@MrKermie authors legally have to tell us if we're at risk of getting our rooster kicked in by half boiled Detective,Right?!!?
Thankfully, you all picked No Crossovers near the beginning, so Shoutaro and Phillip aren't going to pop up and kick your ass.

(Which, if they had any reason to, they could. Very easily at that.)

Wait I thought that meant that Kamen rider crossout-designator would remain sealed until the summer movie not that we wouldn't wouldn't be allowed to have a sequence where the main character is sick and having a fever about Fouza- senpai begging them to go to therapy

It's not quite adjective-verb format, and it might just be me, but man I can't help but think Magical Girl Crossout Designator seems a better fit for the name.

Rolling some more. Just some small extras if you succeed, and if you fail you can probably get it back on a minor action next week. Not too high stakes.

..................................................................Mr. Kermie? Your rolls dont fill me with comfidence even the low stakes ones. At least weve gotten some good rolls lately (cyber security and that crit instakill) And I assume these rolls are our Interrogation NOT bearing any useful fruit. Im curious, If we had a more effed up world/ crossover elements, would we have been screwed over by badguys/Heros by now?

Ok, since the chapters coming out in a few hours, I'll give you some spoilers: you only fucked up on the less important one. Kuromi isn't going to be trying anything funny for a good while.

As for the crossover elements/more effed up world, I'm not really sure. Once I realized that the magi-tech/original world combo was guaranteed to win, I kinda put all my character and world building eggs into that basket, and spent like a week straight just writing up at least 3 google docs.

Jun's Apartment
Saturday Night

Kuromi seems like she's too tired for this shit. And to be honest, you almost are as well. Jun is pacing around the room, while Kuromi is sitting down in a chair.

Jun turns to Kuromi. "Alright. We aren't going to tie you or beat you, but my friend over here still wants answers. So I'm going to be completely honest with you. If you get off that chair, it's rigged with a Fire Glyph, with the Runes set for [explosion] and [targeting]. You will instantly die if you try and run, and you'd better answer our questions as well."

Jun is clearly lying out of his ass— you know that guy, and he has the magical proficiency of a hunk of metal. Of course, Kuromi doesn't know that.

Kuromi coughs. "Well, my burner phone's likely killed itself by now, I think you took my cyanide, and I doubt that any trackers that they put under my skin survived after Rei hit me so hard. May as well."

Jun steps aside to sit on a non-"explosive" chair, and you stand in front of Kuromi, hands in your pockets. "Alright, so first question. Why did you hack my computer? Is there any more surveillance on me?"

"I was ordered to do it by my boss, Shuro. No, I don't know his real name, or which one of the Pillars he is. He's a General, and I'm just a lieutenant."

You raise an eyebrow. "Really? You didn't seem like a lieutenant to me. I'd put you on par with one of the lower two Generals."

The Overboss, who remains in secrecy to this day, is the head of the Guild. You don't even know what their face looks like. Right below him are his main division managers, the Three Generals/Pillars, though only about one to two of them are usually active in killing at a time, to prevent any questions that can't be prevented by paying off an official.

Kuromi says she's a lieutenant, who are usually among the top performing assassins from each General's Division. But you fought a General, once, for about a minute. You can say with utmost certainty that without your new powers, Kuromi would have kicked your ass as fast as that woman did back then.

Kuromi shakes her head, "Thanks for the compliment, but us assassins have probably gotten stronger since you left. My powers are nice, but it's really my skill as a hacker that's really gotten me so far."

Well then. That's terrifying. Trying not to think about that too much, you continue. "Any other surveillance on me?"

"There might have been some paid bystanders that we sent out and some rigged security cameras, but with my apparent death, they'll likely be backing off for the time being. I'd say give it two months and they'll be coming back."

From his corner of the room, Jun writes something down in a tiny notebook.

"Ok then, next question. While we're talking about powers, what are the powers of the Void?"

Kuromi visibly stiffens. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

Jun chimes in. "Miss, from what Rei's told me, you literally had menacing purple eyes. What's up with that?"

Kuromi blinks, clearly having forgotten that Jun was in the room, before sighing. "Ok, what I say doesn't get out of this room. Ever. You got that?"

Both you and Jun nod.

Kuromi takes a deep breath, before muttering something to herself.

