[X] Operation Brain Death. You've gotta shut this operation down, nip this in the bud before it grows too big. It's risky. You're not gonna leave unscathed – but that's honestly part of the job. You've gotten their measures, somewhat – or at least, now that you've figured out how they are what they are now, large part of the mystic has been stripped away. You could take care of these fools. Your main concern would be Blake, and you could only hope that there is a limit to how these Dreamer Brain works. And the Rat Woman from before. Her too. Oh, and your client – you're not gonna let him eat the brain, duh. This… this might be tougher than your earlier thought. [Combat. Very Hard. 27 to Go. 1 Blake, 1 White-Dressed Rat, 5 "Elite" Rats, and 20 Standard Rats.]

[X] Let Dreaming Men Dream. You could just leave. Finish the job. Make sure Brian pays you first, of course – that'd be easy. It's not gonna be great. It'll weigh on you, not doing anything when a Syndicate is about to grow right in your face, but – you don't have to be the one to do this. You could report it to the others in the Office, and they'll report it to the Hana Association, and they can take care of it from there. It's what they're here for. [Finish the Job. Get Paid. New Syndicate: "The Mall" is Born.]

I'd like to live to see another day.
It's the fucking City. It's made of layers on layers of atrocities. Giving up your life to clean one spot won't do jack.

Hmm, the odds are unpleasant on the surface, but it looks like there's only Blake in the room right now, the rest of the enemies are scattered throughout the building. And while he's not likely to be a pushover, he's probably not above the level of the Razier siblings, so Lily and Kai might be able to kill him before he can get reinforcements in (especially since Kai's blade has that freezing effect) and then the rest will likely take Sanity damage from seeing their leader dead. Not easy, but not as bad as the numbers sound like since that is all the Rats in the building, not in the room.

Wanna be a color? You gotta be built different. And this? This is the foundations. Go hard or die hard.

[X] Operation Brain Death.

Fuck this is gonna bad straight up Bad End material but I can't justify anything else. This is some Fucked Up Shit here even by City standards, and it's escalating at increasing speed.

At least we got lifedrain X_X

[X] Operation Brain Death.

Worst case scenario, at least we can be sure our own brains will remain uneaten lest they infect the one who consumes them with our stupidity. :V

...also this really doesn't sound like a situation where "come back with more force to burn it out" will be an option. Not least because if it were there wouldn't be any choices that just allow us to leave.

[X] Operation Brain Death.

This is possibly a mistake but well...

This seems like this is the only chance to stop this from being an issue long term and we can heal off the mooks if we blitz the boss early enough.

Hmm, if we roll really well for the encounter, maybe Nico the Proselyte will show up and start killing the enemies because his Prescript told him to kill all the followers of the Rat King. That would be rather amusing, although we probably won't be that lucky.

Who knows, maybe a color will shoot in their sleep and kill every single rat in this building with a single bullet from three miles away. Anything could happen!

Okay, I was not expecting that. This is a problem.

I do not know what to do here.

The third option is like we did not take this job but with info. An Urban Myth pay with no fighting is a good thing but this is going to escalate into a huge issue quickly

And we did nothing. The guilt is going to hanging over our heads for a while, is it worth it?

The second is like the first but with the potential to slow the nascent syndicate heavily, placating our conscious somewhat for at least trying. Could backfire on us though.

The first is dangerous, very dangerous. We are outnumbered and have someone who could match us, the lack of stats could mean he exceeds us too. Just because we are Red does not make us reckless.

This could go so badly for us.

[X] Operation Brain Death.

We are uninjured, calm, and fed. We have strong, life-leeching armor. We have high endurance and buffed melee skills. We can take a pill.

We have Kai.

Let's bloody do this.

Having our steps dogged by the Index would be both a blessing and a curse. It would be hilarious.

You kid but I can see the Head making a law about sleep shooting.

The issue is that they're spinning up at an exponential speed and hit full our Syndicate level by the end of the week, at which point they're no longer something that can be popped without a significant investment.

If they continue to start spinning up, that's potentially Urban Nightmare in another month or two.

As things stand, it looks like they're 'Just' Urban Legend right now, which is a stretch for us but still technically doable, if Lily can grab enough of the aggro and the mooks aren't as tough as the ones we've fought so far. We got some good upgrades between our meds and our lifesteal. But it is absolutely an uphill battle.

But leaving it alone means it'll be even worse later. This is pretty much the final saving throw I think before this spools up to being a Big Problem.

26 vs 2? Who do you think you are? The Red Mist?

No, I am fully aware that this is a stupid, stupid fucking plan.

Letting what looks like a rapidly hegemonizing threat manifest on our back porch is even worse though.

I'm basically hoping that the rank and file are not, in fact, on the same level as that high end Rat gang from a few weeks back. The only thing that makes this even remotely doable is Lily's sheer aggro potential and her lifesteal. Both of those combined with her honestly frustratingly high Armor rating are the only things that make this a plausible strategy.

But I'm not gonna lie, this is a shitty fucking situation and all of the options suck, bad.

[X] Operation Brain Death.

Aight, we got,
An angry Tsundere with a crowbar alongside a Kuudere with an ice sword

VS

Twenty-Seven poor people, seven of which are powered by City shenanigans.

I see no issues with this plan

Also, it needs to be said again, we're going fighting twenty six people all at once. After we kill the first two, they'll likely come at us in sevens, and we can hold chokepoints and such to avoid getting completely overrun.

True, but that's that and this is this.

[X] Operation Brain Death.

Legends aren't born from cowardice or sensible retreat, they're born from action!

3.75 Enemy Information
Alright, in hindsight, I should've included this right away, but I was tired, and stuff. So, if you decide to go wth Operation Brain Death, this will be what you're going to be roughly expecting:

Blake, King of Rats. 35/35 Health. ???/30 Sanity. +2 Damage, +3 Armor, +2 Mental Resist. Special Perk: Baya, Beast of Land: May Sacrifice Damage for Armor. ???. ??? [LOCKED]. Tactics: ???. Unaffected by Sanity Damage from Ally Death.

Makina, Haunted Bride. 20/20 Health. 25/25 Sanity. +2 Damage, +1 Armor, +1 Mental Resist. Special Perk: Pearl, Drowned Jewel: Injuries do not affect Evasion. Injuries instead Boost Evasion. Tactics: ???. Unaffected by Sanity Damage from Ally Death.

5x "Elite" Rats -- 20/20 Health. 20/20 Sanity. +1 Damage, +1 Armor, +0 Mental Resist. No Special Perk. Tactics: First Man to Fall, or Last One to Go.

20x Rats -- 12x has 10/10 Health and 8x has 15/15 Health. 10/10 Sanity. +1 Damage. +0 Armor. +0 Mental Resist. No Special Perk. Tactics: Swarm Tactics.
