[X] Go alone (Midori can slip into the back of the crowd before they go back inside and hopefully avoid any major questioning, while you follow the strangers' plan of sneaking into the hospital to speak to the patient, albeit with risk of detection...)

[X] Go later (Have Midori go back and wait until school ends and go together, possibly with this third girl as well; and in the meantime, you can ask the stranger some questions. Visiting hours end soon after, so you may not have as much time to talk with the patient, though…)

I think that man will be more inclined to talk about his magical experience with a magical girl that suddenly appears in his room than with bunch of normal girls who insist on being magical.

[X] Go alone

We can pass on what we learned later if/when it becomes relevant, and the sooner we learn it the better.

But as a minor delay:
-[X] ask The Stranger about the new girl.

I can't think of a reason to delay. Worst comes to worst detransform, and then transform in his room. It's not like anyone could arrest a ghost for tresspassing if we are caught.

It's really easy for a ghost to sneak in- and it looks like this will be our role on the team if the Stranger insists on coming for us and only us while the others are in school.

We might as well get used to it.

Having a meeting with the others later to share information would be good though.

-[X] Push come to shove you can just 'revert' to ghost mode and watch over him for the night.

we can meet third girl later.

In the case that Go Later wins -

Please let us remember ti question the Stranger with what was meant about talking to our parents.

Also I'm fine with not sharing the ghost thing widely Midori was a special case because she was reacting to our death. But we do need to know how the Stranger plans on us coordinating with the team outside of MG form. Or what they plan to say when the others notice that we're not in school. And can take hits due to already being a ghost.

Really the Strabger is very bad at thinking things through.

Honestly I don't see us keeping the ghost thing a secret at all sustainable if we expect to battle with someone, or interact with them on a remotely consistent basis. If we only really expect to be friends and consistently fight alongside Midori I think it's doable, otherwise... I don't think we should share it to everyone, but if we expect to have a friendly or even probably working relationship it's probably going to be necessary to tell them.

We did pick the 'mysterious girl' archetype, though. It's the kind of girl that doesn't quite tell everyone (or anyone) what she is up to.

I can totally see us keeping our dirty laundry to ourselves and our mouth firmly shut if that hurts the recruitment effort. Yes, we probably won't be inviting them home and go to out-of-uniform parties, or telling them what we do in our free time, but that should not preclude basic socialisation and working together.

People who don't talk much about themselves aren't that rare, and are perfectly functional.

On some level we'll just have to see, but I feel that the issue I'm having with your argument is that you're framing this as akin to some kind of hobby or job that we do which is functionally untrue; it's a fundamental part of who we are and how we interact with the world. Like this is much closer to something we'll have to actively cover up, rather than most of the scenarios you're suggesting implicitly or explicitly, where Person X just doesn't mention Y and nobody ever has much chance of finding out about it, because it's a part of Person X's world that never intersects with Person Z, A, and so on.

But eh, I'm willing to at least try and cover it up and see if we succeed.

it's a fundamental part of who we are and how we interact with the world
...out of uniform. Which still leaves us with the other part.

We are effectively leading a double life, one of a ghost, and one of a Magical Girl. Both are quite different from each other in how they interact with the world. Are you saying that one is more fundamental to us than the other?

That is also something that could be said about other Magical Girls, except they split their life around human/meguca border. It doesn't prevent them from having relationships with people who are unaware of their magical side.