[Social Check (DC 60)]
[Total: 3+17=20. Critical Fail!]

Yeah, it looks like she's muttering about…

Um.

Rei, I just woke up for this, but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't read too deeply into that.

Yeah, Atry's probably right.

"Anyways, what I meant to say was that ever since I was little, I was always good with tech, of any kind. Seems unrelated, but stay with me. You know those little iPhones that they used to use back when internet loading times were at more than one second? I could disassemble one of those and reassemble it in less than one minute. Maybe two if I didn't have any tools."

Jun writes down an extra line in his notes, before looking up. "How old were you when you were able to do this?"

"Twelve and a half."

Both you and Jun's eyes widen, and he keeps writing.

"Anyways, when I was thirteen, my parents enrolled me in this one private school, and the rest is history. It's been about six years since then, and… you wanted to hear about the Void, right? I should start from there."

-FLASHBACK-
I believe I was about 16 at the time. Both me and some of my friends had been picked to be Lieutenants, and this mysterious guy— I think he was a general, but I couldn't see much below his mask and coat.

So he takes me and my fellow assassins into this dark room, and says that we should wait there. After a while, I can't hear either of them. Sounds like nothing. Then, I hear this terrifying voice— like, if death itself could whisper into your ear, that's what it would sound like.

So it offers me a deal. Apparently, "preconfirmed" by one of our Generals. If I give up a few things, it'll give me incredible proficiency in what I'm best at, and then Magical powers. It also said that what I give up can be anything, and that it had to be "a fair deal for both sides". And apparently, that the Guild had also already chipped in some material when it comes to the giving up part.

So, I gave up three things before coming out of that room with these strange "technopathic" powers. Twenty years of my life, though I got some surgery later from the Guild to get that down to five. With that, I also made my hair gray, permanently. I use a hat most days, it doesn't look very good on a girl like me. And the voice seemed to value this a lot— The light in my eyes.

-FLASHBACK END-

"The Void is a power that takes and takes, and in exchange it gives you pure and easy strength— you saw what it gave me back at the beach, I don't need to explain. It doesn't seem to matter what it gets, it just always needs more. When anybody's in contact with it, good becomes great. Bad becomes worse."

Well then. You're likely going to be thinking about that in your nightmares. However, something still concerns you.

"Wait, the light in your eyes? What does that mean?" You ask.

Kuromi pulls one of her eyelids down for a second, and you see just pitch black in her irises. No reflection at all. "I put it in as a joke, but whatever the thing in there was, it took it seriously. No light reflects off the top of my eyes, which apparently makes people think I look shadier and more depressed. It also makes it a bit harder for me to see. I've actually got contacts on right now."

Jun writes that down. "Would you want me to call in a doctor for that—"

"Absolutely not."

You take yet another deep breath. Dear lord, this one's going to be a handful. "Alright, one last question. Trust me, we'll stop after this." Kuromi seems doubtful, but nods.

"You mentioned two people while we were doing our crazy talk/banter. Who are Hanzo and Hina?"

Kuromi's eyes seem to widen in panic for a second, but she calms down as soon as you see it.

"I'm invoking my right to remain silent," she declares, before crossing her arms.

[Social Check (DC 70)]
[Total: 56+17=73. Success.]

"I don't think that works here." Jun snarks.

You take a deep breath, before talking slowly and calmly. "Listen, you don't have to tell me right away, but it's likely that those two people, who I know are clearly dear to you, are probably going to show up sooner than even you think. It's best we know who they are so that we don't accidentally do something that could put all of us in danger."

Kuromi stays quiet for a second, but eventually, you start to hear her speak.

"Suzuki Hanzo and Aoki Hina are my fellow lieutenants. They were two out of the five candidates that went into that dark room. The other two didn't… make it out. After we became the lieutenants of this new "Strange Powers" division, they were like my brother and sister. Hanzo's what you'd call a Kamen Rider, who controls different types of flames. Hina has powers like I do, but they're more focused on Glyphs." Kuromi whispers.

You nod, and decide not to press this subject further. "I'm glad that you've told me that."

With that, you and Jun take a moment of silence to think, before Jun finally gets off his notebook and off his seat. "Alright, get off the chair."

"Huh?"

