Putting the Craft in Warcraft

Seems like we should clear up our back logs. And go with our meatsheild to hit the big city. We're an expert now.

Fatigue:45/100
(High Fatigue gives chances of errors in your work. At the end based on fatigue there will be a chance for an error to happen that you won't catch. Each point above 50% adds 1% chance of error. IE 100% has a 50% chance of error. If you pass out mid project, the roll is done at 50% and you have a chance of having to redo your work.)

Just copy and paste it @Lost Star since I corrected the values for you

"Trust me, this swordy is gonna get me places, and I'm gonna sleep wit' it if I have to." He smiles wider at your glare. "I owe you a big one fer this too. Why don't you come with me when I head out. We could hit up the big city and get you set under some fancy blacksmith too!"
Called it. I'm also half tempted too.

While the Goblin can sponsor a lot of equipment and customers, our personal abilities will improve incredibly quickly regardless since we're going to get some custom enchanting tools soon like gloves of strenght, iron bar of Flame Enhancement that we put in our forge to give us magical fire* which will up our Crafting rate much faster than the norm.

If we really needed to we can probably use a fate point to get a deal on a Forge.

So I'm leaning in this direction. At @Lost Star how much time do we have before Leon leaves.

Also tentative vote Presuming two weeks before Leon leaves

-[X] End fatigue is 5. (a) means backlog orders. (b) is study the Magic book for Basic Combat magic, Glowing enchant and Flame Enchant at the end of everything. (0) means do stuff we like, visit other people, have a drink with our Mentor for old times sake, pack up our stuff, etc.
-[X] Agree with Leon's proposal and pack up our stuff incrementally over the two weeks
-[X] Remember to thank our mentor.
-[X] Leave a message for the Goblin that we are moving to the '<insert name> city' that Leon is going to.

You've gotten two more mundane orders in. Each will give you .5 g and take 2 segments.
Nope not going to do it. Or do we have to do it lost? Please say we don't have to do it.

Blacksmithing now at 125. You are considered an expert at it!

-100 Gives enhancement Mithril Inlaid
-125 Steel crafting time reduced by 1
Interesting. We up like 40 points from that. Unless I'm missing my guess xp diminishes the better we are, requiring significantly better objects to get more exp.
Leon's extatic about
ecstatic
simple
Blue Sword of stamina and durability crafted
:???: where did the durability come from

*A 'old style' forge has a bellows blowing into the bottom of burning charcoal. Some designs use a stone shaped just right to stop the Charcoal from entering the bellows while some design make use of the fact that the bottom part of the burnable materials is not usually hot enough to melt certain metals. Regardless we have magic and can make an add on to a forge to increase it's heat/make it magical like say Iron bars that use Heat to make Magical Fire

@Evillevi Swear I'm losing my mind. Adjusted, and thanks.

You don't have to do the backlog at present. Though if you were to let it build up for awhile your fellow townies might get a bit annoyed at you.

The durability came from your mentor.

Thanks. Also does that mean that there's two weeks. before Leon leaves for us to wrap up a few more things

Yep. He's leaving a bit before the goblin gets back.
Thanks :)

Basically this is the build to mostly reduce our fatigue and get all the enchantments from the get go. That said we abandon our backlog and leave for greener pastures by letting our mentor finish the rest of our backlog

*Pokes head in*

So any votes?
I' suggest telling Leon to wait for the goblin, since he has a "gizmo" that allows him to travel the wetlands without fear he coul escort us.

Also, if Leon hasn't decided which city he wants to move to, suggest to go to Menethil harbor. It's the biggest town around and a major port. It most certainly has a large city guard that's sure to be looking for recruits.

We are also sure to find employment there, as I've argued in my last few posts.

Also, perhaps we should spend one day doing the whole 4 segments for the 2 mundane assignments and get us some spare change. Since we have so many 0 days we'll lose the fatigue fast.

As for the question on xp: I'm assuming this follows modern WoW mechanics, so we'll only get xp if we work on the most difficult materials, and the amount of xp being a set number based on the effort required.

Poke. He plans to leave before the 'cold snap' and that the Gizmo only prevents/minimises danger when walking through the Swamp (IE throught the wild wilderness) and not whatever way people would have used before the Goblin came IE any roads that you'll have to make to get to the village in the first place.

