Tyrygosa is apparently a very lazy dragon when she's not supposed to do anything. Or perhaps the incident effected her more than she let on. You say this because for most of the time she's been with you so far she's been asleep. As far as dragons go, she's not the largest, though she is up there, so about half your workshop is taken up a lot of the time. Fortunately she's a heavy sleeper so you are able to work without bothering her.
You do eventually prod her into the guest room as a matter of practicality. While stone is apparently perfectly comfortable to dragons, it makes you ache just a bit to see. And it makes it easier to host guests without her in it.
"I've seen it before, but I must say I like your workshop." Yrel comments as she walks in.
"Why thank you." You smile. "The dragons do some pretty good work."
"It's also very rare for them to do so." Tyrande comments as she follows Yrel. Her escort makes to follow her in, but she gives them a look and they hang just inside the entrance. "I have heard of the service that you did to gain this boon. I would say it's well deserved."
"Oh?" The Draenei turns back to look at Tyrande.
"I can tell the tale later. Though I lack the specifics of how you managed it." Tyrande turns to you, and you feel slightly embarassed.
"Used the Dragon Soul as a template and overloaded it with a copy. Most o' the work was done by the Dragon Queen, I just gave her the lever." You shrug. "Don't like ta speak of it much."
"I do not doubt that." The Night Elf glances around the workshop and raises an eyebrow. "I believe you had some work to show us?"
"Got a few things." You shrug. You have a few small trinkets that demonstrate what you can do enchanting wise, as well as various materials you can work with. "Ever use darts?"
You hold out a simple bone dart. Tyrande takes it from you gingerly and looks it over. "Enchanted I assume. I can see some work done."
"Called truestrike." You state, and nod towards a small target you have setup. "Ya could hit the center of the target with ease from there."
"I see." Tyrande gently tosses it, and you can almost see the way the enchantment guides the weapon. "Interesting."
"Also been fooling around with the local metals here. Titanium and Cobalt." You point towards the metals in question. "Ta be honest, my best work is out in use tho' so I can't show it off as much as I would like."
"I can take your word for it." Tyrande nods at you. "The dragons do not give their praise lightly."
"Thanks." You smile, and then snap your fingers. "Oh, I wanted to ask you about Mithril. Ya use it almost exclusively or somethin' like that?"
"It's a favored metal." The Night Elf states.
You hold out a bar you've attuned to the light. "So, mind tellin' me how you would get that blessed?"
"Might the light of Elune shine on you." Tyrande smiles just a bit at you as she taps the bar.
You blink as it goes a beautiful silver light. "Well, I'll be."
"She's a priestess of Elune." Yrel states wryly. "You couldn't replicate that unless you could get Elune's attention."
"Humm." You look over the changed metal. You can see the changes, but it's really just sort of like the entire thing was purified rather than anything else. You aren't certain you could replicate this actually. "Might be able ta think up a substitute."
"There have been attemptes. The Mithril Brotherhood was quite determined last I checked." Tyrande chuckles. "They have not done it yet."
You set down the bar. "Might try later I suppose."
"You are an interesting one." The Draenei states with a smile. "Well, I said I would bring you a bit of something we do with armor too. Here are a few simple pieces I got just for you."
You blink and take them. Crystal shields. They use crystals instead of metal for light alignment you can tell that immediately. And you see a pair of gems too tucked into the center. They almost shine with power to your artificial eye. You've heard that gems had some potential for things like this, but you've never seen it. It was beyond anything done by your people.
"Well, I have ta think you for this." You frown. "And now I gotta make somethin' for you."
"Oh no, there is no need." Yrel tries to waves you off. "Consider it a gift."
"If you are sure." You raise an eyebrow. "You're a light user right? Gimmie a sec." You mutter and rummage through your stores. You have a bar of light aligned truesilver around here somewhere. Ah there.
"What's this?" Yrel looks at the bar of metal you hand her.
"Listen, ya gave me a few new ideas with this." You point at the crystal sheilds. "I can tell that's not from here, and ya likely couldn't find an analog." You tap at the bar. "This however, this should be a good light channel fer you."
Yrel frowns and focuses. You see the truesilver flash. "Oh! I see."
Tyrande looks at the truesilver and then at you. She smiles. "You might have assisted us a great deal in this. The Children of the Sun and Moon thank you."