"I lied about the chair exploding, Kuromi. You're only a few years younger than us, and it'd be a shame to see your talents wasted on a mindless killing machine like the Guild."

Kuromi leans back in the now decidedly non-explosive seat, an indecipherable look in her eyes. "Alright then, what do I need to do?"

"I need an apprentice, and a coworker. You'll be on house arrest since we can't have you going back to the Guild, but you'll work for me, Akimitsu Jun.I can give you what I think you really want— all the techy toys and supercomputers you want, and I'll get a real hacker to help me out in my transactions, like with crypto."

"I knew I recognized you from somewhere, you're the Million Dollar Dealer…!" Kuromi looks at Jun curiously. "Now I'm curious, though. What else do you have to bring to the table? Because there's not much stopping me from strangling you in your sleep."

[Jun rolls a background mental/social check…]
[That's pretty high.]

Jun's eyes glint, and he leans in. He's got the "I'm about to make you an offer you can't refuse" look. "I'll play any video game you want as player two, since you clearly seem interested in those sorts of things. I found some merch in your little knapsack. And, I'll take you out for all the food you want. No more Assassin's Guild MREs. You can get sushi and udon and soba and all those wonderful things. I'll even learn to cook, if you want."

The silver haired girl smiles, before chuckling a bit. "Alright, now you're speaking my language."

Planning Time!
Week 3: February 19-25
Current Amount Of Capital: 2
Current Objective: Find Kaneko Akemi.

Major Actions
You currently have THREE of these.

(QM Note: you may take two more Minor Actions and one more Major, but it's worth noting that Burnout will have its consequences week 4.)
(Burnout will probably not hurt you that much during this week or next.)

-[ ] Search for Akemi. (Mental DC 80, 60, N/A)
-FOR FUCK'S SAKE JUST FIND HER REI

-[ ] Spend some time with Kuromi. (DC ???, Social)
-May unlock your first Companion, who you can fight alongside! (This is very good.)
-You might also get to be on first name basis with her, which is also good, since I keep on confusing her with the Sanrio character.
-You may or may not get some more info on the Guild (though it will probably slowly start to become out of date.)

-[ ] Try to look for other local heroes. (DC ???, Mental)
-Does not attempt to look for either Secret Society— that is pretty much impossible at the moment.
-At the moment, success is not likely in the slightest due to
Monstrous Composition, but you might be able to get the DC down.
-If you roll high enough, there's a small chance you might get to meet the local hero of Akihabara…

-[ ] Investigate a rumor you heard. (DC 60/80/100, Social)
-Recently, thanks to your surveillance of the neighborhoods around Akihabara, you've heard that a new masked hero has appeared. And he isn't you.
-This might be a good chance to get a look into the so-called "hero culture."
-Will disappear after two weeks.

-[ ] Look more into the Void Glyph with Kira's help. (DC 32, Magical.)
-Kira's already said that she was interested in doing this.
-Lowers the DC of (Try and Harness the Void Glyph.)
-May unlock new Magic options with Kira.

-[ ] Look more into Umbra. (Medium-High DC, Mental.)
-While you haven't been pursued by them yet, you know that Mr. Skull Face likely still remembers your face.
-It's better that you get a drop on them first.
-May trigger a small combat encounter on failure.

-[ ] Take a break.
-Take a breather for once in your life, Rei.
-Gain either one extra major action for the next two weeks or gain two extra minor actions next week.
-Heals your injuries (10/15)->(15/15).

Minor Actions
You currently have THREE of these.

-[ ] Fight and interrogate a group of Skull Faces.
-Will trigger a small combat encounter.
-On success, you might get some more info about your new pursuer…
-You are surprisingly close to leveling up.

-[ ] Go to your local dojo.
-You've already paid the subscription fee for this month.
-Will boost Physical for this week only.
-You may also gain access to new moves and EXP.
-(QM Note: After I realized your perk and beating Kuromi early gave you way too much EXP, I reworked both grinding options.

-[ ] Train with Kuromi. (DC 65)
-Kuromi has offered to quickly get you back up to speed with some Assassin's Guild techniques— some more defensive ones.
-Requires that you have taken the
spend some time with Kuromi action to this week.

-[ ] Take a breather.
-Heals your injuries (10/15)->(15/15).
-[ ] Take a break at the library. Learn something.
-Increases EXP, dice type for increase depending on how high a Mental roll goes.
-May boost either Mental or Social temporarily for this week.
-May find new leads.

