Putting the Craft in Warcraft

Shrug, just saying. Zabuza's legendary sword was basically a weapon that was ridiculously difficult to break as well.
No it wasn't. Zabuza's sword had a regeneration feature attach to it (on top of being difficult to break but that is another matter entirely).
I personally wouldn't consider roaming in the untamed wilds a very relaxing experience, but let's hope that it does work that way. We could increase our productivity that way, and hopefully find some free materials or special loot
Rather than the untamed wilds it would be more like the beginer level areas filled with Slimes and Bunnies. Small chance of finding a non standard ingredient that's better than normal but all in all we aren't looking for stuff (until a much higher level) in so much as wandering nearby areas for a touristy like experience.

PS: Relaxation is key since work, forge or otherwise, will raise fatigue. That said a very small chance of finding some loot is still better than none at all.

Now, let's discuss the goblin's offer. I don't like the idea of working for him an entire year, especially since he is a goblin, so there's likely some hidden clause that'll screw us over or something. Maybe we could simply pay him to allow us to go with him and try to find a new home. Alternatively, we could simply stay for a while and continue our apprenticeship under the dwarf while saving money for our eventual departure.

If we want to leave, we should also consider where to go. We should also try to find out where in the timeline we are. Since we're in the wetlands I doubt that it's before cataclysm, so the Forsaken incursion into the north shouldn't have happened yet. There we are likely to find employment and make some money.

By going to the south however, we would be entering dwarven land. Making money there, or even finding employment, will be hard, since the dwarfs have very good artisans. So our somewhat shoddy craft won't be able to compete with the dwarven's. On the other hand however, we're likely to increase our skill by leaps and bounds, since there are lot of experts around.

We could also go to Menethil harbor, and work there for a while. It's likely that Leon might go there, so going with him is a possibility. As a port it likely sees a lot of trade, so there's certainly a lot of work to be done there. We could also pick a ship there and go somewhere else, although that will likely cost us some.
The Goblin's offer is likely quite good since he's sponsoring a lot of things for us. That said the problem is that we have minimal control on what we sell and who we sell it to so there's that*.

One idea is to follow Leon and find some independant work in the city he's going to. Our Mythril sword is something noteworthy (comparatively) and will likely be a form of free advertisement.

Similarly we can probably convince Leon to go out adventuring and use what we get as 'free' materials for more crafty stuff. Preferably we can make a deal with someone to lend us their forge or take a loan for us since without a forge we're rather hopeless. That said @Lost Star but would some gloves of Fire resistance(or something similar) be enough to duplicate our masters barehanded feat of molten metal manipulation

*Not to say that we don't have choices. The goblin would listine to us if for no other reason than to get the best products we can make

It's a humble life really. Your parents are long since dead. (There are some nasty critters out there) Your life is comfortable at the moment, and you get to do what you like. Which is of course making things for others.

Grumbling, you head towards the Goblin Merchant. Short and Green, with a massive nose, and a large wagon. Normally you'd call him crazy to go through the swamps alone, but he's got some fancy sort of doodad that makes it possible.
These two parts make it look like is isn't very safe around here.

As for acquiring a forge, that would be easy. Blacksmith are very coveted people, since they are crucial for maintaining and producing every tool needed, and as such usually have a high workload. I'm sure any local blacksmith would hire us, since we already have some experience they won't need to waste any time teaching us. Plus we have Leon's sword as proof of our skill.

Good point
Okay something that save draft didn't save that I should have notice was that Dwarf lands is not where we want to go for now. The reason for that is that we need money all said and done and until we have a good nest egg, competing with teh Dwarf is not a good idea.

In theory we can use a fate point to find someone who is looking for a human apprentive no matter how bad but in the end we simply have no way to compete with the dwarves at such a low rank.

That said a port/trade town/etc is a good choice especially if a lot of people who hunt monsters, fight, etc go through the area since the demand for weapons is much much higher

If you can manage to get the enchant for fire resistance, then yes you could do what your mentor could do.

Note, you don't have that yet.
So may things to fate point on, so little points T_T

:V Could we trade in the magic book for a scroll of Fire Resistance? We didn't use it yet and Fire resistance sounds very good on account of not needing to buy tools for meddling with molten metal.

On second thought that maybe isn't a good idea...........

Also something I'm curious is that this
: Glowing enchantment 16 segments: Glowing enchantment can be enhanced to flame enchantment. 20 segments: Glowing enchantment can be enhanced to frost enchantment.
are respectively, make light, fire and frost right?

Essentially it's going to be a combo, and yes they would. These are minor enchantments comparatively, but a good start for your own unique stuff.

Glowing enchantment > Fire / Frost

Something else lost is do we research the enchan's seperately. For example do we need 48 (12+16+20) segments to learn all three enchantments or just 20 segments for all three

Good point

Ehh, let's keep the book and finish it first. I'm sure we can sell it at a later point to somebody else. I think our issue is the lack of specialized tools. @Lost Star , is it possible for us to create such tools? Also, is it possible for us to improve a/our forge somehow, or can that only be solved by buying a better one?

-[X] a= Backlog work, b= Blue Mythril Sword of Stamina (25 sgmt, 12 gold)
-[X]+30 Fatigue from start to finish for a total of 45
-[X] Make our brand on it. This is something we're proud off
-[X] Tell Leon that once he makes it big pay he should at least buy us a drink/dinner/help landa beautiful girl/ pay the extra cost of the sword/ etc since the thing cost a lot more than 10 GP. We'll leave it at his discretion on how he want's to pay us back
--[X] Also tell Leon to be careful of thieves

We may want to consider making ourselves better tools as well, preferably before the goblin comes back and we will be expected to make/have more jewellery.

