I just believe, with my heart of hearts, that it's out there. Like religion, only the thing I'm putting faith in is that that specific obscure thing is the fetish of someone, somewhere.

I thought the smiley would make it clear I wasn't expecting a serious answer.

Despite "no exception" there is one big exception - unless you actually want to see it.
That's not an exception, the picture still exists even if you want to see it, you just won't be able to find it - only posts talking about it :)

Saito also did shit a La Cu Chulainn in tanking an Army and defeating it even after receiving fatal wounds

He doesn't defeat them, actually. From the beginning, he knew he had no chance in defeating them - his job was to stall them, and - at best - do such damage to them that they'd balk at advancing out of fear (considering he's one dude who did all this). He actually succeeded at that - against an army of 70,000, Saito achieved his objectives - he lost horribly, and by all accounts should have been dead - but he stopped them from going forward.

Which is, IMO, mentally even more impressive. Saito went into that battle with no hope of victory, knowing he was going to die without a shadow of a doubt.

Point. Thanks for the correction and just because I am a myth nerd, as much as wikipedia allows one to be I guess anyway

Cu Chulainn had fought with Morrigan the day before and ended up breaking Two of his Geas
1. She tricks him into eating Dog meat
2. Cu Chulainn fights a woman (Morrigan had shapeshifted into a Old Healer)
Geas is some serious shit and if broken the person is insanely weakened and he still goes against The Army and here's the cinch admist the battle he suffers a stomach wound so bad his guts are hanging out, to continue fighting standing up he entwines them to a stone and kept on fighting

Shit got so bad and intense no one came near him fearing he was immortal. By then he was already dead but stood up due to the Guts-Stone thing he did. People only came near once Morrigan send the Crows to feed on him

And then he stabbed them because he was still alive! Hah!

Even though I've only known Familiar of Zero from a few fanfics I'm loving this iteration of it. I hope you continue it someday.

Eventually. It's not the inspiration that has died out, oh no, that's still strong inside my head. But I haven't managed to write more than 500 words, total, in the last two months. I plan and plan and outline, but the moment I open a document to start typing everything goes numb. I haven't even managed to implement the corrections my beta sent me, over a month ago, because just replying to him/her to argue or explain this or that is exhausting.

Let's both hope January, and 2016 in general, is better.

I can relate to that in my own writing, even for collab stuff where you have other people to give writing themselves. I needed several weeks just to recover from one bad block. I know it sounds cliche and you've probably heard it a thousand times and even tried it, but just going out and walking around in a park for a few days in a row can really clear that kind of thing up.

Knew he tied himself to the rock, didn't know it was his own intestines, that's both awesome and disgusting, like reading Berserk.

Have you tried setting aside the computer and pulling out pen and paper? I used to suffer from crippling writer's block in just about every aspect of my work, not just pleasure writing. It really threatened my academics until I figured out why I could put together a D&D campaign in a couple hours but struggled to so much to get a methods section to my PI.

When you just scrawl without particular care for legibility you take away your ability to easily review your work before finishing a thought. Without the backspace key you cannot delete what you've done on the spot because there must be a "better" way of writing that scene. There is something satisfying about finishing a few dozen pages of scratchwork and knowing that somewhere in that pile your masterpiece exists, its just a matter of sifting away the silt.

In the process of getting my BS I'm pretty sure I killed more trees each month than most of my peers did over four years. My methods leaves one hell of a hand cramp, but it gets results.

This is an amazing story. The only The Gamer crossover I kept reading, I really enjoy the light touch demonstrated here. In fact, until the knife skill book incident and the gamer's body debacle with Montmorency, it wasn't clear whether Louise had even been changed mechanically by the figments, they could, as she theorized, be merely quantifying the already existing characteristics and mechanics of her world. Which is great! I hate it when the main character appears to function by a completely different, (usually easier) ruleset than the world around them. Much less interesting.

I will do my best to wait patiently for a new chapter.

Very interesting story, especially with The Gamer's power being applied to a character in a medieval world in which there is zero knowledge of videogames. It's pretty amusing to see her writing down the information with quill on paper.
Her character's growth is also very fascinating, considering the memory of the very annoying, childish and useless Louise we all have from Canon. It's a little weird that the Gamer Mind skill doesn't push down much harder on her emotions, since it's supposed to always keep her calm, no matter what happens, but not that surprising: every fanfic writer seems to have their own interpretation of that skill, despite the fact that the description in the original manga is pretty clear and straightforward (though obviously the actual implementation is botched by the author's incompetence, but thats another matter entirely).

Oh boy.

Hey @kache, look you're new so I'll tell you this now to avoid problems like this in the future.

You should always check the date of the last post in a thread to see if its over, well, usually two weeks to a month. If it is, then posting would be considered a Necro, which is bringing a supposed "dead" thread back up and giving it activity when the author hasn't been active about said thread for a while. Also it gives people false hope which makes them generally annoyed/angry at you for having done so.

So please check next time to avoid this problem in the future as its part of the etiquette of forum-going.

This has been mentioned before too but "necros" are allowed here as long as its on topic and people can see if the author posted something.

Anyway the interesting about quill on paper recording the information for her is that it could be found. Interesting implications considering her actions from what I can remember and can lead to questions.

EDIT: Gonna reread and catch up on the story now. From what I can remember she hasn't even found her menus yet.

Except the alerts tell you if it's the OP or not, as well as any large word count. A random person posting is just a random person posting. :p
