Joining A Club, Part 2

    • First you went to the Advanced Combat Club, where those hopeful to enter a preparatory combat school gathered. They had either trained hard enough to unlock their auras naturally, or someone they knew had unlocked it for them. Their combat was more brutal considering they used live weapons against each other.

    Despite the prestige of the club, there was relatively few people there, but you could tell they would all either enter a combat school in the future or become apprentice hunters of some sort.

    "Welcome Jaune, came to join our club?"

    You looked at Bianca in the booth alongside the Trio. "I'm just looking for now, I will decide which club to join later."

    She nodded. "I'm sure you will do just fine in this club. Here's a pamphlet we made."

    Taking it you read the small paper, getting an introduction of the club.

    - Make potential friends that will follow you to a combat school!
    - Learn how to fight like a real hunter!
    - Became a defender of humanity!
    - We have cookies!

    You looked back at her, then at the plate of cookies on the booth. "Can I get one?"

    "Sure, help yourself."

    Next was the marksman club, and you were quickly grabbed and dragged by Emeralda. She started seriously training at the same time as Azure but after the home invasion of the grimm she became much more dedicated to fighting now, though she specializes on ranged combat at the moment.

    "Hey Jaune, come and join my club!"

    You looked at the club with the upperclassmen teaching the younger kids gun safety with a prop. Somehow fighting with a gun didn't appeal to you much. "I don't know, I don't think guns are for me."

    "Well, there are the archaic weapons you could try too."

    Someone had a bow in his hands while another one had a crossbow. The bowman pulled his own bow with little effort before loosing the arrow on the target, while the crossbowoman hit the mark with her custom job weapon that shot four bolts at the same time. Jaune could see however that it was quite tricky to reload it.

    "There are also special crossbows that use dust in special ways to give faster rate of fire or special effects."

    Interesting, your eyes lingering on the bow and crossbow for a while before looking back at Emeralda. "Do you have a pamphlet or something?"

    "Yes, here."

    Looking at it the content was mostly the same as the Advanced Combat Club, except here they had cake. Looking up you saw Emeralda holding up a piece of cake to you.

    It was delicious.

    You saw other clubs, but they didn't held your interest for long. You just went to the dueling club to say hi to Sapphire and the gymnastics club to cheer on Azure. Still, you had already decided on which club to join.

    We can't project anything yet that really takes advantage of UBW enough to make us a significantly better fighter.

    We can always revisit archery once we've seen more weapons in use. If we see dust arrows or knives in action, we can join marksman class afterwards.

    @Neo-Chan convinced me. Scathach does beat out most of the utility from Advanced Combat right now, and perfect archery is always nice.

    Eh. Mom and Dad will keep up our Melee combat training so I say we take the Marksman Club so all our bases are covered.

    neither of our parents are ranged focus. we can get melee training from them, but not really ranged training.
