Highlighted for topics interspersed in several quotes.

So I went back to make sure, and:

Once again shrouded in black mist, the stranger stands before you. "We have trouble already," they explain. "So you'll have to jump into action a little earlier than I anticipated. The good news, though, is that you'll have backup; I was able to convince one of the the other candidates to join as well, before I was notified of the brewing incident."

Though one eye is hidden beneath her bangs, the dark bags and puffiness of both are visible under hastily-applied makeup; has she had a bad day? For a moment you want to say something, before remembering you have no clue what to say, and she can't hear you anyway. All told, she seems strangely familiar, though you can't place why.

And then she actually looks at you, and her expression undergoes a rapid transformation. Blank confusion, then dawning comprehension and stunned disbelief. Then a flash of pain, immediately covered with fierce rage. Then another realization, followed by calm tinged by lingering confusion. "Sorry…" she finally says, bowing, "You… reminded me of someone else for a moment there. You look just like her, really, but… well no, yeah, that's impossible now."

You still find yourself hovering anxiously as she half-stalks, half-limps imperiously away, toward the monster. "Anyway, how much has that shadow thing told you? They've been bugging me about it for a week now, but I only actually accepted an ho- a day ago. Do you have any clue what to do about this thing? They said it can be turned back into a human, but I was… distracted when they explained how."

Reminder that she literally took the deal in the time we were woolgathering at our house. Also, mild concern about whether or what our Stranger knows about how we're connected, since she's the one that they picked up while we were reflecting on our life/death.

Also, it definitely looks like she knows us and was probably at our funeral earlier, or at least knew it was today; holding off on taking up the job for a week and then only accepting shortly after aforementioned event seems a bit suspicious, and between that and the looks-like-she's-had-a-bad-day...

We also appear to have known her, at least somewhat, although it's up in the air whether our lack of complete recognition is because she knew us better than we knew her, or if it's because being dead is messing with us.

Also, how long have we been dead? Curious to know if she was put into the recruitment pool before or afterwards, if she's been being bugged about this for a week. Was she put into the pool as a result of us dying, or before our death were we both in the pool? It seems suspicious that the two candidates who've just signed on are the newly dead ghost girl and someone she knew/who knew her while she was alive. If we get other teammates, I'd be interested in checking if we have any connection to them, and if so, what.

Also, vote seems like good vote:

Well, I also just realized the possibility that we don't really recognize her because she's in magical girl mode, so her appearance might be different from her "civilian" form or there's some kinda glamour effect when transformed (might only apply to the living?).

A final possibility is that she's culpable for our death (perhaps she was behind the wheel of the car?) and has been tearing herself up over it.

Huh, that's an interesting thought. Could lead to some odd/intriguing dynamics if nobody knows who each other are, even if they know each other in their normal lives. Miraculous Ladybug has a ton of fun with that concept.

Actually, do we know what we look like when transformed? That she recognized us, or at least found enough similarities, implies that the transformation doesn't alter our appearance too much. Though I guess it may be different for others.

Curious how she says something is impossible when she is a Magical Girl fighting a monster. I am very interested in seeing why our funeral was supposedly the final push that made her contract.

Well, that depends. Are we gonna play at being "mysterious and spoopy ghost Meguca" or are we actually gonna talk with our companion once the fights over? Although really, we could still figure out who she is even if we detransform by, ya know, following her around all invisibly. Even if that would technically be Ultra-Stalking.

And seems like there's already a pretty solid plan to dealing with the monster. Restraining it sounds good, given that there's a person in there. I'd only add giving Greeny some directions to fully step in that leader role. Let's use her range to get ourself covered, well that I'm not sure if we should let her take another hit. Despite what she says, that last hit seems to have hurt.

I'll be honest, I'm half tempted to go scream "Magical Ghost Girl, Undead Purple: Ready for action!" Just to fully confuse her and kinda sweep past the actual awkward talk.

I mean if we want to have the MC act like a reasonable person we should probably talk to her but on the other hand we could haunt her (which is totally different than stalking) like the spooky ghost we are.

Fairly sure that's called "haunting" when you're a ghost, and it's part of the job.

Phantom Purple, at least. If we can't come up with alliteration when it's even in the title of the quest, what are we even doing here?

I'm onboard with "Phantom Purple" as our MG name...

The "Ask Sailor Green" (is that her actual name/title?) is basically the same as the primary vote, but I feel like "talk later, monster first" is a little too brusque and unfriendly, so I'd like to at least seem like we want to help, rather than we're only here under protest.

Also not sure we can call the stranger right now on short notice, or have him explain to us how to take down the monster easily during combat. So we probably need to slow the monster down for now, if not restrain it outright before some sort of purification.
