Awww, no one wants orange except me?
It's the low versatility, isn't it?

Card Captor Sakura is as light and fluffy as magical girls get, and that's currently airing a direct sequel that's fantastic.Hadn't thought of it that way before. I do agree that just saccharine all the time isn't good either; it just seems like it's gone too far the other way, and simply because it's now considered the cool thing to do. Maybe the general tone will balance out over time, once this industry phase has run its course. Some dark, some light, most somewhere in between.
Mmm. I hear you on the idea that sickles aren't a great weapon, but I figure our weapon doesn't necessarily need to be martial compliant, especially if we end up fighting mostly non-humanoid opponents, assuming that's what the QM has planned...And even if we are, there's no garuntee we won't have some magical perk or spell that makes it viable. (It could be the chain is magically summoned/dismissed to make wielding it easier.)If you're going to insist on a sickle instead of a scythe then you might as well go and get the chain and just make it a kusarigama so we're not wasting our off-hand.
Or twin-sickles, as horrible as a dual wielding choice that is.
Yeah, I get that. It's just... I don't know. At least everything else suggested is a weapon of some form. Err... was made to be a weapon. Sickles are farming tools, so it's like "At least take advantage of your off-hand here for this."Mmm. *Waves off* There is more than a bit of a point when the argument of "But it's a Magical Girl weapon" I just kind of twitch at some things. The hook... kind of needs a chain at least to work at all, unless it's purely a magical casting talisman. It was an offhand suggestion. Might have been better to just have the traditional weapons and leave anything more abstract for write-ins.