You wave it off. "Just trading information."
"Indeed."
--- Interlude. Red visit.
You're considered a very good ally of the Red Dragonflight. Therefore you are let into quite a few places where no mortal would be allowed to tred. This is one of those places. Probably one of the most guarded areas. A lush a verdant grassland where Alexstrasza lays her eggs. Even some drakes aren't allowed this close, so you are honestly a bit perplexed as to why you are actually almost manhandled into the area.
Alexstrasza meets you in humanoid form, and looks almost worried. "Hello Wayland. I'm glad you could make it."
"What's wrong?" You look around. There doesn't appear to be an issue. "This seems a bit abrupt."
The dragon queen actually winces. "I wanted to get to you before the rumors did. This is very, very unusual, so I needed to explain."
You blink. "And?"
"The item you called Alexstrasza's Rage was destroyed, but do you remember how you made it? What souls you used?" Alexstrasza looks back over her shoulder.
"Not my happiest work." You state flatly. "Is there a point ta bringing it up."
"You used a part of your soul, and then tied your power to mine." The Red Dragon Queen smiles as if the world was playing a joke on her. "I am the life-binder. I've just not bound life quite like this. It would be better to show you now."
You follow the woman through the plain and to the top of the hill. There in the field is a little girl with red hair. Your brain goes dead for a moment, and then restarts as you see other things. Tail and wings. Horns. Scales in certain areas, and claw-like feet. She looks like someone mashed a human together with a dragon. Which you brain notes just a bit hysterically that's likely what happened.
"Breath Wayland." Alexstrasza guides you to sit down.
"What in the lights name?" You have to ask.
"Technically it's my consort and mine's child. She has our materials. There is just a bit of human in her too." Alexstrasza looks away with a bit of guilt. "I wanted to be certain that she was healthy and actually going to live past her first summer before I introduced you."
"What do you mean?" You look at her.
"Her name is Serenity. She was born from a very late egg from my latest brood. She coughed and wheezed for her first month of life." The dragon queen looks at the little girl braiding flowers in the field. "She's strong now, but she's not following human or dragon developmental patterns. She attacks others sometimes like a whelp just born. At other times she's sweeter than any human child I've seen. She breaths fire, but sometimes burns her lips. And if her growth holds up, in ten years she will be a sight to behold."
You are wordless for a moment, and swallow. "She's gonna live right?"
"She will now. But I cannot let her leave here. Here I can keep her safe. Outside, even in your guarded workshop, I would worry about a thousand things. We have not seen her like before, and other dragons are wondering." Alexstrasza looks at you. "You can go down and meet her though. She's in a calm phase."
You nod and shake off the shock. You don't know technicalities, but you played a hand in this. So it's best to see what the result is.
Serenity smiles up at you as you approach, and you lose any hope of remaining detached.
--- Interlude end
Tyrygosa is in Elven form and reading something when you come back from that shocking development. She raises an eyebrow at you, and immediately sets down the book and guides you to a chair. "You look horrible. What happened?"
You can't help it. You laugh.
The blue dragon looks lost as she pats you on the back.
You recover after a time, and tell the story. Apparently she hadn't heard the news, so she's a bit shocked as well. Apparently Serenity is an entirely new breed of dragon-kin. Depending on how she grows, it's going to be a rather... Large deal among the flights. They all want ways of bolstering their numbers, and using mortals to do it would be a very useful thing.
"Fortunately, this is one thing you don't have to worry about them asking you for." Tyrygosa snorts near the end. "The life-binder's always doing a new thing. They are likely going to think it's more her deliberate doing than an accident."
"Well, that's good ta know." You mutter.
"I'll keep an eye out for you just in case though." Tyrygosa pats you on the back again. "I've finally caught up on my sleep, so I'm getting back to studying. Watching out for things while I'm doing that is easy."
"Caught up on your sleep?" You look at the dragon. "You've been sleeping all month!"
"Hey! You try staying awake for a week hunting down an idiot." Tyrygosa mutters the next part. "Seriously, did he have to go in mortal form to investigate there?"
You ignore the last part and shake your head. Well, you feel a fair bit better now. Cinder is going to be annoyed at the competition though. You chuckle a bit to yourself. He should be back in a few months too. You rather look forward to that meeting.
