Also, a thought on the entire Gamer = Void Mage idea:
Perhaps we're looking at it from the wrong way. Rather than the Void Magic somehow leading to the gamer power, perhaps the Gamer power leads to being able to do Void Magic. After all, the Gamer is supposed to be able to learn all the magic, and maybe there's no other way to get void magic.
That'd make running into Vittorio or Joseph rather terrifying then, given they would've had decades of using The Gamer powers. Then again, given that the Void was split by Brimir, it's possible that they have different Gamer-esque powers that more closely resemble their Void aspects (Windalfr, Myoznitnirn, Lifdrasil, etc.).

Poor Tiffania is relegated to what, in this paradigm exactly?

Grand strategy, 4X included (She is the settler, Matilda is the warrior at start of a Civ 5 game).
Or Real-Time Strategy (as in Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, where she finds a certain something at the bottom of some lake, said to have been used in a 4000-year-long war...)

EDIT: WAIT A BLOODY FUCKING SECOND.

So, Tiffania summoning an MCV when? (screw EA's turning Tiberium into boring old Grey Goo, or just use plain old "ore" for RA1/2)

Casual games. The ones with loads and loads on in app purchases?
That would make some qualify as Poor in both senses if the word.

Also, you're Evil. I got my hopes up for a second there
Dude, it says if the post is the OP or not before it ever gives you the link.

Gah, it has been to long the details are blurry. Is this the one where she doesn't know/use a lot of what the gamer can do because of video games and video game tropes are foreign to her culture?

Anyway, @minuseven if you see this, this is an interesting story worth revisiting.

clearly Tiffania would have Puzzle Adventure style Gamer powers.

Everything she grabs goes into her "inventory" and she has to rub each object over everything until The Gamer determines that they go together, and then everything happens automatically. She had so much trouble when The Gamer had a wacky plan for her teapot and wouldn't let her set it on the stove.

Why?

Any good RPG protagonist knows Adam Smith hates their guts. At best this just means Tiffania inexplicably shows up everywhere carrying a ton of money and even more tons of merchandise.
Because this isn't actually an RPG we're talking about, so making friends with your local arms-dealer merchant can get you access to better gear and/or a better price.
