The next part will be posted tomorrow. You will be talking to the prime minister and the council via com. and will get a vote what to do.
Ah, well that helps things.

Personally I feel it should wait a turn, getting real military ship and shipyard would help with negotiation with either polity. Also due to wanting to expand industry before we got turned into a pure resource extraction world.
It isn't about helping with negotiation (though being better able to contribute to defense definitely will) but we want to increase our defenses now, and seriously we have so much money saved up it is absurd. I didn't run the numbers but I don't think my plan even runs a deficit, though given what Brogatar said I will swap out the diplomacy options so it might.

EDIT: I'm sorry did you say deposits, as in plural?
ou've also discovered one of the reasons why the planet is like it is these motherlode deposits are effecting the planet.

...are we the LOLI?

also forget all industry plans, work on infrastructures, we are about to get a lot of immigrant workers, security will be handled by the government. main expot will be eezo. we can supply repair and fuel for fleet and entertainment for people on leave.

I do not wish for us to become a mere banana republic. Industry and security are vital part of budding government.

Also infrastructure can be expanded easier once the cave is cleared and new city built. Tho action squeeze is a concern.

Amount of money we saved couldn't even cover a full turn of current expense, not exactly comforting. But I am using around 60%ish of that for upgraded ships, so I can't really complaint on that front. :V

[x] Plan oh god oh god oh god

[x]Keep and repair them -2500 credits
-[x] Upgrade to full military standards -5000 credits
-[x] System Defences: You have them now, but if anything, the recent attack proves you can never have enough of them. -1200 credits
-[x] Eezo 3. Final Clean up: With the cavern finishing construction the final clean up and reinforcement of the cavern needs to go on. The amount of devastation it managed in an unrefined state was immense, you don't want a repeat of that. . -2000 credits Will reduce maintenance costs back down to a lower level.
-[x] Military Expansion: You've lost a lot of soldiers over the years. To wildlife, pirates and other threats. You need to start recruiting new ones for defence. Happy is the city that in times of peace thinks of war. -1000 credits
-[x] Establish Police: Well you certainly made the right call with this one, but you are going to need to get it even beefier if you want to keep unwanted eyes away. -1200 credits.
-[x] Building Medium: Now you can service pretty much any ship barring the largest monsters, but now you need to go bigger. You need to be able to actually build components for the medium range vessels. Well, easier said than done considering the number of components that still need to be manufactured elsewhere, but it's doable. -3500 credits.
total cost: 16,400
net income: 9310
reserves: 11,930
net reserves at the start of next turn: 4,840

shut up! I'm not panicking! your panicking! this is no time to panic! but all joking aside, holy shit did we just get dropped in the deep end. this plan is entirely designed to deal with the inbound shitstorm. I will admit, it more than half our reserve, but suddenly needing to fort up right the fuck now is exactly the reason we have one.

Well, I was wrong, instead of bad things happening to others, terribly good things happened to us

I think the Turians are now happy with being so cordial with us and giving us so much stuff

I made a few changes to my vote, I found using more of our income ok now

I'm not saying forget industry and security forever, just RIGHT NOW. set ourselves up to profit the most from the incoming event then use all the gains to build up everything else

Oh wow, I have no idea what I was reading. I think I remember at one point that we had a lot saved up but I guess not. Still I think now is the time to spend on defense.

Here you go FIFY

today I leanred I am bad at assembling plans. but after fixing 2 errors, and reformating it, I think Plan oh god oh god oh god is good to go. the one thing I'm not super tied to is Eezo 3. Final Clean up, but its reducing our upkeep by 800 a turn so pays for itself pretty fast.

Interesting. Hitting the motherlode is like winning the lottery for a colony or country and like winning the lottery, this is an opportunity to do even greater things or end up ruined. I would to avoid the resource curse and Dutch disease problem if possible. We need to develop our export industry and protect our newfound motherlode from threats while continuing to develop a diverse economy to avoid Dutch disease. I also do not want to break the deal to build up our space capacity until dreadnought size.

Dutch disease?

I was rereading the beginning and I saw that we promised the SA military a base here. It's like we knew this was going to happen:rofl:

The discovery of a natural resource in a country can a massive boom in the natural resource extraction sector at the expense of other industries such as manufacturing or agriculture. The booming resource sector sucks labor and production from the other sectors which can leave the other sectors to decline and shrink. In bad cases, the country becomes fully dependent on the resource extraction sector which leaves the country vulnerable to the price fluctuations that natural resource market often experiences. If you make your country or colony dependent on that huge oil or eezo deposit and then another discovers another huge deposit elsewhere which depresses the price of the resource, that is bad news for you. Named after events in the Dutch economy after the discovery of a large gas field.

The best thing for us is either to resist the desire to spend the increased income all at once and spend a consistent amount of money per turn while storing the rest for a bad rainy day or to spend a solid clunk of the income on non-eezo related industries to avoid becoming an eezo banana republic and ensure we have a diverse economy and colony. Knowing SV cannot resist spending money on shinies, I prefer the second option

Well, we just hit the jackpot.
One question that has come up is of the three captured cruisers that were taken in battle. With them being somewhat outdated and damaged, control of them has been defaulted to Perkwunos.
[] Build ships: Cruisers (CA and CL) 4500/3500 (CA/CL) credits. Destroyers (DD) 2500 credits. Frigates (FF) 1500 credits. Corvettes (FS) 750 credits (only FF and FS may be built this turn).

This... this was the discovery of a millennium, maybe more.
This deposit will barely need any refining, it's 99% pure."
Conservative estimates put it at the size of half a mass relay, mid-line estimates are that it's the size of a relay.

[X] Plan Acquire currency

One of my reason for trying to get Volus migrants and connections is for their connections and experiences in running the bulk of galactic economy. They are the major bankers and traders, who will be a great source of economics spinners that can convince the SA, the Citadel, and the Omega that blowing us up or flooding the Eezo market is advanced form of stupid. Plus Volus has a nation that appreciates being held as vassal state. They also have the resources help us live longer & them to gain political sway in the galactic stage.

I apologize I'm trying to tell who was talking .

The best way to do that is the way writers have been doing for decades: new lines. Seriously, read a book or a good fanfic if you need to learn how to write. The condensed text is something that a 12 year old would do.
