Rolling Thunder
On and on the sound of lightning went, the power of nature seemingly utilized in a maniacs hands as he vaporized the planet's residents. Erebus trudged forth, his brother in arms right by him, and then behind him as a hammer liquifies his ally. 'Duck.' Erebus thought to himself, the sound of the returning hammer meeting his ears. The monster had already gotten dozens with that trick, but not him.
He climbed back to his feet, reminding him of his days training to join the planet's military. Except, ya know, with more death. To call this a battle would be like calling the freezing of water a choice. The man, no the goliath who came to titan with blond rage and disemboweled the first regiment had yet to slow. He consumed all in his path, more akin to a natural disaster than an actual warrior. Screams of fear and rage and loss were drowned out by his unrelenting cry of fury. Another swing of the monsters mighty weapon and the group that had been lead by Aegnus fell. Aegnus himself was disintegrated. Perhaps if this had been a normal battle, Erebus would have felt something for his comrade. But this was anything but. A small prayer for the vanquished friend left his lips, as he turned back to continue his trudging toward the enemy.
Erebus wasn't like the other members of this guard. Of the entirety of the army, few could claim to be older than he. Erebus had experienced one of Titans few wars, had seen it crumble economically, seen the new king dawn the crown. Erebus wasn't new to this, but what he faced had been unlike all before. Perhaps he should run and hide. Maybe he'd have enough time to say goodbye to his family. But no, there was no hope, this thing would be able to kill him fleeing just as easily as it could when he was fighting. A torrent of electricity arced out, consuming a screaming patch of civies and their garrison, trying to make their way out.
The blond man shaped monster locked eyes on him, and sure enough sent his next strike his way, plowing through his arm. Erebus' previous apathy tuned into a sharp crescendo of fear. His body writhed, the left side cauterized by the lightning the creature wielded. 680 years on Titan for some madman to kill him. No kill would be too good for this abomination, instead it left him were he was, crying out in pain, turning towards a pair of turrets that had started lighting up to fire on him.
Erebus screamed his voice hoarse, the lost of his appendage stunning him. More explosions, more thunders and screams of fear echoed out as the thing wreaked havoc. It was as if the universe had spared Titans death, only so it could torture it for a little while longer. Nausea began to fill his head, his voice gone from his painstaking throes. A set of golden boats walked their way towards him, a solemn beat to the heavy steps that Erebus might have noticed had he been conscious of anything outside his injuries.
A golden knee knelt before him, a grim frown on the face of the king before him. A part of hope filled his mind briefly, dashed by the slow placement of the king's glaive on his chest, and its outward exit.

Thanos closed the eyes on his veteran soldier, the man's eyes fading from shock to nothingness. One more life taken. The mad Titan sat up, looking across the battlefield, watching the young executioner as he dealt blow after blow against the forces of his kingdom. A measure of disgust settled across the purple giants face. This wasn't the work of a plan, of a goal. This was a senseless slaughter. The Asgardian's killing lacked reason, cohesion the kind that followed Thanos'. Pulling his Glaive free Thanos rose tall and powerful, his figure shining from the armor he wore. It took the raging imputent child a moment to notice him. Then the blond came streaking across the battlefield towards him, practically frothing at the mouth. Blade met hammer, as the two collosals clashed. A spray of sparks rang from the opposing. weapons Bloody murder rang from the savage's mouth as they clashed once more.
The fight went onward, Thanos noting despite all his seemed primal aggression the Asgardian was keeping somewhat clear head in his attacks, restraining the anger and using it. A true warrior then. In this Thanos could see the likeness between him and his brother. Yes the prince and heir of Asgard himself, Thor was here, trying to atone for the loss of his people.Perhaps had he been there that day Thanos would not have survived. A smile went to his face. Once more Lady Luck had chosen her faith, a clear sign the the universe was backing him.
The Prince was foolish to come alone. An overhead swing launched by the acting Royalty had forced the blond into defense, blocking the blade as it pushed onwards. A smell of ozone surrounded them, the warrior prodigy trying to take the upper hand. If the prince desired a hand, then he would gladly oblige. A swift grab pulled the barbarians hair, before a sharp yank brought him face first into his own weapon. Dazed the avenger stumbled back, loosening his grip. Thanos capitalized, a swift strike to the wrist near breaking the arm of the young adult. Another swift curve and the back of his glaive broke the prettyboy's nose. A rain of systematic blows, every other one aimed at the head proceeded. Soon enough the boy was unmoving, despite his stubborn determination, the series of fractures that decorated his body had been too much for him. Leaning downward, blade against his throat, Thanos entertained the thought of ending this menace here. Remove a threat to Loki's position, and he could be none the wiser.
Or… or he could, yes that could work. Thanos lifted his glaive the Prince taking in large gulps of air. An earth shattering stomp of his boot brought a satisfying crunch noise, and the Asgardian slumbered at last. Perhaps, a different lesson this time. Thanos had given Loki the stick, and now it would be time to feed him the carrot. Endear himself, show his vast mercy so that Loki could learn to see it his way. Thanos had need for saviours, not warmongers afterall. From this next lesson, Loki would learn mercy. For Thanos was nothing if not merciful.
