Holy Void, she has already started with the pen and paper spreadsheets. We've got a min-max'er over here, everyone run for your lives!
I could be wrong but I think Wardes was planned to be sent with them from the start as an escort.
Guiche was the one who butted in, and at the time Agnes was considering executing him for espionage. him being the third and mostly useless
(and therefore completely disposable) son meant she could probably get away with it. it was volunteer and hope they say yes or his head on the chopping block.
She'd just spend the time practicing magic. After all, she had levels to rise to.
So this version of the gamer doesn't allow the read book, gain skill, destroy book mechanic? OR is this something that has to be voluntarily activated? And well, it wasn't like she hadn't forgotten to eat before, buried in books and essays.
IIRC, Wardes was the muscle while Louise was the trusted one.Wardes by himself could solo the mission fairly easily if he didn't have to babysit Louise and the others.

In the gamer cannon some books don't work, notably textbooks and theory books. So this version of the gamer doesn't allow the read book, gain skill, destroy book mechanic? OR is this something that has to be voluntarily activated?

Well, that sounds somewhat stupid. What is the reasoning behind that?
that theory tells you how something works while practical manuals tell you how to do something.

And it is apparently impossible for someone to piece together how to do something from theory...
There is nothing stopping him from developing it from theory but theory by itself isn't a skill for his powers to give him. If he actually read the book he could probably develop many skills based off the knowledge. And it is apparently impossible for someone to piece together how to do something from theory...
Thanks for telling me @Xyzarach!
And thus Louise discovered one of the main things about being the gamer: grinding![]()
Throw it at Nazeem. Of course I've been to the Cloud District! I'm a fucking Thane! Who the fuck are you?I prefer the Skyrim approach to skill books.
1) Open book - Gain skill boost.
2) Read flavour text. (Optional)
3) Place book on bookshelf. (Optional)
4) Use Telekinesis to throw the book at that annoying preacher in Whiterun. (Repeatable)
5) Profit.
A skill has been created through a special action!Louise: "NOT THAT KIND OF GRINDING, VON ZERBST! GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE GUTTER!"
I kinda want Seista to clean her room one day, find the notes and go 'Hmm, this looks like the beginnings of one of my Grandfather's old games. Maybe I could help? I really shouldn't, but...'That was quite clever of her. I wonder what people would think of those notes, though. Elaborate cypher or crazed scribblings of an economist?

*Jolts down a stat sheet, realises she's written on a noble's notes, panics and runs*
New Quest! And when Louise gets back, she sees Siesta's scribbles and has a Eureka moment
Is the reward hugs?