Also Leon wants to go to the nearest 'Big' City. Menethil Harbor can be anywhere from okay to 'hahaha no'. Worst part is that Lost will likely not accept it because our MC was raised in the boonies and doesn't know that menethil Harbor exist (except if it's the 'big City' in question in which case yes he would know and is the default location).

Also the 4 segments in one day pushes our Fatigue into 30 with three 0 segments days. Quite frankly the backlog is useless to us.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why no one else is voting?

Cause I know people are reading the thread

Thing is, that Menethil harbor IS the nearest big city. In fact, the only reason that a city the size of Menethil harbor is capable of existing in the first place in an environment like the wetlands, is because it is a major trade hub, serving as a midway station between the kingdom of Stormwind in the south, and Loarderon, Arathor (or rather Stromguarde, since that's all that's left of it) and Quel'thalas in the north.

The wetlands aren't exactly prime estate. It's mostly persist of humid marshes, not suitable to the known agriculture of the local humans. And in the east there are remnants of the orkish Dragonmaw clan. It's largely devoid of civilized (or peaceful) life, which is the reason Wayland calls the goblin crazy for traveling alone.

I also doubt that Wayland doesn't know about Menethil harbor. Additionally to it being the major local city and trade hub, it is also named after the royal family of Loarderon, so it be really hard to forget about that.

Going to Menethil harbor is our best bet. We are sure to find employment for both of us there, and we can easily travel to other cities on ship.

Also, we should ask our mentor if he can write us a recommendation letter or anything. Something like that coming from a dwarf should help a lot.

Taking your plan and modifying it:

-[X] Leave a message for the Goblin that we are moving to the '<insert name> city' that Leon is going to.
--[X] Convince Leon to move to Menethil harbor, if he wasn't already planning to move there. It's the closest big town and a major trade hub, employment and opportunities are sure to be found there.

Edit: Better yet.
@Lost Star, from what I understand is that Wayland is literally from the boonies and knows nearly nothing outside of his village while Alganon disagrees.

So the question is how right is Alganon and more to the point is it IC stuff that we can act on.

Menethil Harbor (men-a-thill) is a port town on the western shore of the Wetlands.[11, 52] It has aboat that sails to Theramore Isle in Dustwallow Marsh, on the continent of Kalimdor, and an icebreaker that goes to Valgarde in the Howling Fjord on the continent of Northrend. Within the city are many vendors; a First Aid Trainer, the Deepwater Tavern, and a Gryphon Flight Master.

This major port city represents the Alliance presence in the Wetlands. Murlocs and Dragonmaw orcs are a constant threat to its citizens, who are braver and sterner than their kin. Captain Stoutfist, the town's military leader, can be found in Menethil Keep working to repel the Dragonmaw orcs. The captain is particularly concerned because the orcs seem to be preparing for a major assault.[1]

The Wetlands is a large marsh, full of swampy pools and very little flora besides tall grasses and a scattering of trees. High mountains border the zone on every side but the west, which is open to the sea. Passes lead to Arathi Highlands in the north and Loch Modan to the southeast.

Unless this is post cataclysm. But in that case the entirety of the wetlands was flooded, and Wayland would likely already be dead.

Not good enough to convince me since there's wetlands and there's Wetlands.

At anyrate if you're right there's apparently nothing to worry about since that's our default place to go, if you're wrong than it's mostly irrelevant.

That said that is the reason why I poked Lost Star since IC knowledge is what I'm debating. not the Fact's in and of itself.

You are in Wetlands. IE the actual Wetlands area. The closest city is the 'big city' in character knowledge you don't know it's name, but I don't mind giving you it as the big harbor.

Note, the wow maps are honestly kinda bad about scale, so don't take em as gosphel, but they are what I'm basing the world map off.

Yeah the maps are at most vague outlines of the locations.

I don't think the players would have liked to walk several hours just to reach the next town :p

IC, you don't know. I'm saving it as a surprise. :D Also cause the next 'storyline' is heavily dependent on what you pick, and I don't want you to pick based on metaknowledge.

Actually...what does our character even know? Like who is king? Are they at war? Considering he knows a Goblin trader who is allowed to travel through human populated lands the Horde does not seem to a problem at the moment.

This plan sounds good, I would like some more Information about our current whereabouts however. How dangerous is traveliing around here? Any preparations we should make before that (Armor; Potions; etc)?