That's total time. So 20 segments. I'm not that mean :)

Yes and yes.

Now that your guy knows it's an issue, he can work on rectifying it. Either by making his own tools or finding a better setup.

Just Checking with you.

And now is the time for Blacksmith Gauntlet of Strength, Blue Jewelry making tool, and Forge of Flame Enhancement.

...

That is after we get a more permanent place

I now have goal for our pc to become the person to figure out how to make rune blades with out using souls like the Burning legion and the scourge does. We shall become one of the most legendary smiths ever.

I'm pretty sure we can take our tools with us. Not like our dwarf master needs them to begin with. The forge of course, is another matter altogether.

Might be worth to start making some tools right away. I doubt we'll be able to make much money in our village. Perhaps we should inform our master about our intention to leave the city. I'm curious what he has to say.

Up to a point.

That said I was more refering to the Forge of Flame enhancement since that looks like the most likely to give us the best effect possible.

Should we aim to become the person who knows from our knowledge of how to forge weapons that we can use them on the level of a master of that weapon?

You hold the bar of mithril in front of you and examine it. You don't know mithril. You've never had cause to work on it. The stuff was expensive, and rather rare. Your goblin supplier had one bar of it as almost a novelty really. That you bought the thing had actually surprised him. You wouldn't even try to use the stuff, but your mentor had been thorough with his explanation of different materials.

You make plans while you finish off your backlog. Routine stuff barely worth the attention you need to give it. But it's necessary if you want to keep eating, and gives you a bit extra money to play with. You finish that off in three days, and then sleep a long while before the next part.

This sword is going to be good. That thought rings like your hammers on the anvil. You need it to be good.

So you swallow your pride and ask your mentor to assist. The lazy dwarf is snoring like a log when you rouse him, but comes awake far more rapidly than you think possible when you tell him what you want to do.

"Ya serious lad?" He gets up, and starts to follow you to the forge. "Mithril ain't something to play with. You want ta work it, you gotta be real careful." He whistles as you show off the bar.

"Well I'll be damned." He lifts it up. "You out and bought the stuff. Didn't think you were serious about going places." A few taps on it and he nods. "Good quality too. That gobbo actually got the good stuff."

"Ya did teach me how ta check for that." You snort at him. "Now you gonna help or gab?"

"All right, all right. Let this old dwarf teach you one last time eh?" Burin flips the bar and then slaps it down on the anvil. "You probably remember this, but mitril isn't like normal metals. Iron, copper, and tin are all what dwarves call stone metals. They ain't got magic, so they just need to get heated."

"This stuff? I could toss it into the fire, kick it up high, and not a thing would happen." Your mentor nods and steps back. "You makin' a sword right?"

"Leon asked for it. I figure I could use a favor owed, so I'm doin' it right." You drawl out. You are just a bit surprised. The dwarf barely gives a damn most of the time.

"Hah. Dunno if you are goblin or dwarf with that attitude." Burin looks amused at the face you make.

"If I 'member right, you need to get some magic in the fire to make it melt." You nod towards the homely forge you have.

"Yep Mithril's a singing metal, so normal stuff won't melt it! But first, since we are makin' a sword, how big you want it? What sort o' edge?" Burin smiles just a bit. "Sorta like armor. You gotta fit it to the person. Leon's a big lag, but a bit dull. We can't make something big with just one bar o' mithril, but I wouldn't give him one of them anyway. I'd give him a good stabber. Something that can hold up to what he's likely gonna put it through."

"What I thought." You nod.

"So let's get to work then. You're doing the leading, I'll be doin' the watchin'." Burin nods at you. "Let's see if you learned somethin' right or I was wasting my time."

You snort and roll up your sleeves. A few simple sigils are placed around the forge for this very purpose. You've never done it before, but apparently it calls some sort of fire spirit to help. Weak, and barely there, but it's magic enough to get the mithril into something usable.

The time passes in a bit of blur. You push yourself hard. Your mentor pushes you more. Leon comes in to watch every now and again, and seems really entertained. You lose yourself in your work. You dream of your hammer slamming down and you barely remember anything but your work.

It takes shape slowly. Beat out into shape, heated and cooled in countless repetitions. Sharpened, and hilt set. A brand set signifying it's yours.

Then the magic has to be pushed into it. This is the best time to do it, right before the thing is completed. Just recently cooled, and almost ready. Once the sword 'sets' for lack of a better way, the standard enchantments you use can't be placed inside it. Other enchanters would place it over the 'surface', but you've been prepping this sword the entire time for this enchantment.

Burin looks just a bit proud as you finish, and adds a finishing touch just to make it officially done.

"Now that's a good weapon." He holds it out.

It's not a pretty thing. It's a weapon. A very solid one. It is your best work period. You've never done better, and you are actually really proud of it as well.

Leon's ecstatic about it. You'd say a bit to much actually since the slap on the back is enough to make you stagger.

"Trust me, this swordy is gonna get me places, and I'm gonna sleep wit' it if I have to." He smiles wider at your glare. "I owe you a big one fer this too. Why don't you come with me when I head out. We could hit up the big city and get you set under some fancy blacksmith too!"

Knowledge of how to make a weapon doesn't translate to having any skill using it.
Depends on the smith. Some can design a weapon that fits how a person fights and moves and the condition their body is in.
