@Randomnerd, thank you for the idea.

The Regulars were coming. And you would be waiting for them.

"Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!"

Ah, time for the baptism of blood and fire for the Continental Army. Maybe we can save Dr. Warren from his grisly, and untimely fate.

Or we get wounded and die, but I hope not.
And then the Redcoats had attempted to land on the Charlestown Peninsula.

Results: Jonathan has talked with the reporters from the Pennsylvania Gazette and regaled them with his journey to Boston. The interview, however, will quickly be overshadowed by future events...
Oh boy, it seems that the young journalists from Philidelphia are going to have a wonderful, and terrifying time trying to get the stories that will spread like wildfire across the American Continent.
So the Redcoats thought they could launch a surprise attack, huh? Well... two can play at that game.

(To be continued in: Boarding Action)
Ho boy! That is going to be something.
It was a ragged bunch of Massechucetes militia from Cambridge, boys and men who were less inclined to army life than many others you had tried to foster since the beginning of this long siege. You could see that many of them did not have tents or proper equipment for outdoorsmen-ship. Many just went home under the cover of the night to sleep in their own beds.

This group was insane.
We have a fine group of Americans to lead into battle! Truly the best. After all, who would be insane enough to go home in their own beds when the enemy is occupying their hometown, then escape in the middle of the dark of the morning to get back to work for laying siege to the same town?

This group will be legends or dead in the coming months, I can feel it.
Results: Halbert has performed adequately in his first skirmish. It's not a breathtaking display of military genius, but it has been carried out competently, and that is all that was needed.

+1 Relations with all Military leaders.
Competence is all we need.

We don't need brilliance, we don't need amazing skills.

Just competence, and the rest will come with time.

Hope we didn't come off with a poor first impression to our friendly journalists from Philly.

After all, they could help us gain some good clout with Ben Franklin since they are under his care.

(Sidenote have been watching the series on YouTube and its pretty fun).

You mean Colonel Prescott. Artemas was nowhere near the actual front of battle.

The nonsense these children get into will be mind-boggling, not to mention their superpowers of teleporting to important historical events. Every time they run into MC, he's gonna be pretty confused as to how the hell they manage to appear at the right moment every time.

These are not mutually exclusive, unfortunately.

I meant that as a joke, considering the fact that the entire quote is a legend and fantasy that only came to prominence after the battle :V

Some say that Ward said it, others say it was Prescott, and I remember I think Assassin Creed 3 said that Putman even quoted it.

"Journalistic senses sir. We must write for the people of America."
-James Heller.

"More Like God Himself is trying to get you killed yet you still somehow live to tell the tale worth writing."
-Johnathan Halbert.

I wonder how the boarding action will happen. That we can literally steal one of their ships just before the attack on bunker hill.
"You have got to be the worst pirate I have ever heard of." Unnamed Royal Navy officer.

"But you have heard of me." Major Halbert.
---------------------------------------------
To be clear, this happened after the Battle of Bunker Hill
What did we steal?

The Cerberus? The same ship that ferried the triumverate of generals sent to take over America? The same one that almost got torpeadoed by the turtle and company later next year.

The Somerset? Which ran aground during the bungling of Provincetown Massachusetts in 1778 (which was more to blame for the storm, but details)

Another Royal Navy ship?
They're US Postal workers…it all makes sense now.

I mean they live with the postmaster general
I mean, they didn't deliver the mail except that one episode though.

Oh I can imagine one of the admirals would be pulling their hair out at how a group of rebels were able to steal a ship. As that would be a disaster especially after bunker hill and giving the American Revolutionaries a ship of their own to transport their men, or do some scouting/raiding as I don't think one ship would be up to par with the British fleet yet.

Edit: You'll be able to find it in the order of Battle for the Siege of Boston.
Well lets go down the list
HMS Boyne (70 guns): Not a chance, a good-rated ship with that much crew and gun, that would be suicide without assistance from a mad lad captain.
HMS Somerset (68 guns) While it would be funny to just steal the ship that has the Triumvirate's baggage and supplies on it, no.
HMS Asia (64 guns) Again, a third rate of that size with a detachment of marines would slaughter us, unless of course, all those marines are dead in the landing.
HMS Diana (6 guns) The most likely one, because of her size, what happened to her crew during that battle and of course, her ultimate fate being run aground.

To be a bit more engaged in the conversation though, maybe if we get good rolls we could end up managing to properly contest the landing? As I understand the British were able to land and form up unopposed before approaching the hill in OTL.

So fighting retreat or quick strike to disorganize them to slow them down?

Cause we meet to find some way to get enough time for additional supplies up to the hill so Prescott's men can keep firing.

Yeah, theoretically causing enough chaos could delay things by a decent margin. A read through on the wiki page seems to indicate that the Colonials had major problems organizing in the rear, so extra time for our officers to Get Their Shit Togethercould be very valuable.

Yeah, they certainly weren't the stellar dice of last turn, but the ones that did roll low had the decency to fall on subjects that maybe didn't have as bad a fail state. The Recon one might come back to bite us maybe... but otherwise it was a well above average turn.

Honestly, I'm okay with above average rolls. Sure having explosive dice rolls is fantastic, but these kind of turns I'm fine with.

As long as the lower rolls can still give out okay bonuses.

Edit: So I looked up the bonuses, shouldn't we have gotten a +20 boost for the Martial Rolls for Turn 2?
