With this, we can now confirm what the R-Train is.
Replicating, inorganic, hard light constructs. And since they're made out of light, they won't collapse under their own weight. Powered by Algernon Clarktech, and either clean energy or the ever-increasing goldnine. Made by Valiant Red so that nobody, no corp, would ever abuse goldnine for their own ends.
Hmmm. I was under the impression that the R-Train was more straightforward robots, and that since VR is dead, he can't be the Trainmaster since we have a mission for finding them.

It would be incredibly cool if it was true though.
Maybe, maybe not. Despite her knowledge and legacy, I'm pretty sure that Nora never met the guy personally. And even if that possibility had occurred to her, there's a real chance that she would have forgotten.
I mean I think it was said he died during the Sussuration ? Which is when she was born so she couldn't have met him.
Side note, what are the odds that Ibis's Natalie/Natasha mix-ups are, in fact, a Rebound memory problem?
I thought it might be due to his implant and general ditziness, but Rebounding is also a possibility…

So, thanks to Dr. Ibis's estimate, we have a quick shorthand. 24 hrs of Algernon= -1 to -5 years.
The thing is that Stockpile's quote on only having six hours before hitting the Rebound makes me think using your power continuously rather as a brief flash accelerates the speed at which the Rebound arrives.

He has another six hours of work before he has to rest. The Rebound, once a distant, looming threat, was now something he had to actively manage himself to avoid. But it doesn't matter.

That misunderstanding was addressed ages ago. It was pointed that Johns daughter was present and he assumed it was Natasha, the older daughter. He then tried to apologize once he found out.

The big thing is that he doesn't know Natasha is dead. Could be Rebound, but seems to have just been sufficiently oblivious to social cues to not pick up the grief/awkwardness about him wondering why they've not met. And John hasn't told him, because he finds it a relief from the grief and pity.

Cute side question: Who's idea was it between John and Sandra to give all their kids "Nat" names (Natasha, Natalie, Nathan)?
I choose to believe that the first two were accidents: they'd decided to have 2 children, and both parents had picked a boy and girl name and put them in envelopes. When their first was born, they random picked one envelope and used the name of the correct sex for the child.

Of course, that's when the other parent realized th female name they picked was nearly identical. I choose to believe they kept this secret until the second birth.

When they either decided or accidentally had a third child, the two decided to keep the accidental theme going.

Alternatively, random name generator with a sense of humour.

Speaking as someone from a family that has that kinda ( all 3 out of 5 kids names start with the same letter/sound including myself) witch ever one did probably regrets it

The kids probably got called the wrong name all the time

I wonder what bonus rewards we got from the two crits. I know the first one was spent on buffing our Recruitement Rolls, but I wonder what the second one gives us.

Doctor Silver and Valiant Gold are going to have brilliant introductions to the public at least.

In pretty sure the extra reward is the chance to gordian knot a problem of ours.

A possibility is Yara attending the event and us managing to get some trust with her by efficiently dealing with attackers. Though mainly cause thats the biggwst relevant problem I van see for this issue.

I dont really know how security crit can help clear vs name which is another problem for us.

I'm pretty sure the problem/dilemma is going to come up during the update.

Personal guess: suicide bombs. Either unwilling/unknowing ones, or Socialite Butterfly has turned up and equipped her copies with bombs.

I hope we get to capture a supervillain. Crusade did that recently (they even got two !) we can't lag behind.

Edit: I've been thinking of how we could do the Lethal Anodyne mission. Lady Leizi/Chatelet/Black Swan are too famous to sneak in there, Maddie is too young for this shit, Handyman can shapeshift and sneak in with Samsara, and unless we decide to show her face during the interview Noelle can go in there as well. Although, her ESP score isn't great and someone might notice the big watch she has and try to take it away.

"But I Don't Want To Cure Cancer. I Want To Turn People Into Dinosaurs"

Look saurons quote is a perfectly valid reason in making a characters.
I agree completely with Sauron here. The only reason I would ever Cure Cancer is so that I can offer it to the rich for tons of cash to then use in creating my Dino Army and a new race of Dino/Human Sexy Hybrids.

Also if Valiant Red is the core of the R-Train then I might have to start thinking that the Valiant Mantle is cursed.
It is bad enough that the Interlocutor is most likely carrying Nora around in his pocket rather than allowing her to rest in peace after she saved the world but to now find out that Red also is cursed to continue on after what should have been his death is just too much, especially since it would have been his own decision unlike Nora's fate.
Truly to be Valiant is to be condemned into a life of eternal Sacrifice for the sake of others, even after death.

At the end of the quest, there will be the need for one last kind of perpetual sacrifice like that...

And then Valiant Kabuto will sweep in and selflessly take that role before Ellie does.

And then we will all cry.