-[ ] Attempt to research the history of Kamen Riders and Magical Girls. They're not just some urban legend. (DC 50/70)
-Might make certain checks a bit easier.

-[ ] Recall Memory (DC ???)
-You'll discover the DC(s) for this after first doing this action.
-May give you some more insight into Rei's past, and produces a Memory for a spell.

-[ ] Recall Memory (Special)
-Uses up your Recollection Enhancer to get you multiple choices for a memory.
-Requires no DC.
-Even the QM has no fucking clue what this'll get you.
-[ ] Work the cashier at Animate. (Low DC)
-Gives 2-3 Capital.
-Not much going on this week. Maybe week 5 will have something interesting.

-[ ] Try to socialize with Aoi, make sure the bar's ok. (DC 75)
-Might grant access to a new part-time job (which yes, you can balance with the Animate thing.)
-Even if the check fails, you'll still get to socialize with Aoi.

-[ ] Spend some time with ___
Mai
-Might get a promotion! Yay for found family nepotism(?)
Arata
-Might gain access to the Making Gunpla sidequest!
-This is (sub)plot relevant, I swear!
Kira
-Might gain more insight into how Glyphs work!
Nakayama
-Might get to know some other interesting inventors!
Kuromi (already covered above)
Aoi (already covered above)
-[ ] Explore Tokyo
-Why? Why not?
-You may meet some interesting people.
-[ ] Explore Kyoto
-Kira has a portal, so you may as well use it.
-You may meet some interesting people.
-[ ] Try to channel the powers of the Void Glyph. (DC 85)
-???
-[ ] Talk with the strange spirits you've just met.
-Get some insight into the lives and ideas of Atry and Gargoyle.
-Also gains a small ability unlock for a duel spirit.
-Not recommended at the moment, since you already did this last week on your only spirit.

-[ ] Try to do some research on that mysterious deck. (DC ???)
-Somewhat likely to get you nothing at the moment, but there is a chance.
-Maybe once
[REDACTED] comes in, you might have a better idea of what's going on.
-[ ] Ask the Mad Scientist for something new to defend yourself with.
-Force refreshes Nakayama's shop, with a bonus chance of getting something rarer or discounted.
-Three items that can be used in daily life or in combat will pop up for purchase, and may remain there if not chosen. (prices may fluctuate)
-You will not know how much something will cost until you see it.

-[ ] "Safely" "Prototype" something with Nakayama.
-This one might hurt.
-Advances your progress towards more Tech features, and Nakayama working with you on Rider stuff.
-[ ] Surf the web. (DC 65/80/100)
-Now that you're sure that you won't get jumped (digitally) try and look around! Search for something interesting!
-Might find new Major Actions!

Free Actions
These actions are extremely easy to do— Rei can finish them on her way home from her job.
You may take as many of these as you please.

(QM Note: DO NOT include what you're buying in the plan itself this time, if you are buying anything. Just look at the offerings and go to that place; you can decide what you want once we get to that update.)

-[ ] Get a doctor. (0.5)
-Heals your injuries (10/15)->(15/15).
-Costs 1/2 of a Capital unit.

-[ ] Think of a name for yourself.
-Will make Rei officially decide on the name she wants to be known as while she's a Kamen Rider, (Roze) and also the name of her equipment.
-Doesn't need to be taken right away, but taking this either this week or the week after finding Akemi is probably a good idea.

-[ ] Get a motorcycle. (1)
-Costs one Capital.
-Trust me, this is super super super important.
-[ ] Craft A Spell
-Only the first usage of this action is free.
-This action may be used multiple times in a turn, but the second one and up costs one minor action.
-You'll be able to decide what you want once we get into the week proper.

-[ ] Buy something from Nakayama.
Nakayama's Offerings:
(Modded) Nintendo Quasar (2 Cost)
Grade 1
Condition: Brand New
Hey, it's the newest Nintendo! I've got this cool one that can run some modded and pirated games, but the Pinkertons might teleport over to my shop if I keep it on me for too long. Mind if you take it off my hands.
-Allows for additional interactions with Kuromi.
-If enemies inflict mental ailments on you such as Stress, playing some video games might help out your recovery.

