And all of Louis relationships will have their own benefits and problems.

So, if Louis does end up going for Marie Anne... there's a chance Austria might calm down and not attempt to go to war with us at the next possible opportunity? It would be nice to deny Britain from building another coalition as large as the Second Coalition if they decide to have another go at getting multiple European countries to go to war with France until we can actually pull off a naval invasion against Britain (especially now that Prussia is reforming its military, and after said reformation, they may well be strong enough to contest us without the aid of other European powers)...

I agree that targeting the kids was a tactical mistake, but his cause was still just in every sense of the word
....did you want to justify political terrorism.

BOLIVAR's cause is more just then whatever the hell Robe was doing.
More of a strategic mistake my friend, because of that actions after it, he died.
He made a calculated risk, and then realized that...it was the guy that helped Brian escape, and the guy had men with him.

Both causes can be just at the same time, liberation from colonialist powers, and liberty and destruction of the monarchy

Don't argue with him, I'll make the request to get this guy a warning.

Because trying to justify the murder of children isn't cool.

I'm not pro mudering kids I'm just so fucking sick of all of you acting like Robespierre is the ultimate evil because he targeted them

If your looking for crimes of Robespierre, especially in this quest, there's far, far worse then just targeting two kids

I'd like to request a temp threadban for a day or too, I'm getting too worked up and it's bad for my mental health. Apologies

If anyone wants to yell at me some more my DMs are open

Now I'm not saying it may also make Louis a target and might make royalists really really antsy and start some shit…

But it might happen. It might also make Napoleon see Louis as a threat as well, and make Louis distrust very justified.

Speaking of:

That moment where I have just finished making the American rumor mill but have decided to scrap it… because by god, I feel like everyone is going to get pissed off again and it won't be fun.
Okay... @Sir_Travelsalot, could you rewrite your Option a bit so that, while still advocating for Louis to choose for himself, doesn't lean outright in favor of the Princess anymore?
There are a lot of benifits to catching the Archduchess as well, but again I'm not going to say any more then that.

Not really, no. The only thing that makes it 'lean' in the arch-duchess' favour is that she's the one that Louis described a deeper emotional connection to, and a greater potential for understanding and empathy between them. And, frankly, I don't much care who it is in the end that Louis picks, because our adopted little voluntary child soldier deserves to have some genuine happiness. From the description given thus far, Marie Anne represents the best chance of that.

And if Louis pursues a romance with her, and Austria decides to get pissy about that, try to paint her as a modern Helen of Troy? Then we'll just have to beat them down again, won't we? Politics can go hang when it comes to matters of the heart, as far as I'm concerned.

TLDR: No, I'm not going to rewrite my votes to try to meta-game out of less convenient outcomes. Que sera, sera.

My big worry is that this will bring us closer to the Austrians, when we should be preparing to liberate them in the inevitable second war

Fair enough.

Lemme guess, Brian is either dead or captured? Or the Caribbean has been retaken by New Spain and Britain and Haiti is enslaved again?

No I just rewrote the entire thing…

I blame all of you for the crazy shit that has occurred.

Giving America ideas and the Spanish wishing to kick British ass.

Eh...remember that Therese has no formal education. I find it unlikely she would know about that.
Eh, I figured that this a half-remembered retelling she's heard from a priest from her youth or the various friars she's passed on the streets, or even something she's read from one of the journals that were being passed this way and that.

God loves the American Continent and those who live on it.

That is the only way to describe the amount of roll explosions in this rumor mill.
