I think what you are asking for is a separate school action.

Maybe a who to hang out with action?

Yes. Because we spend so much time at school, we should have something specific involved with it.

Edit: We are narratively at school, and yet have no passive stat generation at all, or passive anything from the tutelage of our teachers, so we should have something signifying this huge time sink.

We only unlocked the ability to take the "become the best student" action because we used a diplo action on the teachers. Once again it takes minutes to become "friends" with someone, and yet we have to dedicate an entire year to even attempt, that doesn't make sense to me. We should have like a dedicated classroom action or something, with options like, "Befriend X" "Study Harder" "Train Harder" "Excell in Art" minor, and contingent, like probably all but the befriend action gives like a +1 or +2 boost or something to another action, while the befriend actually makes us interact with literally anyone that isn't the honest monster that is Thor.
I think you are making the mistake that things should be easy just because. Some kids do in fact have trouble making friends. I can see Loki interacting with kids but not doing well in the friend department. And as the QM mentioned Loki does focus on other things and spends more time interacting and trying to get closer to teachers than students.

Remembers moving as a 5 year old. Lost all previous friends. Spends some time at pre-K. Moves, goes to elementary school. First recess, approached by two children, "Hey you want to be friends?" "Yes"

FRIENDS.

(Also the oh-shit moment when their names are the same as my friends from daycare in the previous state... but like that doesn't matter)

But did you remain friends for a year? Without any other interaction? Because that's kinda what you're saying here if it takes only minutes to make a 'friend' in the terms of this quest. School friends have the ability to change almost every year (at least for me) and that's WITH the investment of talking to them every day in whatever shared class we had. But when school was out, we didn't hang out or do anything. And when I grew up, none of them were in sight. And if they were, it was due to outside investment. Like...an action.

And that's not a 'few minutes' of investment in that case.

I'm...racking my brain and am at a loss for what such an action could be. Feel free to suggest school specific actions.

I have to disagree with that. Sure to become 'friends' for a small amount of time. But to remain friends after the year is up, you need continued action and interaction or you part ways.
I agree with this. I remember making 'friends' with some kids when I was Loki's age that only lasted around a few weeks at most because it ended up turning out that we just didn't get along for a variety of reasons in some cases us just being too different.

I think you are being biased by assuming that your experience is the norm. Which I can say just isn't true since I myself had issues making friends at Loki's age and was pretty much a loner.

He's a fucking Prince, kids would want to interact with him... Imagine being a child in a class with Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Children are going to be intrigued and want to get to know them, not all things need to be instigated by Loki. And I'm not even talking about like them wanting to get to him for his status, just interest in what it means to be the prince... there is only 1 noble family.

Not without other interaction, but I'm still friends with this pair, I go to their houses everyone once in a while... and heres the kicker. I STOPED interacting with them to any major degree after elementary school, and we're still strong friends. I got to go so posting. Now.

I mean...going to their houses is interacting with them. To a major degree. At least how I see it.

As to the Prince thing...issue is Loki tried to make friends and failed on the Diplo roll so he's kinda weird to them. And again, they interact just no...lasting relationship.

They avoid Loki cuz they think he might be creepy like Thor.

I think he just wants to see what happens in school narrstively.

If loki has no friends. I want a description of how he is ignored every turn.
All god please no. I don't think we need a description of Loki not having friends outside Thor every single turn when it isn't relevant.

And you go again with the bias. Just because you experienced things a certain way doesn't mean that others will. Also while kids would maybe be interested with Loki being a prince it would seem like it would only be at first before the appeal wears off after interacting with him for a while. That and it seems Thor is the more popular of the two and the one that interacts with the other kids regularly and he seems like a bit of a dick. Which to be fair he is around 6. And on the topic them all being kids means that it seems like it would make sense that they wouldn't care that much about Loki being loyalty since again, 6 years old and interacting with them on a regular basis.

Really so because we failed diplo no one is even approaching Loki even when he became top of the class?
Thor is still being approached and is more popular even though it is known he collects hair. That doesn't make sense at all. If nothing else people would see him as a easy target like Harry from spiderman, where they try to use his loneliness to take advantage of him.

People seem to be missing the QMs point in that the kids still interact with Loki. It just that they don't spend the amount of time required to build a friendship with them. And Thor likely is in fact spending his time actually befriending people.

If people want other friends then seems like they need to actually vote for that otherwise it just seems like people are demanding that the QM just give them stuff for free without effort.

Soooo, what I got from thus discussion is: You want Friends? Go get them.
In other words, nothing new...really.

I think is why we should have descriptions (but no bonuses from) of Loki's life and classes beyond our actions.

So we can see how people act with Thor and such.
Seeing as the QM doesn't handle his quests like that not sure why he should change things because people demanded more description. It just seems different from the QMs style and I think people should respect that. That said how about things like omakes that gives bonuses? That way it encourages players to get more invested and let's others get more detail on the characters that we don't normally.

No the better question is, so characters not approach anymore. Or is this a case where they don't approach Loki. Remember last thread where they could approach Loki but at the beginning they didn't. I am just trying to figure out if the mechanics changed and other characters aren't going to be effected unless Loki does something.

That's been a thing for forever. It just only got used once. Ironically by who you're quoting.
If we move up a class level to Thor's class, does that mean we could graduate early, and if so, say we graduate 1 year early, could we get an extra learning action for that final year where we would have been in school but already finished?

And yes, I should start writing more Omakes. Unfortunately can't start until tonight.

They don't approach because Loki came off as weird when he failed his diplo. It'll take a while for that to wear off.

Other characters are NPCs now. No rolls just decisions. So mechanics don't really matter there.

No but you'll have more time/personal actions. And less DC that year. Should you do that.

I've got some writing experience
If the QM gives some more details about people's interaction with loki and what lessons he gets taught I would be more than willing to write a omake on loki's average school day.