Repair Kit (3 Cost)
Grade 2
Condition: Brand New
Consumable
You haven't bought that many pieces of tech, but getting into self-repair saves a lot of money.
-Can only be used two times.
-Increases another piece of tech's durability.

Auto Shocking Taser (4 Cost)
Grade 3
Condition: Good (d80)
…It's exactly what it sounds like. Please take it off my hands.
-Once during combat, (maybe twice if up against a [Nemesis] enemy,) when hit, make that enemy take a physical saving throw.
-The taser will deal 3d10 Electric Damage, or half as much on a success.
-Yes, it's just Hellish Rebuke from D&D. What's Hasbro gonna do, sue me?

-[ ] Buy something from Kira.
Currently on sale:
Water Glyph x2 (3 Capital, 50% off!)
Air Glyph x1 (2 Capital)
Advance more progress in Magic with Kira to get more options here.

-[ ] Buy something from Jun.
Black Market Dealings:
Underworld Heat: (10/100)
Items:

Jun says that most of the things he thought he get find for you would cost too much for him to buy for you. Sorry!
begone fucker (3)
-
Wind Spell. Don't ask who named it, even Jun doesn't know.
-During a fight with mooks involved, knocks back some mooks into next Wednesday, making it so that they have to wait for one-three Scenes before they get back. If the battle ends before those mooks get back, they just completely lose you and go home.
-During a fight, against 1-3 people, just does really good AoE damage.
-Will require making some money (Animate) in order to buy.

Pay for Intel about…
Akemi
Umbra (3)
Guild (1)
??? (Write In, please @QM)

-Thanks to some sort of black magic (Jun playing co-op video games with her), Kuromi is willing to help with this, which discounts the price on figuring out what the Guild is doing.
-[ ] Anything else? (Write in, please @QM)

Atry's Advice: Let's go find your sister. Make sure you're ready, because I have a feeling there's a fight coming up.

[ ] Cool Plan Name
-[ ] Major Action
-[ ] Major Action
-[ ] Major Action (you may add one more of these)
-[ ] Minor Action
-[ ] Minor Action
-[ ] Minor Action (you may add up to two more of these)
-[ ] Free Actions (you may take as many as you want.)

Author's Note:
Thank god this chapter's done. I just got the last chapter of my other quest out yesterday, so that means I'm pretty much speedrunning.

Anyways, I've got nothing else to say, except that the whole "assassin found family" thing I told my friends in our Discord as a joke might be more real than I thought. I was going to have Kuromi and her buddies be the recurring minibosses! You were absolutely not supposed to completely kick her ass and then interrogate her so fast.

Happy voting, heroes!

Ok so we find Akemi for certain. I also say we heal up, decide on our name, and get us our mandatory Kamen Rider Bike, at minimum.

Also for clarity @MrKermie does the third Major Action count towards burnout, or not? It's a bit unclear, imo.

Thanks for clarifying!

So this is the plan of stuff I think we should do:
[X] Plan Akemi, Socializing, and a Sweet New Ride!
-[X] Search for Akemi. (Mental DC 80, 60, N/A)
-[X] Spend some time with Kuromi. (DC ???, Social)
-[X] Take a break.
-[X] Train with Kuromi. (DC 65)
-[X] Attempt to research the history of Kamen Riders and Magical Girls. They're not just some urban legend. (DC 50/70)
-[X] Spend some time with Arata
-[X] Think of a name for yourself.
-[X] Get a motorcycle

Add plan to the name so that people don't have to copy the whole thing and so it combines together in the vote tally.

So it would be:
[ ] Plan Akemi, Socializing, and a Sweet New Ride!

Wait is this 3 or 4 mayor actions?
Edit: NVM finally got it. Got confused with the minor break action. Hmm i would like to investigate the glyph again with the mage but i think that can wait. Healing is good and... well i think these action are our best bang for our buck

We could have been based off the kaijus or the Danger! monsters instead but based off some Gurren login but Yuri (I need to be fair this does have both Kamen Rider and magical girls which are both pretty gay)
-[X] Think of a name for yourself. Kamen Rider Dark synchron
Edit I think I've been proven wrong this is probably a good thing
Iris-Iven-Ibis threw 1 100-faced dice. Reason: we're still not going to find Total: 70
70 70
