Some immediate comments.
  1. The French do not use regiments but demi-brigades.
  2. Napoleon will always sound like Christain Clavier to me.
  3. While Brian's plan was out of the box, the victory really comes down to Austrian blunders. Primarily the lack of any kind of reserve on the far side of the river.
I wonder how Berthier will feel about this considering he thought he was better than brian. Will it make him gain respect or simply resentment.
Given what we know of the man and his actions towards Jomini? Berthier will keep the grudge going, waiting for a moment to pounce.

Brian continues to be That Guy huh.
Yeah, at Least Napoleon realizes it and pretty much decided that he should be really nice to his brother in law...

Can't have any coups without him, cause Brian for better, and for worse, is the angel on his shoulder.
Just to note, this is very hard to read on dark themes.
Fixed that to a brighter color.
Stealing your opponents cannon and using them against your enemies truly a beautifully done plan
Well here is the thing that must not be understated for Brian's plan.

He knew he offered too good a bait for the Austrian generals to pass up, putting Napoleon front and center with only 30,000 men at the center.

The Austrian's were fed false intelligence by Nappy's agents, that the Army of Italy was in shambles, without shoes, boots, and some brigades were lacking in functional muskets (like the Army of Italy was when they first arrived.) After Bologna, where they assaulted the city.

The Austrians, generals, arrogant that the French were exhausted and under-supplied after a city assault, took the bait.

All that was a forgery.
Big oof. Is that all the austrian generals except the Archduke?
Yep...

Well there were others but they had been sacked months ago.
Hm, Brian is in reputation 7, a step below us. Also his new GS is 21, Admin 20, Logistics 24.
That's just the rep gained this part.

Just wait till next part.
Jesus, what a way to kick of just part 1. I can't imagine what else Brian could do that would be comparable to this. Because at this point he is already likely among the greatest military leaders in France's history.
Well, he is in the perfect negotiation position to get lots of things from the Austrian Empire.

And I mean... lots of things for France...

And himself and Napoleon.
I wonder how Berthier will feel about this considering he thought he was better than brian. Will it make him gain respect or simply resentment.
Berthier will HATE HIM.

The man does not give up a grudge, especially when he believes he could have done better then the surveyor.

(Note, he wouldn't... Brian was directly involved commanding the right flank as well, a position that Bertheier would not have handled well)
....Welp. Austria is DONE for the forseeable Future. I don't see them recovering from this for a good few years. And with Prussia out of the War and Britain sueing for Peace, I think the Republic has survived it's first Test.
Well... Yes... but also no.

We captured over 50K men, but none of them died yet.

Plus you know... Austria is going to leave the war very soon.
We didn't actually kill that many men though, we did capture a lot of guns, but the men will eventually be released. I don't think they'll be very willing to buy another fight though, and it will be a ransom for the ages...
I don't think many of them will be coming back to the army any time soon... and even if they did... Well.

It would be very interesting if they didn't come back after they've been called up.
The French do not use regiments but demi-brigades.
That was a mistake on my part, got British units mixed up with my french ones.
Napoleon will always sound like Christain Clavier to me.
Is it wrong that I think he sounds like someone else to me.
While Brian's plan was out of the box, the victory really comes down to Austrian blunders. Primarily the lack of any kind of reserve on the far side of the river.
Well, Hannibal used the Romans' tactics and blunders against them at Canne.

Brian did the same thing.
Given what we know of the man and his actions towards Jomini? Berthier will keep the grudge going, waiting for a moment to pounce.
Berthier has a burning hatred for Brian.

Like the next time they see each other, he will try to duel him to kill him.

I feel like we are being sidelined, and I don't know if I like it. :(
Remember, we are not Napoleon, the man who will take over France, most of Europe, and lose it all with one gamble... we are Therese Auclair.

We are on the path to Marshalship, and immortality in our own ways.

Brian just achieved it first with Nappy B.

Also, I am wondering how the hell historians will view this battle in history.

And the remarkable restrain Brian and co had to not kill them all.

As proof of Nappy B's brilliance, for he was able to know when to find the right person to do the job.
But would Brian get the Credit he deserves, or would the credit go to Lannes, for being able to take the guns after a hellish night march with incomplete maps.

Massena knowing exactly when to get his Cav towards the Austrian Flank, causing them to surrender.

Napoleon for baiting them across the river?

Or would Brian be the man considered the Architect of one of the greatest battles of human history?

Something that Came to me, a Quote by Brian:

"When men believe in something, they should fight for it without any hesitation. Be it for liberty, for Justice, or just common decency that all men deserve. That is why I fight, and that is why I will be victorious."

That can be easily taken out of context lmao.
The entire point of the quote is for to be out of context.

I wanted to say something that would fit Brian's character, but also be something that people could twist into their own vision.

Is he a hero of the Republic? Napoleon's Lap Dog? A monarchist? An Anarchist?

Or is he none of the above... and just fights for France.

Clavier probably wasn't that good of a pick for Napoleon, way too old. I think people tend to forget that a lot of the figures of the revolution were really young. Napoleon would've looked more like Tom Holland than anything else, since he was in his mid 20's during the Italian Campaign.

Also, he apparently spoke with a thick Corsican accent when speaking French.
I know. But during primary school I did a mix of school project/paper and presentation on Napoleon which had a lot of work put into it. That miniseries holds a special place in my heart.

Heck. I still show bits and pieces of it to my own students. Mainly the 18 Brumaire and 100 days scenes.

It's been 2 years since the start of the Revolutionary Wars and we're only just now ending the First Coalition. Even Nappy didn't go from the First Coalition to Emperor in a single war, this stuff takes time.
Plus, we have our own Campaign to out Nappy B Nappy B.

Sides, what are the British going to do, attack a neutral French Fleet?

THat moment where you realize that Brian and Napoleon have enough captured guns to outfit an entire army.

Or potentially cause a boom in the global arms industry in Europe.

Or even... get to the max wealth in the entire quest of 20.

Yeah, France probably has more artillery per capita than pretty much everyone in Europe! The problem is selling them though, not many people but potential enemies to do that too...

Well considering the peace that may occur, and the ass-kicking many nations faced...

We might have potential buyers.
