Narratively it kinda fits. Both want to be heroes while being incompetent at using magecraft/aura. Both of them are also rescued by a badass female fighter and start doing the whole git gud thing with the help of a prodigious girl.

That's only because I'm the one rolling for stuff. Find someone else to roll for the events, and you will get better.
Anyway, Jacques being injured? You rolled a D-rank luck for your yearly event.
E-rank luck would get something bad, while a nat 1 would get you Lancer levels bad, while a A-rank luck would give you something good, while a nat 100 would give you Gilgamesh levels good. At least when gil isn't dicking around.

no, I meant Jaune's canon luck plus Shirou's luck, because while they both git gud fast...to be either one is to suffer, to be both is, well...I pity the poor kid.
The dreams return, but they are different this time. While before they were as clear as watching them on your own, as if you were there, now there was a sheet of something in between the dreams and you. Not only that but the few words you managed to learn back then became half forgotten and it's harder now to keep up with others speech. Still, it's more than enough for you to slowly learn the language and figure out what everyone, including you, is talking about.
There's a man now in the house, he looks more and more tired and sick as the day passes, but you still try to cheer him up. You call him 'old man' which was strange since he fills the role of father like your own does, but here somehow calling him father feels wrong.
Sometimes an older girl, older than your sisters but younger than your mother, comes in to spend some time with you two.
Sometimes the old man goes away for weeks at a time, returning home with a defeated look on his face and being sicker and more tired than ever.
The old man is hopeless in the kitchen, so you started to learn by yourself how to cook. He was the kind of guy that could burn water, and to be honest your first few attempts weren't that much better, but slowly you became better and better, hoping to bring at least some small joy to the old man through the food. Even if he doesn't skip meals, he's starting to get thinner and thinner.
One day while the both of you were watching the full moon on the perch of your home, both you and the old man talked. You couldn't quite understand what they were saying, but at the end of the talk the old man had finally smiled a genuine smile ever since you knew him.
It reminded you of the first dream you had.
Later, you came to the old man.
"Please, teach me 'mahou'."

As you walk around the house, you see something on a desk poking out from the table. Getting to a chair first you see it is some kind of long-
-sword made of _____ ____ infused steel to retain durability and sharpness, it was re-sharpened three times. It never bent or broke, used by four users all of the same family line, all using a similar fighting style. Shield collapses in itself becoming the sheath of the weapon. Shield infused with _____ ____ for durability, specially on the delicate mechanisms and compression technology. It's name means Yellow Death, and it is-
You blink, somehow the long sword in front of you being stuck in your memory.
"Jaune? Are you there?" Came the voice of your father and you dropped on the ground to greet him.
"There you are!" Came the jovial shout of your father, making you giggle in response. He picked you up before taking a few steps to the table. "Damn, forgot to take away my weapon after I cleaned it."
You reached for the sword before your father took you away with a laugh. "No no Jaune, Crocea Mors isn't for children. Maybe when you grow into a strong man like me you can use it."
~~O~~
Your father was cleaning the house with the help of your sisters, when your mother came back tired but with a grin in her face. "Rejoice family, for our wishes had been granted!"
You shudder at those choices of words, while your father raises an eyebrow at your mother. 'What happened dear?"
"We stuck gold, literally in this case." She said while dropping a large bag on the ground. "We found a ruin while going through our hunt, and we managed to find a lot of historical treasures inside. And get this, they might be from before the founding of the kingdoms!"
"Wow, that's rare." Said your father as something caught your vision on the bag which opened a little once it dropped on the ground. On instinct you went towards it. "It's a miracle that thing is even standing then."
"That's the thing though", said your mother with a frown just as you opened the bag a little more, "the ruin looked almost impossibly new, but we knew it was old due to the pictograms inside it. There was a lot of gold, jewels and some ancient weaponry we salvaged, and we plan to try and figure out how old they are exactly with experts in Vale and possibly Atlas."
"That's amazing, to finally regain some of the history of Remnant- Jaune what are you doing?"
You had opened the bag and inside there was a smaller bag where two hilts of two swords were visible. Before you could touch them however your mother took you away, and you felt like crying. They were so close, after seeing them for the last time so long ago...
"Kanshou, Bakuya!" You said and your mother froze.
"What did you say Jaune sweety?"
"Kanshou, Bakuya."
"Is something wrong dear?" Asked Jacques to his wife while taking his son on his lap. The woman took the twin hilts from the gab, revealing a pair of swords, one black with red hexagonal patterns and the other a shade of white that reminded her of the clouds in the sky. They were chipped at the edges, but where they were still whole the sharpness still hadn't faded.
"I brought back the twin swords home as my share of the loot, either to give them back to a museum for cash or to keep them. All in all it was considered a bargain since they are simple steel swords, if made with great craftsmanship for the era they came in. I found also an inscription beneath the pedestal they were. I took a picture of it and sent to a historian on Beacon, Doctor Oobleck. He returned me the meaning of the pictograms about an hour ago before I returned home."
"The pictograms read as Kanshou and Bakuya."
They looked at the twin swords which you still tried to reach, and you.
Something came over your mother, and she presented the swords hilt to you, and you expertly took them. It was too heavy to swing them, but still their feelings in your hands was like the touch of an old friend you saw a long, long time ago.
"Okaerinasai."
