than a few have some serious issues with your constant invitation of these ridiculously ever-growing clans of Khazad."
Raising your hand you cut him off "I've heard them and theirs a plan I just need more time." The longbeard nodded, almost seeming to fall asleep in his chair, though you knew better and let the matter lie while you stewed in his words.
Time passed relatively slowly while you ignored the increasingly ridiculous stares from the silvered haired elgi, his red-headed companion attempting to swat him several times before giving up. You were almost yourself ready to 'slumber' when finally, a cool breeze filled the hall, and Tharkun, following a tall umgi dressed in white strode into the council garden. Behind them a small throng of umgi, some in burgundy and green, or blue and brown followed a tall long haired umgi in some of the finest fabric you'd seen since saving a Cathayan caravan in Kislev.
The umgi giving your group a nod of respect as they took their seat while the umgi in white took a seat his gaze set on you while he conversed in hushed whispers with Tharkun, you made sure to signal your Nephew to leave the umgi to you should he try anything.
Gotrisson nodded his eyes going back to searching the area in wonder, something you had been unable to break him of in the last month since arriving.
A quiet rustle moved your attention to the side, where a pair of Elgi walked down from a hidden stairwell carrying a small chest; which lay at the foot of Elronds throne. Giving them a nod he dismissed the pair Elrond pausing for a moment, surveying those assembled, his eyes lingering for a moment on your kin's empty seats, before returning to you. Rising gracefully he bade for silence. "Strangers from distant lands, friends old and new, you were summoned here to discuss a rising danger within the world."
You spot the umgi in fine clothes fall back into his chair with relief. Beside him his companions followed remained stoic, though it was clear the blonde manling was just as relieved. It took a mountain of will not to attempt to pester the manling, who was sitting remarkably close to you, already you could see the sigil of a white tree, similar to that of the manlings of Rosse Lond hang from his neck. But eventually, your respect for the Elf lord, and memory of Bjorns watchful eye kept you still. You only just noticed when Elrond gave you a slight nod, of what might be appreciation, alongside a twitch of a smile. "As is I am gladdened that at least some answered my call" The elves' eyes darted to the empty seats near you, only for one of the manlings to rise.
A dark haired man in blue. "I apologise on my allies behalf Lord Elrond, Drol's party was only a day behind us when we parted at the banks of the Anduin. He refused to grace the woods of the lord and lady of those lands." He bowed in respect to the elf in white, who knelt her head in response.
Scowling, which was thankfully unnoticed, you tried not to think of what was implied, especially as you had only been invited by happenstance. While you wouldn't call your clansdawi elf friends (the very thought was still rather insulting, despite your current relations), Elrond had made clear in the past the dwarves of this world did not have the same relationship with elves as yours, something compounded even by the 'Blue Dawi' you had found in Ered Luin. That your 'cousins' failed to even arrive before a set date was more than a little annoying, but the fact they avoided elgi lands, with lordlings they were allied with made you scowl even more. Even the King of Karak Norn crossed Athel Loren from time to time to treat with Bretonnians, regardless of whether he had the elves permission or not.
It did not go past you that by this point the silver haired Elgi that had been glaring at you finally piped up in his own flowery tongue. While you were sure the wildlife liked it, to you it sounded like poorly worded insults. Not least judging from the Gondorians reaction, let alone the more schooled shock of the other Elgi. You were almost about to axe him (Bjorn rigid as stone); when Glorfindel suddenly rose up and shouted his own round of expletives at the Elfling. While you weren't sure what exactly he said, it certainly put the manling to ease, and caused Elronds prominent brow to furrow slightly less. Elrond nodded to Glorfindel before continuing "It is good to hear they have still departed Lord Girion, though with word that they are likely delayed we will delay the council for a time before discussing what is needed once they have arrived."
You grumbled under your breath at being further delayed from returning to the hold while the rest of those assembled seemed to take the solace in the fact that they could at least relax for a time, you gave Bjorn a slight nod as he continued to glare at the one elgi though he at least acknowledged you.
Glancing away from the others you put your hand on your nephew's shoulder keeping him in place as the others moved to mingle with one another. "Calm yourself, nephew this is not the time to start a grudging. It'll chafe our pride, but the clans needs you to behave." You have him a wry smile. "And judging from his behaviour next time we'll be able to get a grudge on him, and know what it was for."
Gotrisson shot a glare at you "You would let them insult us so bla…"
You squeezed making him wince "No but we are in the lands of the elgi. Fay creatures of flowery words and pride that can rival even a longbeards. You are my current heir, and you will have to learn as all thanes do that there is more than one way to settle a grudge. It's better to have one we can manage, than one that threatens our alliances as fragile as they are." You gave him one last pat on the shoulder. "Now find one of the longbeards and train like you promised your mother." You sighed dramatically. "Now I've got to speak with the blighters." You gave him a cheeky grin, as he nodded jerkily before marching off. Free of that ticking bomb you glanced at the assembled groups with dread wishing you had brought a lot more ale for what was likely going to be a long da... Wait was that elfling drinking some of Bella's black scold!

The Vote will be open for 3-8 Days (Might leave it longer with how long it took me to finally get this done)
5-hour Moratorium
Surprise! took me a bit but I finally got over the writer's block to keep going with the quests, though it seems to have become a pattern with me, still, I hope you guys enjoy and let's get this quest back on the roll. (Hopefully, I managed to get the characters right though it might be a little off for a bit till I really get back into some character's heads)
Slayer and I were pretty busy since January, so sorry for the false hope all those months back. I finally graduated university since then, and am on a break between jobs, and he's just finished intense studying; so we finally had time to collaborate again - and our writing blocks died (I blame my exams and assignments all being due around then for my end)
Hope you guys all enjoy.
EDIT:
Also the speech for the next meeting (the write in) is a free action in case your worried
EDIT.2
Also if you choose to talk to the Gondorian about trade, we won't stop trading with Rosselond, we're just going to also trade (directly) with the eastern fiefdoms of Gondor, not just Lond Galen
HURRAH!!! Good to see you days agains, kinda assumed you guys got busy and just lost in the whole thing. Glad to see that it's on all things considered, and I honestly wish you both the best of luck for Slayer finishing university, and you Briton for finding a good stable job that you enjoy. 😊
Just so you know, we will be running the hold with money soon as we will have stabilised enough that the clans Dawi will want to be paid. This will replace the increasingly complicated resource system (it will be there, but primarily as trade goods)
Also for anyone worried about the limited number of actions, you will be able to do this again following the next meeting, alongside random encounters during our stay in Rivendell. The only issue is that if you have particular thing you want to choose; there will be more people and things to talk about when the other dwarves arrive.
Whether your stay longer afterwards im not sure. I believe we should be returning to the hold, but you can test the elders patience by staying for longer and schmoozing more. Also some individuals will follow you west to at least Tharbad after the council ends depending on your relationship.
