I was referring to the BP values and the licenses on sale.
I was hoping that for the STC's, we would get access to top-tier Mechanicus tech instead of baseline Imperial tech.
It was just an odd sense of disappointment honestly. Getting the world and our friend on board is nice, but forgive me for being greedy, I just wanted to accrue more power and resources/assets.

Honestly we got really lucky with our STC roles. We got 4 massively complimentary STC, infantry power armor and infantry portable anti armor weapons, a servo dog that can be used by troops and as guard units and finally VR training pods. Like we couldn't have gotten a more perfect line up for our situation if we tried, the only outlier is the freaking dreadnaught but that's a category unto itself as since it's a full stc that means it has blueprints for everything on it from how to make the metal that goes into the galley chairs to the breakdown for how to make the assumedly fleet level command and control comma arrays and computers. Not to mention the more mundane stuff like auto loaders, armor plating and shells and cannons. That single ship should put our future small sector in the black for 500 years or more even if all we did was throw Thrones into the sun for fun while riding around system in a never ending booze cruise.
the fact that the initial sale to mars would amount to multi sector beggaring amounts is irrelevant since even if we manage to blow through all that money we can just sell stc print ours for parts of the ship whenever we need funds. Need money? Sell an Heavy, medium or light Naval auto loader to a forge world. Need more money? Sell a tertiary reactor STC to a hive world that equals a main reactor on a light cruiser at half the space and 4x more energy and resource efficient. Repeat ad nauseoum. Like I think we could do away with a money state at this point honestly

we are already gonna gain access to that through our admech friend who is gonna be in charge of the admech on our new planet and with those STCs we gave her she will be able to bargain ,deal and trade for just about the vast majority of the admech's tech data base with time
@Lord Necromancer just to be sure what we have are STC print outs for specific pieces of tech rather than the actual STC for specific pieces of tech , right ? cause their is a world of difference between them
an actual STC doesn't just contain the blue prints for a piece of tech but also a complete A to Z guide for assembly and mass production of it and its components with additional designs for its needed manufactories , refineries and chemical plants along with the relevant technical ,engineering and scientific data about every last component and design itself covering everything from the material science involved with its alloys to its software programming with all of it dumbed down enough as to account for all possible users and their levels of education or lack their off from collage gradates in core worlds of mankind to ignorant yokels in the frontiers plus the relevant CAD programs to allow for easy modification of the design to account for changing needs and conditions . as you can see their is good reason the admech is determined to find one
an STC print out on the other hand only contains the blue prints for a specific piece of tech and its components , its up to us to figure out and develop both the manufacturing processes ,develop the relevant tooling and assumedly method to actually produce the STC print out , plus lacking the data of the STC proper we would need to conduct research on the data in the print out figuring out the various components their performance , tolerance in comparisons to their imperial counterparts as well as in some case what those components even do and how they do it along with with what else can we use this for ? , if the admech researchers have so much as a shred of ambition
to give an example the admech find the STC printout for an alloy formula , they first need to figure out how to make the alloy then find out what makes it special then find applications and uses for it

Well that was just mostly used by DAOT humanity that didn't mean they weren't trying to find other ways of FTL cause there are other ways in universe and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a prototype that worked but was lost or destroyed in the Age of Strife cause high end DAOT is pretty ridiculous shit like the mechanivores, the Speranza a continent sized ship with an AI controlling it and the ability to shoot black holes at the enemy and manipulate gravity on a solar system scale, also wouldn't be surprised if they were experimenting with making various materials near black holes or Neutron stars and had full on dyson spheres in systems. Which just really puts into perspective how advanced the Aeldari Empire and Necrons are when DAOT humanity would've been crushed by either at their height or even at their lowest.
Edit: Oh I also forgot about the Sun Snuffers were and I quote "incomprehensibly vast serpentine machines which devoured stars. In the void, the sun-snuffers uncoiled into colossal structures that dwarfed Saturn's rings." and the Omniphages which were basically grey goo and could consume everything on a planet's surface in less then a solar day.

what about the dreadnought STC printout we have ? , in theory the ship would have an FTL communications suit as one of its many components so that it can send and receive orders , after all a dreadnought can be often expected to have duties as a Flagship for fleet or task force

Just to keep everything nice and simple, until you guys create a major schism inside the Mechanicus taking bits and pieces of an STC and doling it out for a quick buck will be seen as sacrilege. If/when you do that, then you can sell the components separately

but the admech sort of do that all the time due to the fragmentary nature of mankind's tech/knowledge base , to give an example the admech find an incomplete STC printout for a tank but its missing its engine block so the admech set out to complete this by going through every other STC blue print of a tank they have checking their engine blocks until the find one that happens to fit with minimum amount of jury-rigging and call it a job well done and for most part it works since STCs are often cross compatible with each other

Yeah, but the admech are also massive fuckin hypocrites. They've killed people for any sort of modification to their gear, but if that modification turns out to be highly useful they'll claim it is a new STC derived model and put it on the market.

it really depends on who is doing it , like if the fabricator general of a forge world or someone with his backing is doing it or someone with lots of political connections and influence like Cawl or Arkan Land for example then its perfectly fine and dandy , but if its someone without the relevant amount of influence ,power and prestige then he is very much screwed as the admech take office politics to the death to whole new level even compared to the rest of the imperium
so if we want to get the freedom to do all sorts of cool stuff with our STC finds we would need to turn our admech contact into a Fabricator general and likely help her set up her own forge world in which ever system we get granted
to give some explanation to the un initiated in 40k lore , the Fabricator General of Mars (the admech high lord) is officially the first among equals among the other Fabricator Generals and its a fact he is often remained of by his peers and thus his direct authority on other forge worlds and what they do and get up to is limited in the extreme , its why Forge worlds like Stygiya can actively and for the most part openly go looking for xeno tech to study and reverse engineer or Ryza can straight up tell mars to get fucked when ever the Fabricator General of Mars shows up at their door with demands without reprisal , not to say mars is helpless for its still the biggest , richest , oldest , most culturally influential ,advanced and politically connected forge world in the Imperium which they use to bribe , pressure and browbeat through soft power the other forge worlds into following along provided the other forge worlds can be convinced that is
I often wonder how much we can buy stuff without STCs since the AdMech don't seem to have many trade options. How can anyone with a production facility be able to produce military arms for the Imperium with such stringent requirements?
If we take what we had to go through for everyone else, there would be almost no production on this Hive World. Maybe it is the Governor or the AdMechs messing around.
Well they don't and the ones that do production are into the sphere of influence of the Mechanicus or has to much power for them to fuck around, like the only production that is kinda a grey area is ships because of the navy, the rest that is weapons, armors, tank and aircraft everthing is made by the mechanicus bar the Astartes equipament.

astartes do not really have any meaningful industries, the industrial output of a single hive city would eclipse multiple chapter put together in a day.
